My thoughts and prayers go out to his family......

In his words,

"No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

Terrible news, no one deserves to die reaped by a terrible disease like that.

I found these couple of pictures that literally brought tears to my eyes.

Rest in Peace Steve Jobs.

RIP Steve.

I'm sure that everyone including Windows users and people who don't much care for Apple or Steve can admit that Apple, along with Steve Jobs, Microsoft, along with Bill Gates changed the face of computing forever.

Here’s to the crazy one. The misfit. The rebel. The troublemaker. The round peg in the square hole. The one who saw things differently. He was not fond of rules. And had no respect for the status quo. You can quote him, disagree with him, glorify or vilify him. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore him. Because he changed things. He pushed the human race forward. And while some may see him as the crazy one, I see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.

I am thankful that I had the opportunity to work for Apple and, indirectly, Steve Jobs.

Steve has earned his place in history among the world's greatest and will be remembered for a very very long time. He's touched so many of our lives by his genius and his tasteful products. The great die young and the greatest before their time. This is one sad day!

I feel like somebody just slapped me in the face for the past 30 minutes. I'm stunned. Here's a desktop friendly version of the picture on apple's site. This will be my background for awhile, also going to wear my apple shirt tomorrow.

I just can't believe it! I was talking to my friend on Facebook, then he told me the news. I was like ! He was so young and healthy! Then he died! What a sad day. My hopes go to all of Apple for the great work and mostly for Steve for making the best company money can't buy :). We will miss you Steve!

i think it is safe to say there will never be another Steve Jobs in the near future. Everything we touch, Steve had an impact on. RIP Steve Jobs. The Thomas Edison of our lifetime...

Sad. I remember being a child and dreaming of working for Jobs (kinda glad I didn't) but still, sad. **** cancer.

I have so many great things to say about how steve makes me feel, but all of them seem just meaning less now.

Words just fail me. Kind of like the day Lennon died, just empty but so happy to have been around for it all. His laser brightness is already missed.

May you rest in heaven's paradise, Steve.
May God Bless you and your family.

I didn't know you, never even came close to meeting you, but my eyes are filled with tears. Good bye and thanks for all that you did for us.

Truth be told, he is one of three people who steered me towards a career in IT

Bought a Mac Plus in 87 at the age of 13 with a loan from my parents. Started with Apple II's and a TI99 4/A prior to that.

I've always been more of a Woz person but Steve will definitely be missed.

My favorite Steve story: http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2011/08/the-creativity-of-anger/

Many people thanked James Doohan for being their inspiration to get into Engineering. I would like to think that Steve and Woz also inspired more than a few engineers in their time.

Be thankful for your time on this planet. Millions/billions in the bank don't mean anything if you have something money cannot fix.

Inspiration

I am 16 years to the day older than Steve and bought my first computer at the age of 39, an Apple ][. It was his inspiration and products that have made me what I am today, and I mourn his loss. The empty reserved chair at the end of the first row at the keynote takes on a whole new meaning.

You changed my life in ways almost no one else has ever done. I will miss you. Thanks for it all.
