I don't know about issues, but for me with the AMD drivers, FSR is causing the game to crash. I have medium settings for most things and FSR turned off - I'm getting around 60+ FPS (I've stopped tracking FPS so I forget what exactly). Once AMD fixes that bug, I'll look to boost the quality to high with FSR.

Overall I'm pretty happy with the visuals, but admittedly I'm not getting that fog thing you're dealing with.
The fog thing mostly went away after I switched to a 2k monitor and started tweaking the image with GeForce Experience, an extremely easy way to change graphic appearance, and the great thing is that these changes can be toggled on and off. And there are 4 sets, so you could easily have one set for indoors and one for outdoors. That volumetric fog issue I think has to do with film grain, and some other settings stuff… Is it safe to say with 4k, you’ll see more? And some of the environments have what I would describe a oppressive color filters. 🤔

I’m most interested in DLSS and HDR calibration, as I have the hardware to take advantage of both.

As long as I don't see stutters or lags, and the game moves decently, I'm happy. Am I getting 100 FPS, no but by the same token, its really a fun game

I've been happy with how smoothly it plays as well. What's funny is that I started to notice the room warming up as I played - I'm so used to playing yesterday's titles that I don't generally push my hardware. "Why am I so damned hot? Oh, I'm asking my rig to actually *do* something!"

So do you guys sell your rare and legendary items? What else can you do with them, if you don't use them?

Right now, I have a cargo full of rare, and legendary items. I need to cull the herd, so to speak. I still consider myself early on in the game, just level 14 and I'm currently starting a the quests of the UNC but I'm dealing with weight issues.

I may see if I can expand the RazerLeaf's cargo capacity shortly but in the mean time, I'm trying to figure out what weapons I really want to focus on. In other RPG games, I tend to like the rifle builds, and I generally stay away from heavy weapons (not that I got any yet). I have too many pistols, and automated weapons, i.e., several maelstroms and grendels and sidestars

I sell them. Going to have to work on the merchant skill because I feel like the game low balls the item pricing with merchants.

You are speaking of your carry weight? You can up your carry weight via the consol, so it’s not as restricting.

I went to New Atlantis and worked on several local quests. After the meeting the people in the Lodge did some local quests, now on the Main Quest where Sarah follows you looking for an artifact, went to Mars, and an abandoned space station in Earth orbit, so I am starting to collect stuff.

Both carry weight, but also cargo space. I feel, at least early on the skill points are few and far between so adding points to weight lifting is not high on my list, though I think I can get to level 3 for that perk.

I'm avoiding console commands, in part because it becomes a huge temptation if I start using it. There are weapons and space suits I've acquired that I'm holding on for no good reason

Has anyone gotten around to building a ship? I’m wondering if you can enlarge interior spaces, not make more square feet, but larger contiguous space, like a hanger? More reading and it appears there are set pieces so you are putting together existing modules, not creating new pieces. The following first link are not that impressive:

For an alternative in player built, ship building there are some amazing ships in Imperium Galactic Survival. These start off as little pieces. Made in the Steam Workshop, you can download for free!

You ship has limited cargo space for stuff like personal gear? 😳 I won’t give myself gear, here.

So has anyone done the UC faction quest? Any thoughts on choosing the factions near the end. I'm not jazzed up about going under cover, but the questline is engaging. I'm currently at the lock, so I'm guessing that I'm still early on in the quest line.

Question about the questline:

I'm assuming if I side with the Crimson Fleet they'll be friendly to me from there on out. Will the SYSDEF ships be hostile to me then? My moral makeup is such is that I'll be siding with the UC, but am curious. I can see another play through at some point where I pick all evil choices - I did that with Outer Worlds but truth be told, it wasn't that fulfilling

Just an addendum to the UC faction questline - its been very enjoyable. I'm nearing the end, but I'm sure I have a couple of hours worth of time to get there. I was hesitant simply because I wasn't jazzed up about going undercover but its really fun quest

I haven’t spent much time doing the main or big questlines yet, I’ve had a good time tooling around doing minor and side quests or just finding things out in the galaxy.

That's not the UC Faction questline. That's the Crimson Fleet questline. The UC questline is about joining the Vanguard

UC SysDef and UC Vanguard are completely different subfactions of the UC. The Vanguard are more akin to a National Guard. SysDef is their actual Navy.

Just follow your heart. (if you're worried about money don't worry the reward is the same no matter what you do)

Here's where I stand at level 20 and I have two skill points to use. I usually like to keep a couple available in reserve for just in case moments.

Here's my thoughts, I just finished off UC/Crimson tide faction quest - and while I was hesitant about doing it, I'm so glad I did and in doing it I came to some realizations with the skill tree. First; I wasted a point for medicine, meds are so plentiful I really don't need it. Combat skills has served me well, and so far I've been happy with my stealth, Persuasion and Lock picking, I'll be looking look to upping those sooner then later. Persuasion/Lock picking cut down a lot of the hassle in doing the quests and in one case I needed to persuade someone otherwise the quest couldn't continue.

I'm unsure if I'm I'll get into ship building, so most of the tech skill tree may very well be untouched, other then Security as I mentioned

Bear in mind you’ll need to get your piloting skill up if you want access to bigger and better ships like the strongest non-player made ship in the game: The Freestar Stronghold

Yeah, that's the quandary. I'm happy with the Mantis right now, but it may not be enough down the road. I may take a wait and see attitude.

Plus the bigger ships mean more cargo storage, including space for shielded cargo if you're into doing some...not very legal deliveries to the Trade Authority so to speak. 😉
