I liked it, But I thought it was a Sharon Stone type of thing, "I'm not going play games with fashion trends" - I'll just wear something that works and feels good.

Hearing that they are all custom made but some designer just for him, and not off the shelf at Gap, sort of wrecks that notion.:(

I actually like that he had custom turtlenecks made just for him...

That would mean he would need to do wash (if he did them all at once) about 4 times a year.. that's nothing.

Um...washing 100 shirts (and what about the jeans?) 4 times a year is still an undertaking. Consider that a typical washing machine would take 10 shirts at a time...30 mins per wash...that's 300 mins or 5 hours just to wash. Then each drying cycle would take about 50 mins...or 500 mins just to dry...about 8 hours. So 13 hours each "wash", and "wash" 4 times a year. :) Again, that's just shirts.

I would not want to sit around my house for 13 hours washing shirts...even if it was only 4 times a year. Of course he could have numerous machines and/or people to do his laundry. :)

You're all assuming that he does his own laundry, and that he dosen't just hire a third party service to dry clean them for him :/

He could have picked something a bit.... Better....

I mean, as long as he was comfortable.

Whatever you want to call it, it made Steve relatable and memorable to say the least! All that genius in an everyday kinda man. If he was a corporate stuffed shirt telling all of us that "You will love this and be willing to pay 3 times the price as my competitors!" ...would we have really listen? Master Genius .... make them laugh at your wardrobe choices and still sell have them pay a $1500 base price for a laptop! Looooooove it!!!!!!!:apple:

I don't think St. Croix is claiming to be the original designer, they are just paying tribute to Steve Jobs and saying that he was a fan of St. Croix. Theoretically he could have one item from them, or have corresponded with them at some point and they could say that qualifies him as being a 'fan.'

St. Croix claims that he bought from them regularly and it was their turtlenecks he wore.

You think a billionaire (a married one, at that) does his own laundry?

"Gotten" is a awful word, i dont even think its a word, silly americanisms

They don't have dictionaries in England?

gotten |ˈgätn|
past participle of get .
USAGE As past participles of get, the words got and gotten both date back to Middle English.

he wore a European brand (VONROSEN) cashmere sweater when he came back from sick leave and black shoes. I remember the owner of the company said after the key note their site instantly sold out of that particular sweater.

"$616 black cashmere sweater maker swamped after Steve Jobs wears one on stage"

I wish I hadn't read that, I feel some of Job's mystery has left him now, however cute the story was.

Saying that though, I would like a turtle neck sweater in black.

If apple sold turtlenecks with logos on them in every color of the sock cases they had for the nanos... I WOULD SO BUY A SET! :D

If any more excerpts are released, I may not have to buy the book. It's like the publisher said "Let's release all the details that most readers want the most, before the book is released!"
