Geeze, I avoided this forum for a while, and after adding other's observations to my own.

Bleh. This service stinks. The ad -- who wants to watch a 350 lb woman bounce to whatever that song is?

And Tommy Lee...I mean really...who actually gives a crap about Tommy anymore except for the women out there who don't care how gross a guy is as long as he's rich and has a *** ****?

Do these people represent "the rest of us"?

The front is SO iTMS like...it's lame. If you're going to copy the commercials, fine. But when your main page is a ripoff...I think that makes you a ripoff.

And...my GOD...Windows Media Player as your music manager? Does ANYONE use that crap to manage their music?

I think the "Windows RG" version of WMP was too damn accurate.

BTW, I heard the happy couple on Howard Stern on the way back -- I never listen to Stern but I wanted to hear this. Yes, t's true, both of them are idiots.

Windows users aren't going to care for this. It just flat out isn't goint to make people whip their wallets out. No way.

Don't worry Windows world -- we're coming to save your sorry ass platform YET AGAIN...this time directly.

I think we're all waiting for Arn to tell us what song to download (from the previous thread about Billboard tracking the downloads). ;)

Yeah! You know, this could be huge, if it spread to all the Mac sites, considering what happened with the Steve Jobs poll (and, now, with the TechTV poll).

I'm sure I saw a Monty Python track that went for a couple of seconds - make that a .01c track!

Bingo! :p

Actually, any credit card charge under 99¢ is reportedly not cost-effective.

Which is why the 79¢_song prices are just a stupid publicity stunt...

it works for me.
all it is is a green page with "you heard me" typed on it.

If he just got it then it probably hasn't fully registered yet with all the servers. It might be a few more hours or tomorrow till everyone can access it.

EDIT: It should say "Load this!" :D

I get it working.

The Revolution that wasn't even Evolution

Sure, wma is a more popular format. But sheer numbers do not mean much. I mean, cochroaches have humans significantly outnumbered. That's about the only thing BuyMusic has going for it. It supports wma. And that's not a lot.

I admit, on my pc at work, I use Windows Media Player to sort all my music. But then again that's because I don't want to download or install anything else. But I'd rather be using Quicktime 6 and iTunes 4 for Windows.

And that would be about the only reason anyone would... :)

God that service stinks. I don't even understand why they would bother with such crap when it is so inferior to the alternative -- OH! Wait!! Precedent is as important in business as it is in law:

Windows.

Maybe the new Ben Folds EP ? It is only available via ITMS, from him on tour, and on vinyl from certain smaller record stores.

Imagine if we pushed something that isn't even available in other billboard-tracked markets to the top of the online sales charts!
Good plan, except that Ben Folds sucks.

I'll pretend you didn't say that.

Ben Folds is a musical prodigy! The industry needs more talented people like him.

On a related note, somebody from benfolds.org commented on attempting to download the EP from buymusic.com today:

What the...

"For sale as individual tracks only."

"*Tracks for this album are not available for individual sale."

Which is it huh????

i thought that was quite funny ;)

i hate to say it.. but the search engine for buymusic.com worked for me,
i know im saying what other already have
but what a RIP OFF, could u get any worse??
and the fact tht i did not see ONE sonf for 75c , only 99c and ABOVE
if this does not fail i will lose faith with humanity:D

hey thx. this seems like really good publicity.

And yeah, i own boycottbuymusic.com...

I am hoping to maybe turn it into a community type website with people talking about online music, the better services. and maybe debates about online music, the RIAA, fave-esque topics etc.

I am also looking for people to help me set this up, but as of now i do not have access to the hosting...
