Whilst waking up to this today hasn't surprised me, I think we all knew it was coming, but it doesn't make the impact of it any less.

Steve had more than just a passion for technology, he had a passion for progress and innovation. Rest in Peace :apple:

Thanks for everything Steve. Your vision and drive were an inspiration. We may never see your like again. It is a lesson to us all what can be achieved if you are one of life's truly great men. I hope you realise the impact you had on so many of us. You will be greatly missed.

Sad news.

I'm really sad and especially thinking that he had (and gave) some hope when fighting cancer, this are the worst news, this gave anyone with cancer the hope that a "cure" was possible, and now he's gone.

At least he made a contribution to the world, he will never be forgotten.

I agree with that 100% :)

What a beautiful, beautiful life.
56 years to change an industry and cause a global impact.
Most could not do it even with a 100 years in hand.

Thanks Steve.

A genius. A modern day Walt Disney. A visionary. A family man. A leader. A nerd. A stubborn man. A hippie. A competitor. A music lover. A :apple:

I started a life in computer graphics when I began using Apple Macs in the late 80's Steve Jobs influenced all of our life's even if you don't like Apple gear, what a sad day. R.I.P. Steve.

We will miss you Steve. I fear apple will not be the same without you. I thank you for all you have done. Your keynote for leopard inspired me to take a change with apple and I have never looked back
Rest in peace and thank you

I siting at work at the moment feeling depressed as hell. Feeling like I should pop down to the apple store in Bullring to pay tribute.

iLove - An Icon That Touched So Many Lives, Including Mine.

I rarely ever post comments on the internet because mostly I don't see the value in getting into what usually amounts to a trivial discussion / debate against other people that I don't know...but I feel it is poignant in what equates to bidding a farewell into the ether of the internets that he was instrumental in creating.

Thanks for the wonderful memories of playing Oregon Trail and Carmen San Diego on my first Apple computer (which was an Apple LC) when I was 6. Thanks for the iPhone and giving me goosebumps at Macworld because I new I was witnessing a major paradigm shift in technology and specifically the technology of cell phones. Thanks for the fun memories of waiting in line with friends in the wee hours of the morning to be a part of the Grand Opening of the flagship retail store in San Fransisco on Stockton Street. But most of all, thanks for your tireless work of marrying inspirational Technology with beautiful Liberal Arts. We have truly lost an icon.

I guess to sum it up, I would just like to say stay hungry, stay foolish...and most importantly, Think Different!!! :apple:

I was going to go in and buy an ipad today. Think I'll wait a bit and order it online with engraving now, I don't want to look like a ghoul.

Few people ever have so big an impact on so many people's lives. Although millions never met him, millions felt they knew him, and that is a special legacy for anyone to leave.

We'll miss you Steve.

I was seduced by Apple in 1996 with an old beige box and then quickly moved on to the harder stuff. Never looked back once.

Steve Jobs was a visionary and a genius, no question. He and only a handful of other people were at the technological forefront of what we take for granted on a daily basis.

This inevitable news is not only sad, but a wake up call as to our own mortality, which we will all forget about in a few days and continue about our lives 'sweating the small stuff'.

Rest in peace.
