the fact that there's 25 pages about an ICON really says something about mac users...

true...

As a matter of fact you've been wasting 26 pages of time to respond to people who think the icon is ugly. Not to mention if you have to judge my spellings, copy your replies, paste them into somewhere that comes with a spellchecker. Have schools even been started yet?

Edit: Just saying, multiple accounts are not allowed on Mac Rumors. It sounds like you were whining over someone's different opinion, then erroneously predicting people's age.

The musical note, however, is not. The curved musical note makes it look like as if Apple was joking.

That's true, and I see your point. From a graphic design standpoint I think it needs to be curved in order for it to not look like s*** inside of a circle. The one on the iOS is within a square shape with rounded edges so it kind of works. Either way, I still think this means something for the future.

You should e-mail that to Steve. I'd like to see his reaction.

Meatballs: "How do you like this one Steve baby? I think it looks way cooler than your flat blue thing!"

Steve: "I disagree."

I could only conclude that Steve must be blind at that point.

Edit:

I take it back. I saw a bunch of people criticizing your sweet icon and so I can only conclude most Mac people are just tasteless. They probably do want a Black&White interface.

As a graphic designer for over 20 years. I concur: that new logo sucks! It looks like someone created that in about 2 minutes. Let see, "Take generic 2 tone aqua color circle, add musical note . . . . and . . . . there you go! Instant logo. Can I interest you in 20 animated gifs for your web site now?"

I much rather prefer something like this:

P.S. This icon was designed by Chris Carlozzi. He is a link to it.

Wow! Good job! I'm a designer too, and I prefer your design to theirs :)

In my opinion, Apple already went overboard with the default wallpaper on Snow Leopard. ;)

How about this: :p

I will say I liked the old icon because in my windows7 task bar it looked a lot different than other icons. Now that it is round and all in a blue color it just blends a lot easier.

As for iTunes itself I hate the new color set up. It is a lot more difficult to see everything. I used to many go by color when picking things out. Not by shape. I pick out color faster than shape.
Looks like apple is trying to go away from eye candy and go mono color again....

The new icon looks bland and dull, like it was thrown together in 5 mins. The old one had a certain elegance but this one (but even more so the one you are promoting here) looks like staring into a front-loaded washing machine.

Another thing, you don't really think it's actually Steve Jobs himself responding to the e-mails do you?

That's horrible. It looks like an exploded grape. The iTunes logo is now simplified. That heart on the right side of that one makes it look like it was designed by a 6 year old girl. Just throw in a unicorn.

It also has that hint of I-really-like-that-new-QuickTime-logo. Which, I don't. Thank you for the new logo, Steve. I couldn't take any more purple in OS X. I miss the aqua.

Steve replied with a two word response.

Now I would like to respond with a two word response,

WHO CARES!!! It's an icon!

Oops, that's five words. Sorry

All OS X icons are works of art. Stop complaining people! Last time I checked, there wasn't a contest for users to come up with the best looking iTunes icon. So let's do this, of all those complaining. How many can come up with a better icon and post it here. If Steve Jobs likes it, maybe he will use it in 10 years when the new one becomes outdated again..:D

Back to iTunes 9 icon in a few steps

Open iTunes 9, Right Click> Show package contents>resources>Itunes.icns>Copy

Open iTunes 10, Right Click> Show package contents>resources>Itunes.icns>Paste

Remove Itunes Icon from Dock, From Applications, drag the new icon to the Dock

Done. :p
