It's so very sad, thank you and goodbye Steve.

Looking at this picture it was clear that he was VERY ill.

My youngest daughter is on the autism spectrum and she uses an iPad to learn how to read and speak. Both daughters attend an elementary school with iMacs in the classrooms that assist teaching a wide range of subjects. Thank you, Steve, from my family and all of us.

I'm not superstitious, but certainly not an atheist. I wasn't able to sleep properly last night, and was feeling depressed since morning. And the first thing I learn is this.

All I would say is he changed me by his vision, his keynotes his quotes and the excellent job he has done at Apple, right from the day he founded it till the day he responsibly resigned as CEO. I really can't imagine what the world would had been without the Apple II or the Mac or the iPod.

He is a true hero, and a man who always lived with a high forehead. And although I am very saddened by this, I am happy he died as a hero, after living a very satisfied life, and changing the life of millions like me.

R.I.P., Steve. We will miss you.

Thanks for the magic.

RIP Steve Jobs,

You were an inspiration to so many people and this will carry on for a very long time.

This is a very sad day for the world.

Steve Jobs was the biggest technology pioneer of the late 20th and early 21st century. When i heard of his passing, I was in complete shock. I froze up and didn't know what to think besides "this can't be happening". Through out my whole life Steve has always been a big source of inspiration to me. Steve was not only the CEO of a great company that he built from the ground up but he was also a great human being who always but others before himself. Steve re-defined the computer industry by launching Mac computers. Without Mac's, there would be no user friendly computers. If it wasn't for the iPod, the mobile music industry wouldn't have flourished the way it did. Without the iPad, tablets would be years behind in technology and without the iPhone, there would be almost no smart phone industry. Although Steve has passed on, his spirit will always remain in the Apple company. Steve was a intellectual genius and visionary/creative genius. I will always remember Steve and what he did for apple. Getting over the loss of such a great man will be hard, but Apple will continue to make the great technological advanced that it always has. I send my deepest condolences and sympathy to all of Steves family, friends and people in the apple family. Rest in Peace Steve, you will never be forgotten...

Well i wasn't happy at all to wake up and read this. In fact, this news got me very sad. And I never even knew the man. Rest in peace.

Thank you for the music, Steve Jobs you changed the way we live our lives and enhanced the way we spend our leisure time. Amongst other things. R.I.P. :apple:

I'm 23 years old, an American, and I live in South Korea.

I still remember my first Apple product like it was yesterday. My father bought me an iPod in high school (Blue illuminating screen with those orange illuminating touch buttons. Remember how beautiful that thing was?). I fell in love with Apple at a young age, and since, have let this company interweave with my life.

The news today has really made me stop, think, and reflect just how much I feel like I've grown up with this company. I don't think of Apple as a corporation alone (that evokes feelings of a cold, business relation) but of a group of people who are passionate for excellence, and difference.

So many great things came from a man who was so devout to a vision. Hard working, passionate, and just all around rare individual and a human being.

Thank you Steve for everything you did. You've earned every ounce of respect you should get, and you've changed the world to come.

May you have your rest, and may your family have the privacy they deserve.

He has been responsible for a lot of the directions that my life has taken and for that I am nothing but grateful.

It's just not fair.

RIP Steve.

I haven't logged on to my MacRumors account in just over 3 years until today. I never felt the need to post anything and was happy just reading. I am so devastated from this news that I had to post something, anything. I always knew this day would come but I think I somehow fooled myself into thinking that it couldn't. Steve seemed to be able to overcome anything he set his sights on. I think I assumed that his illness would be no different. I hope he is at peace and my thoughts are with his wife and family. Thank you Steve, for showing me what a computer should be like all those years ago. Thank you for inspiring me and countless others like me. Thank you for being "crazy enough" to change the world for the better. We'll miss you.

Apple user, supporter, and fan for 27 years and counting.
