Is anyone else somewhat offended that Larry Page and Eric Shmidt have spoken up, considering how he felt they had betrayed him and were trying to destroy what he built?

He will go down in history with the greatest of the greats. Einstein, Graham Bell, Edison, Jobs.

The world is crying.

Steve you really inspired me, you are my hero and you will be missed greatly. :apple: Apple is one of the worlds greatest creations. You changed the way the world works. Rest in peace steve. We will miss you! Btw I'm crying and idk why…I didn't even cry when my grandpa died.

I'm so sad. He brought me to my life long partner. Steve, you were such an inspiration. RIP

Yesterday, as I watched the iPhone presentation, I thought everyone looking off was due to nerves. I mean, they were doing their first keynote without their 'magical' ingredient, but in light of today's news, it's pretty easy to see why they looked the way they did.

Love him or hate him, Steve Jobs was pretty much the integral component in shaping the technological lives we live today. His legacy lives on in the many households that own a personal computer, a smartphone, a digital media player etc. While he necessarily did not create all of these things himself, he pushed boundaries and took risks that have enabled us to break into realms that otherwise would not be possible. If this man had died at birth, and not at the young age of 56, the world would truly be an entirely different (and decidedly more stagnant) place.

Rest in peace Steve, thanks for everything.

Goodbye Steven, your body may be dead, but your soul will live on forever in heart of me, and and the hearts of everyone else you have touched. You will be missed.

I'm speechless right now. I feel as sick and depressed as the day of 9/11. RIP Steve, you will truly be missed.

Damnit.

The first thing I said in response was, "**** that.".

RIP Steve. You were an absolutely astonishing person. The world will miss you.

Sad day for the family and friends, but for every fan of computers and gadgets. Rest in peace, Steve!

.... it's quite surreal that he's gone, as crazy as it sounds but I'm actually a bit melancholic about it without having known him personally (obviously).
I always was a bit over the top excited to see what he was going to present whenever he hit the stage again... all those years. It has been a crazy last decade to see him turn around that old company of his, create "awesome" and "magical" products and truly leave the competition no choice but to copy.

Thanks Steve, I'll never forget the striving for perfection that you exemplified like nobody else.

I hope I can stay as "hungry and foolish" as he recommended

Today, a titan falls.

Thanks, Steve Jobs, for that fantastic run. From that little garage in California to Apple to Pixar to NeXT to Apple to the iPhones and the MacBooks, you changed the world, and for the better.

"Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify and vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as crazy, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do."

The video defined Apple. It defined all the great people in the world. But it was missing one important person. And that was Steve Jobs.

Thanks, for pushing the world into the new technological age, of iPhones and iPads and Macbook Airs.

Thanks, for making the world a better place.

You will be missed, by your friends, by your family, by everyone from your family to your nonexistent enemies.

Your 24 years of living with Apple have been the best the world has ever seen.

Oh. And also. Screw you, cancer.

-From my Macbook Pro, the best computer I ever had and ever will have.

Agreed

The only thing since hearing that announcement that has given me one smile is looking at the page source over at apple.com

His name and years alive are titled as "t_title"
And the photo of Steve is titled as "t_hero"

What a company :)

He was a hero :apple:

Noticed it when I linked the picture on facebook, but didn't have the focus to actually realize why it was.

Very sad.
Remember the computer bus coming to my school as a kid, using my first Apple.

Remember the first time I saw Logic Audio on a Mac and buying my first Mac at Sears... Performa 6200... Logic 2.6... Mac OS 8.6

Remember being at Macworld for OSX...

So many other memories...

You changed my life in so many ways.
It's just not fair that you're gone.

You'll always be my inspiration.
