It's called Kashyyyk!
I'll take ewoks over Ja Ja Binks any day!
Big ole thumbs up on both accounts and yup, I would take ewoks over that character any day also.

Didn't realize Darth Vader was only in A New Hope for only 12 minutes! In Rogue One, he probably wasn't in it for more than 4 minutes. His talk with Krennic was very brief and his hallway scene was no longer than 45 seconds.
I do agree that less is more. Keeping the mystery instead of explaining too much for a mysterious character will just water it down. Kill the aura. This is what made Kylo Ren lose his aura once he unmasked himself.
Rogue One is a good movie. Not my favorite Star Wars film but it does have my favorite Vader scene ever even if it only lasts 40 seconds. My #1 favorite Vader scene prior to it was in Empire when Han Solo shot him and he just took his gun and says, "It will be an honor if you join us."
TESB will always be my fav because it had all my fav characters in one movie, had all the themes like The Imperial March and Han and the Princess, and the many memorable lines. It was also released the year I was born.
Whatever SW films that comes after which should be endless even after we die are just bonus chapters but may never reach its cinematic peak like it did with Empire. Creating a third trilogy from the same series will just never recapture the movie magic of that first one.
Star Wars: Original Trilogy forever for me. The rest are just watered down copycats with the Prequel and Sequel Trilogies. The Han Solo film might surprise me though and rank in my Top 5 SW. Young Indiana Jones turned pirate/smuggler in a galaxy far, far away...
I always remember her in this one.I googled, only you could be so bold and this popped up.
Forever etched upon my mind
I think you're absolutely right about Lucas. He had these brilliant ideas for a wonderful universe, but the directing was best left to others (notably Lawrence Kasdan in Ep V).
So do you think Lucas lost his touch, or never had it and it was just some talented actors could carry the story? Not a challenge, just curious. American Graffiti is pretty darn good for Lucas to be a bad director. So I vote, for the former.![]()
Re: Episode 3- It may be the way it was written, but it infuriated me how seemingly easy it appeared for him to be duped by the Emperor. Yes, I know, the dark side made inroads into his psyche and had undue influence over him. I just did not sense that. Especially with murdering little future jedis. They did not pull off the transition IMO from being basically a good person to Vader.
Agreed! The best films were not helmed by Lucas.
I personally see Lucas as a better storyteller than director.
Agreed, I really did not see going all dark side over some "possible" future death, regardless of any latent mommy issues. I further feel the entire love story was contrived and never felt either of them had a real emotional connection. Also, every woman I've watched these firms with were struck with confusion as to Padme's reaction to Anakin coming home after his mom died and telling her he killed everyone, animals, kids and all.
The near universal response was: "Uh, yeah that's awful Ani, hold that thought. I left something on the stove" and get the hell out of there.
Anakin.Haha, Anakin or Meerkat?
I think SW works so well because of the cast. It makes the characters so believable. Not sure if that's down to the director or the stellar cast in the OT.Anakin.Although I disagree with @meerkat because Episode 4, my favorite was directed by Lucas his self.

Probably a bit of both.
I think he did alright until he went back and tinkered with the originals!I don't have that high regard for Lucas as something along the lines of being "a great director", but he did do a great job with 2 movies I really like.
Yep. The comment above is totally excellent and hitting the nail. "Star Wars: Original Trilogy forever for me. The rest are just watered down copycats with the Prequel and Sequel Trilogies" statement is so true.https://www.google.com/amp/s/moviepilot.com/posts/4174700/amp

Why I am glad he lost control after the sale to disney. Well that and if I ran the world..he'd do 5-10 for jar Jar. This crap...should have been cut in the starting days before a green screen even hit. this should have been killed script readings in rooms really. Really george....you are digging this crap? Sadly all the mostly great work the man did was wiped out by this one atrocity. Case of you can 100 great things. its the one mess up that happens last that has you forget about that.
This Han change he did as I recall was because he felt that it portrayed han as a cold callous murderer. He was a rogue smuggler....not a choir boy and boy scout, probably did quite a few bad things really. Which is cool...not every hero has to be a saint really.
Probably why I loved rogue one. We finally got a fresh, new and more realistic perspective into the rebellion. Sometimes...they can't take the high road to get the mission done. So we have less than perfect and ideal heroes in it. Heroes with some blood on their hands. Blood they didn't really want there but is what it is.
George would never have done this....a rebel extremist, persish the thought. Might give a 3rd dimension to the plot and some depth. Empire bad, rebels good. 3rd dimension of rebels sometimes not so good to accomplish mission a new spin I liked.
My thing I felt the movie didn't address enough...I would have liked to seen more about that Saw (forest whitaker) angle.

Indeed also an appropriate response, however, I don't know many women foolish enough to confront a violent man with the truth of his actions. An expeditious exit seems most prudent.I'm thinking YOU'RE A MONSTER!![]()
Complete and total political correctness run amok! Absolutely no reason to change this scene other than to appease complaints from apologists who thought it set a poor example for children and teens.Yes, totally uncalled for. I don't know of anyone who is happy with that decision, nor what prompted it. They managed to damage Solo's dangerous quality with that adjustment (to make him more of a good guy?) Bah!![]()
As far as the SWs main story, show us some meat for heavens sake! Episode 7 was a couple of decades old, left overs. Rogue One moved in the right direction, but was still embedded in the past of the main story.
I'd pay good money to NOT see something death star/planet killer related. Rogue one okay as it gave back story for a new twist. But...time to find a new dreaded weapon.
Some 4 stars (or whatever rank they have in SW...not that much into that fluff part)...need to be removed from command. this is not working guys. Think of something new. Hope remains this learned for remaining 2 movies from the trilogy in the making.
Other hope I have is they sent Kylo Ren to acting bootcamp, or hired writers and coaches to better guide this character (not sure where the fault lies here, that the character of Kylo Ren is a god awful mess is for sure though imo).
Another sad thing rogue one showed me is I left going its really really really sad A CGI based Peter Cushing (left this world many many years ago) came off as more evil and menacing in the small bits they did this for than the supposedly evil real life lead for a whole film. Let me define supposedly. As I watched kylo ren I didn't get a "Fear Me" vibe. I got a "Fear me, pretty please? with sugar on top?" vibe.

It was like if you ever watched the outtakes of Ep 4. before James Earl Jone Became the voice of Vader. Some scottish (iirc) dude was wearing the Vader suit on the set to say lines. The decision to make James the voice....possibly the wisest and smartest thing George did for the franchise. Kudos to the scottish actor for trying but I'd predict Darth Vader would not be the icon of evil he is if this stayed in place.
I think he did alright until he went back and tinkered with the originals!
Agree this one does. First shoot he did. This is my biggest complaint. Way to much tinkering and then the video debacle that you posted. Then you compare that to Rogue One, where we have a rebel taking a guy out in the back alley on a planet without blinking an eye. Han shot first period. Killed greedo. Greedo fans get over it!![]()

I only snickered but I understand her sentiment.I really did not like the Kyo character, nor the actor who played him. The constant smashing things and lashing out irrationally was way other the top and reminded me more of a short, pudgy North Korean dictator than the successor to Lord Vader.
Also the minute the guy took off the helmet my daughter just burst out laughing right in the theater. Sigh...

I watched the OT with him when Jedi came out. It was a competition. It was a cinema full of kids dressed up as characters. I was dressed as Yoda.
He wore the Darth Vader costume (obviously).
I think those Storm Troopers costumes are pretty toasty as well. But if I was ever to buy a costume it would have to be Boba Fett.I stand corrected, cool for the follow up.
Sounds like a cool event you went to for that. Best I have seen is we run a small time comic con like event where I live. The hardcore SW folks come out in droves. See some looks to me damn near authentic outfits like imperial officers and such.
One dude I feel bad for. Has a very nice, very realistic Chewbacca Costume. feel bad because event held when its still kind of hot here. Sweating his ass off an understatement. Hot as hell kind of walking around in shorts and a t shirt even.
Wife wanted son to have pics with him like most people there did. I got old boy 2 bottles of water since he was real popular for this and I felt bad.

He's such a cool baddie.
