Note. "Available 11/3" prominently featured on the site. That's a lie. It should say "Available to a lucky few" or "Available after 11/3" if it were to be made more accurate. Shady marketing.

But it IS available on the 3rd. Apple stores and authorized apple retailers such as Best Buy and carrier stores will have a stock on hand (albeit limited) for people to purchase. So like up at a store and go get one. If they sell out they sell out, which they will. So line up early.

Correction, lineup really really really early ;) I bet he won’t and by the time he gets to the front of the line there will be no more iPhones for him, and he will be back ranting again.

To all those saying apple said they will not get their phone on the 3rd and that it's just goes on sale on the 3rd. Then why has there been hundreds of posts in numerous iphone threads stating that Apple will give it's customer a pre-order date of the 3rd. Why is that apple sent out emails stating that customers if ordered quickly would get their phone on the 3rd. There are adverts in papers and magazines stating such, delivery for release date.

Therefore this is not a case of iphone goes on sale on the 3rd but Apple will deliver your phone on the 3rd. If Apple cannot guarantee a delivery date of the 3rd then they should stop with the advertising of getting your phone on the 3rd and tell customers that delivery will be after the 3rd.
I'm sorry but I just don't understand how you think that Apple is advertising that you will get your phone on the 3rd. And yes, if you ordered quickly enough you got a Nov 3 date, otherwise not. This is not that hard to grasp.

"Available": able to be used or obtained
It was able to be obtained on the 3rd. Doesn't say "guaranteed to be used or obtained"

i sort of get the impression you’re purely trolling now.
hundreds of thousands of ppl ARE getting the phone on releas day, either shipped to them or by being first in line at the stores on friday. since the preorder date has passed, that’s your remaining option.

you understand the economics of supply and demand right? you didn’t get release date because you were not fast enough. your internet connection was slow or you missed a nanosecond window of opportunity or the door for you to get in was when you had closed the app to refresh. it’s largely a lottery because the volume of people in that moment can not be processed and handled simultaneously with current technology yet.

we get that you’re bitter. but your editorial of this situation is an emotional argument, not a factual one.

Ugh. The stupid Apple Store App wasn't working... finally I got in, and got November 10th - November 17th. I was pissed, so I canceled the pre-order - Now when I try to re-buy it, I get a 5-6 week shipping estimate?

The worst part is i didn't sleep last night. This is how Apple treats its most loyal customers?

Glad to see that you have your priorities straight.

And isn't it ironic that you are carping on Apple and their performance, while openly admitting to lying to your boss and skipping a day at work because you were up trying all night trying to buy a new toy?

Clearly a first world problem.

Can’t believe this ridiculous thread made it to 8 pages! Clearly Apple can not be expected to make an infinite supply available on launch day. Demand is the biggest unknown in a supply chain and they have found a way to limit the risk of producing to many phones.

This is not a new thing. They always say the day it’s available and other than the 8 that means available to those who preordered within minutes or camped out at a store.

what does this guy do for living?
- called in sick just to get a phone?
- cancelled order and reordered and blamed for delay?
- got so upset and did not sleep because of some 1st world problem?

You clearly still do not get it somehow. It's available to the public that date. Where exactly is the guarantee EVERY SINGLE PERSON who walks into an Apple store on 11/3 or pre-ordered will get one?

Oh it's not there? Fail.

You walk into McDonald's wanting a new hot menu item the day of launch, and they've sold 5,000 of some new menu item and ran out from their delivery. It's not shady marketing because you didn't get the item; there is a finite number they can have ready.

If I'm paying over $1000 for a phone, I expect that I'll get it when Apple PROMISES I'll get it - On their website they specifically say November 3rd. So of course I'm going to cancel a pre-order if they can't uphold their end of the deal.

Carrier is T-Mobile

I'm gonna go get some crackers so you can enjoy them with your whine also...

OP can't read website, orders phone, not happy with shipping date, has evidence that the phone is in high demand, CANCELS THE ORDER, re-orders (seriously?), still can't read the website, and it's Apple's fault.

Yikes.

And just think depending on age this could be someone that could run our country.. No wonder this country is falling apart.. We have a bunch of pansies that get so bent out of shape cause they didn't get a phone when they wanted it..

Wow, are you serious? Have you never witnessed the launch of a product that was in even relatively high demand before? Literally millions of people will be receiving their iPhone Xs on the 3rd. I don't think that's a "lucky few" by any stretch of the imagination. Welcome to the real world.

Have you ever thought to just give Apple a call and reason with them like an adult? Admit your mistake, tell them you accidentally cancelled your order, and they might be able to “un-cancel” it.

I’ve done this before successfully with the first watch preorder and they gave me my old date back. Given numerous reports that T-Mobile preorders falling within that range were pushed up to launch day, it might be worth a shot. Just don’t sound as entitled as you do here when making the call. :)

LMAO. Here’s an analogy for you:
Stores says they’ll open at 9AM.
Does this mean you’ll have your foot in the door at 9AM? No. Does the store promise you everyone will be inside at 9AM? No.
So you get there ahead of the 9AM and there’s a line. You get in line (your first pre-order). You notice you won’t get in the store at 9AM so you get out of line (you cancel your pre-order) thinking somehow you’ll skip the line? Where’s the logic in that?
So you pre-order again (you’re at the back of the line now) and now you’re furious at the store for not letting you cut in front of everyone to be in the store at 9AM? Like, somehow you’re entitled to that privilege because you deserve it more because you made sacrifices (took off work) and are a loyal Apple customer. Well, I’ve got news for you. There are others who are just as loyal, if not more, made sacrifices too, but I don’t see them here being a ****.
