Steve Jobs had style and insight. He was not afraid to look beyond the box and try new things. His vision reflects the apple products we use today and the success of Apple. RIP Steve. You will be missed by everyone. My thoughts are with your family.

Every part of my life has been deeply touched by this man's products in the last few years. To think there was once a time when I was confident Apple was for trendy d-bags and yuppies. I hate to admit it but they were on to something that was better, faster, more efficient, and more thoughtfully designed than ANYTHING the competition will ever make. Peace out Jobs.

As someone who has always admired Apple and has a small collection of vintage Apple products (Mac SE, Portable, eMate, Newton, LC 580, etc) I feel like a part of me is missing today. I don't want to believe the news as I try to imagine what he could have done with a few more decades on this earth. He was this generation's Thomas Edison. No, ...that is an understatement.

Hugs

:apple:

I need to hug my iPods and Pixar movie collection. So sad. Steve, thank you for your innovative products. I feel like going out and buying another out of respect.

RIP Steve Jobs.

:(

RIP Steve

Just like the other millions of Apple fans, our condolences go out to your family. You are already missed. :(

I can't even begin to say how much this saddens me. It's like loosing a close friend. My thoughts and well wishes go out to his family and to the world that lost such a great person.

What a tragic day this is. I never imagined nor hoped this day would ever come. Steve truly revolutionized the way the world thinks about technology. His spirit will forever live on in the hearts of millions of Mac and Apple devices like me around the world. RIP Steve Jobs ... You shall forever be missed !!! :(

R.I.P. Steve Jobs

To Steve Jobs, many thanks for all that you have done to change this world. I know your family, friends, colleagues, and all of us will miss you. Rest in peace.

Can we stop with the "He was buddhist" posts?

Stop all judgement, let people mourn him the way they want.

Agreed

The only thing since hearing that announcement that has given me one smile is looking at the page source over at apple.com

His name and years alive are titled as "t_title"
And the photo of Steve is titled as "t_hero"

What a company :)

He was a hero :apple:

He was indeed a hero.. however 'hero' is used as a term to denote the main image of a promotion, which would be the place holder for that page template.

Rest in peace Steve. So sad to hear this news.

RIP Steve Jobs. He was someone I really really admired. One of my greatest heros you could say. His Stanford Address planted seeds in me that have inspired me and maybe even helped me through some of my hardest times. I felt so connected to some of the struggles we shared. It's hard to express what I mean without talking too much about myself in what is his hour. His influence on me is just behind my faith in God, my family, and my best friend.

You will be greatly missed Steve. :(

I wonder how many people out there truly realize the impact that this man had. This isn't about playing Angry Birds on an iPad or listening to music on an iPhone.

For many of us, it started with the Apple II. How many folks my age used this computer as a learning tool in grade school? Think of all the things this led to.

Think of all the jobs, careers, research, saving of human lives, etc. that have stemmed from everything from the Apple II to the latest Mac Pros and all the various devices.

Not only that... but think of all the OTHER hardware and software from other companies that have been totally shaped by competition with Apple. I expect that Windows 7 and competitor's smart phones would be something totally different w/o Apple providing competition.

It is just baffling to think of the number of lives that are better today because of Steve Jobs.
