1. Carrier. AT&T sucks, but you knew that.

When will people stop repeating this as if it was a fact ?

Cell service varies by location for every cell company. No cell company is the best or worst everywhere. Please get a clue or at least say "1. Carrier. AT&T sucks (for me)"

Heh, sorry, it kinda got away from me (also, where's my $9.99! :D).

Short version: Google want volume (higher ad revenue), Apple want profit from the hardware. Apple innovate in consumer space, Google target feature set. Both are valid ways of doing business but not necessarily competing in the same market sectors. Apple will surely have new products / service to offer but will probably continue doing the unexpected rather than competing on features.

Plus, fanboys are annoying.

this is what i gathered from skimming the post. as for the $9.99 I dont know how apple pays out monies owed but u will see it soon :D

i doubt this very much. my iphone 3g works fine all over europe (east and west), russia. south america. the only problems i've had were in nyc and sf, romania and mexico city. thus i believe dropped calls are a problem of the network/provider, and not of the antennae.

this is correct. tho i was talking about no service. the reason why you drop calls in major cities with 5 bars is cause like a website the bandwidth is being overloaded. tho its still partly apples fault due to the iphone using more bandwidth then needed. tho apparently i heard (forgot where) that either 4.0 or the new iphone will handle data better

Is this a way to talk to a CEO? I feel sorry for that guy, you should know your position. Even if I was a CEO from some Apple rival I wouldn't write like that.

We will see what Apple will bring, I hope they blow off some things but nobody knows.

Sounded very much like a PR response on SJ's part

(Or was it SJ himself?)

I hope we'll get something that'll make us do more than "meh..."

You're a brand and proud of it? Marketers love people like you.

I had my dislikes about PC's for years. I've owned my fair share of them to really not like the whole function on how you interact with the system. When a friend of mine showed me his MacBook Pro and how it works and how it didnt have any of the problems that PC's have I was sold on the Mac. The whole "I'm a Mac" thing I adopted after I switched because I like my MacBook Pro way better than any PC I ever owned. I would 100% buy another Apple Computer when I need one because they are a better product, and that goes with the Hardware and software. Yes, I don't mind paying alittle bit more for a Mac. I know people do flame on that point from time to time. But like I've told people before you get what you paid for, and if your hard on the stuff you buy then almost anything won't last long at all.

Not necessarily true. I can still get 10 full hours of battery life on iPad watching videos the entire time (same as if I were web surfing or word processing or playing games or anything else), and the Netflix and ABC streaming apps don't seem to drain it any faster (although I haven't run a full battery charge on these).

Adobe keeps promising this mobile Flash that's going to solve all the problems with battery consumption, heat, and crashiness, but they've been promising it for years now and still haven't delivered it.

Fair enough. But I think it's also fair to say you're free to buy another device/OS if you need Flash that badly, Apple's quite clear about that, they're convinced most people won't care enough to hurt their sales.

I think Steve said that the biggest battery hog was the screen, it didn't matter whether you were surfing or watching video.

As long as Apple doesn't follow GoogleIO's lead and diss the competition the whole time while unveiling a bevy of vaporware products, it won't disappoint.

Because Apple's ads *never* takes jabs at said company.

No

'Taking the piss' is a phrase we use in the UK. It means 'yo boy, did that mofo just diss you?!' or in another way 'Google are really pushing their luck, what are you going to do to get them back?'

And we Americans don't speak with proper English? What the hell are y'all drinking over there?

Also: how is that any way to talk to a CEO? I would of emailed him back and told him to try again and more properly this time.

Um ok? Not at all what I meant by my post but alright.

Considering this post I would guess that a fair number of Americans don't speak English properly. :D

They did kind of invent the language over there ya know.

CEO or not Steve is just a man, deserving of no more respect than anyone else.

Yo bitch u spelt my name wrong :p

Also I think it was lunch time in the states when the reply came back. He was probably on the toilet.

Yo Briana, I am actually curious about your experience with the Desire (it's basically a slightly lower-end version of the Incredible, right?) Where can we read about your (biased?) experience?

I am actually looking to dump my 3Gs and jump on the Android bandwagon, but want something with a larger screen and OS 2.2. The EVO looks promising, but it's 2.1 and I am hoping for Tegra2 or Atom D6 in a few months.

I think you've just disproved the point you were failing to make. Nice try though :D.

Grammatical fail. I have AN HDTV...

unless i'm mistaken I was always taught "AN" was used when the word following began in a vowel...so unless H is a vowel or different rules are used for acronyms I think I'll stand by what I said, but I'd be happy to be cleared up on the matter...love to learn new stuff

Happy Are

I are happy be, that, Sieve letters anweres him news positive such great!

I don't get why people feel the need to curse at Steve Jobs all the time hahaha. Even in praise, there's no need for that kind of language. If I were the head of a major corporation like that, I would just completely disregard any e-mail like that. If you can't converse without cursing, stick to Facebook messaging.

I think the guy just tried to sound cool. Though I do agree, using foul language usually isn't going to aid your cause.

i dont think the letter h is a vowel

No it is not. Nevertheless, since HDTV is an acronym, you pronounce it by spelling the individual letters. Since the letter "h" is spelled starting with the sound of letter "a," it is perfectly correct to use an indefinite article an in front of HDTV.

Well, we need some way to use the iPhone and iPad without a computer, a good web service could do just that. iAd based free service would be cool.
