Watch them upgrade the iPad already.

That would take the piss and throw some ****. I can't imagine anything so earth shattering with the iPhone, but some people love their video chat.

We'll see.

I just cleared out the pics from my iPad and it said sync pics and videos using iTunes. Sheesh apple really needs to get. In the could iTunes should only be used as a secure back up to ur media files and also for updating the iPad/iPhone.

- iPhone 4G (HD?)
- More OS4 features (stuff they couldn't announce before)
- iPad-specific OS4 features (I think that's coming. That's why it's taking longer)
- New Macs?
- MobileMe going free? iTunes online?
- AppleTV?

I think Apple's going to have a blowout conference. It's easy to forget how old the 3GS (and 3.0) is. Apple are on overdrive right now, so I think we may see all of the above.

I expect Apple to ditch the AppleTV's current form.

I'm getting excited :) iPad's on it's way and WWDC soon after!

exactly what i was thinking, because they know we have seen the new iphone. they know they have to step it up i always knew they would give a preview of os 4.0 for ipad , the thing is that for iphone they have to do something i wonder what they could achieve.

on a side note if they do upgrade the ipad early i will be super pissed.

We will see a ipad os 4.0 at the keynote. Mark my post

Is nobody else thinking this beef between Apple and Google is contrived to keep the Antitrust groups off their backs?

All this scrapping between them seemed to kick off almost overnight as they had spent many years coexisting peacefully. Jobs and Schmidt still meet up in public places. It just doesn't seem to make any sense to me at all...

I have been thinking of the same thing...two best friends on a pretend fight to keep others at bay.

Do Brits even talk like this - o boy, did that mofo just diss you?

I think he meant to say:

Top of the morning to you, Stevo. What you going to do about those bloody, fish and chips eating blokes at Google. They sure are going all red rag to the bull here. Maybe you could have Eric over for a spot of tea. Then you can snog and make up.

You have no idea how stupid you sound, if you came to england and said that you would be laughed at or beaten up.

THis is what's going to happen:

1) Apple announce the date of iPhone OS 4

2) Apple announce a new iPod. Something out of this world making the iPod with click wheel obsolete.

3) iPad will replace iPod Touch.

4) iPhone changes carrier.

5) The new iPhone will not be the one is all over the place and Steve will put the same picture we all know on the keynote as a joke.

6) The MacBook Air will become the Macbook Touch (Dual Display) Mac OS X Touch edition. The Mac OS X LION.

7) it will be on stores in january 2012

8) One more thing.... Steve announce his retirement.

9) Mass Suicide in audience.

10) some freak shot steve in the head screaming: DAMN YOU APPLE!!! LONG LIVE CYDIA!!!!

11) Google announce Nexus 2

And we Americans don't speak with proper English? What the hell are y'all drinking over there?

Also: how is that any way to talk to a CEO? I would of emailed him back and told him to try again and more properly this time.

Tom Hicks is a CEO of several things I believe and that guy deserves to be shot in the FACE..........

and I dont mean with a gun.

You know what dude don't buy any Apple products. With that kind of attitude, your the baby and should be kicked out of any apple store you walk into. Do you innovate what have you ever done? It's amazing someone even has to open your eyes to this. Wake up better yet show some respect. Yeah........RESPECT

Does your mommy know you're using the computer?

Free MobileMe? Unlikely, considering that Apple doesn't sell your browsing history to third parties to cover the cost.

New Mac Pros? Unlikely, considering the current Intel manufacturing bottlenecks.

Any other new Macs? I doubt it, although I can't give a good reason.

So what is it that won't disappoint us?

Apple TV? Well, with Google entering the fray, I think Apple will have to give it up as a hobby. So, I see it either being cancelled, or the service seriously upgraded. Considering that Apple seems to be getting more into multimedia distribution and integration, I suspect the latter. Buy or rent a movie, and you can view it on your iPad, your iPod, your iPhone, your Mac or your TV, with the Apple TV being the wireless device that streams your content to any or all of them. Just load the content onto your Apple TV, and tell it which device(s) you want to use it on, and it will automatically load it onto them, as well. However, I suspect that this will not be seen until an iTunes event in the fall.

That just leaves the iPhone. Jobs must have something up his sleeve to justify this claim, although he has previously overstated the significance of coming announcements. I am wondering how all of this ties in with the shape of the new iPhone. Why would Apple make the back flat, when this makes the phone less ergonomic and less visually appealing? I keep coming back to the idea that the flat back of the phone is a second touch surface, particularly for use with applications like video chat, so your hand is not in the way of the front-facing camera. Of course, Apple will tout this as being revolutionary, just as it did with the Magic Mouse (are we getting just a bit too Disney-ish, Steve? I mean, I know you are the largest shareholder of the pixie dust corporation, but really, does that mean that you have to talk like Tinkerbell?).

I think there will be a few other surprises in iPhone OS, as well, to address many of the perceived advantages of Android. But that's about it, for now. So, whether you will be disappointed will depend entirely on whether you are looking for something other than iPhone/iPad enhancements.

i think it will just be contact and cal sync. the more they get people using it the more will buy the full service. which i think will drop to 70$. so entirely free? no but part of it? yes

but i agree with the rest of your post

Promises are cheap, especially when there's no punishment for not keeping them. And with every new "sent from my iPhone" mail that's being published I more and more believe that Apple is run by a five-year old megalomanic.

Pretty impressive record for a 5yo, even if he's a megalomanic. And in his own words: what have you created recently?

To this, Steve Jobs reportedly replied "You Won't Be Disappointed".

Thereby assuring that the block of MR readers that have zero business experience and nothing to do all day but dream of unicorns and other fantastical inventions will, in fact, be sorely and utterly disappointed, regardless of what Jobs announces, and will commence their bleating at 9:06am Pacific, on June 7, and they shall continue for 30 days hence or the latest ATT contract news, which ever comes first. :D

The problem for Apple is that there is a slew of Tegra 2 and Atom D6 phones and tablets coming out in the next few months, all with Android 2.2 and all with great browsers with full web capability (including Flash).

Which will (if history is a guide) get 2.5 hours of battery life running that Flash and get hot enough to fry an egg on.

The more people buy and use Flash-less iPhones and iPads, the more they realize missing Flash is a minor, occasional inconvenience more than a deal-killer. Which is becoming even more rare as more and more sites move to Flashless alternatives (HTML5, dedicated native apps).

I was having dinner with some folks last night, non-technos, and they were complaining about the lack of flash support. They could care less about Sreve Jobs letter or Adobe letter, they want to view sites.

iphone OS has a loooonnngggg way to go before its comparable with Android, so far OS 4 hasnt added anything that puts it in the same league.
