He will be missed, both by those that knew him personally and by the millions whose lives he touched through his creativity, ingenuity and vision. No matter how you felt about him, there can be no doubt that he had a huge impact on how millions of people view and use technology. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends, and to everyone at Apple. I'm sure this is a very difficult time for all of them. Rest in peace, Steve.

Can we stop with the "He was buddhist" posts?

Stop all judgement, let people mourn him the way they want.

Steve Jobs died, not the collective attitude of MRs, I guess.

"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it"

Anyway, the title quote sums it up - it's often attributed to Voltaire, but it actually appeard in a biography of Voltaire to summarize his stance.

Like many people here I don't really know what to say except for "Thank you" and "Rest in peace". You'll be missed and Apple will never be the same.

Can we just leave the religion arguments out of this and just honor his work he did? Thanks.

I'm not the bringing up religion, others did by saying that he's now in heaven, etc. This is as disrespectful as saying that an atheist is in heaven, or that a Christian is with Allah now.

But I agree with you. I hope people will leave the religious arguments out.

I wasn't going to post in this thread, as I have nothing to add, but I can't refrain.

RIP Steve. We lost a great man today.

All good things...

It is inevitable and unfair that all good things come to an end.

We know your legacy. We know your contributions. We will miss you.

Tears of a Fangirl

I found out while carrying my iPad 2. My knees buckled. Very sad.

Thanks Mr. Jobs for my livelihood (FCP) and iDevices that have changed my and so many peoples' lives.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

- Steve Jobs

May you rest in peace. We'll keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayer.

Attn: Mr T. Cook

Just remember you live in the house that Steve built.

Don't tear it to pieces like the previous tenants did.

The landlord/s "All of us Apple children" is/are watching.

Rest in piece Papa Steve.

Steve's vision has yet more to be revealed

I have been so inspired by the brilliance of this man. His vision will live on and progress in Apple in things yet to come.
