If it's true it's certainly a massive honour for anyone to be considered for a British knighthood, especially a foreigner.

Personally I think Steve Jobs is a very deserving candidate.

Brown was and probably still is a business hating, socialist, two faced git. I would not be at all surprised if SJ refused to attend on of his events nor would I be surprised if Brown blocked him because of it.

Hopefully we will not be hearing from him or his party for a very long time.

It's too bad, too. Being knighted is so much cooler than, e.g., a statue or a key to a city. If this rumor is true, GB has cheapened the coolest way to be honored.

Bill gates donates money to deduct taxes, Steve Jobs helps but he doesn't make a fuss about it.

Did you know that a huge number of wealthy individuals in the US donate money to charity to avoid taxes?

However what they don't do is establish a major philanthropic foundation and then bother to support it by traveling the globe speaking about it and trying to convince other people to contribute too.

The rest of them sit at one of their many homes or on their yacht and wait for the tax refund.

Steve Jobs does squat by comparison. Even before he was ill. It's one thing to write a check and then pat yourself on the back and another to actually get off your ass and make the effort to see how you can help around the world.

Like I said. If Steve signs the pledge then you can compare them, but right now the difference is that Gates is willing to give away most of his wealth to good causes and Steve isn't.
