4-Steve. The world is now a poorer place. You were a bright light in a dim business. Failure nor success can touch you now. Rest in peace and may your family seek solace in your legacy!

RIP Steve, one of the greatest innovators of all time.

Many of you know how Apple, Steve Jobs and this forum were a big part of some hugely significant life changes for me. This is very somber news to wake up to.

Sad.

I am so angry.

I am just so angry right now towards life and disease. It is always the good ones that go and it is just not

right. Why is life like this???? Why???? I feel like a lost a true friend..... this is ridiculous.....

This should not have happened to him. Life is truly unfair.

Sad just does not cover what I feel...... I am sorry Steve.

I did not know you personally but I feel like I did.

Love KK

RIP Steve

PS: I still know you will be here forever and ever!!!!!:apple:

Incredible

Thousands of comments. Palpable sadness. Top headlines throughout the world. This is the passing of something special. The man worked SO hard for SO long to teach us all that we can do anything if we just believe in something, and if we try to look for the beauty in the world around us. He brought joy to millions of people with his studio. Hundreds of millions with his company's devices. And in the end, we all owe him for helping us to have the easy experiences with technology that we have today. If not for him, there's a chance that only scientists would even know what an internet, GUI, or wi-fi even is. Sad to see him leave us, but thank God he was here.....

Very sad news (however not unexpected). My thoughts with his family & friends.

Terms like "visionary", "genius", etc. are used all too often in today's media, usually undeservingly so. Not in Steve Jobs case. He was a remarkable guy, whose vision will live on in many ways.

RIP Steve. I am saddened and shocked to be waking up to this news in the UK.

A true legend and visionary in the Tech World, the likes of which we will probably never see again.

At peace now, no longer suffering.

After spending most of my life up to my early teen years on Windows machines, I had one feeling about computers. They just don't work. I am very knowledgable with Windows machines, whether fixing a family/friends computer or working on my personal customs builds, I had definitely had "some" expertise within this area. Even with all that I knew, keeping my computer clean and having hardware speeds that would blow any Macintosh out of the water, it still didn't work the way I wanted it. That is when I came to realize that it is not only the hardware that's makes a computer, but it is the software as well. Just like they say in film production, "sound is half the movie." The same applies to a PC (personal computer), software is half the computer. It was this thinking that led me to trust in the products you made and innovated with your outstanding vision. I thought I would give you the same chance that I had given windows even after it had failed me time after time. Because of this, I bought my first MacBook about four years ago and haven't looked back since. From iMac's to iPads, your products have blown me away every single time. I welcome all technology, not just Apple, but it is clearly a fact that Apple has reached the closest to achieving technology perfection. For this very reason, Apple and you Steve Jobs, have left an impact on my life greater than one could ever imagine. May you rest in peace and my prayers are extended to your family for a time to come. The very fact that I am truly sad of your death, even though I have never personally met you, says something about the character and legacy you leave behind. You will be missed by me and the millions of people who relish the work you've done, the products you created and the person you are. Good bye.

Thank you and rest in peace

Dear Steve,

Thank you for you vision, your care for detail your passion for perfection you have inspired us all to aim higher and achieve the imagined.

PS

So the truth about the latest iPhone name is now clear:

4s = for Steve
