Mortgage it!

Apple can conserve cash flow by mortgaging the approximately $100,000,000 cost of construction of the new Apple campus so the average ROI on investments which exceed the 30 year mortgage rate right now, and can be locked in, will assure non-operational income in perpetuity, and throw off tax deductions.

Most stories are putting the price tag on the new Apple space doughnut between $600M and $1000M.... Other stories estimate a price tag of $460M just for the land purchases - before the spaceship construction starts.

You're roughly a factor of ten below those guesses.

The concept of a round building is efficient on several levels from employee interaction, to land use, to energy use, to human factors such as access to natural light and a nice view. I suspect this building will become increasingly appreciated over time by plenty of non-Apple fans.

Now that Chinese labor rates are catching up with ours, maybe in a decade or so Apple will build a similar building for manufacturing somewhere in TX or OH.

Once again, Apple is holding out on us. I have it on good authority that the REAL New Apple Campus looks like this…

Oh yeah.....

That looks like the kind of legacy Steve would like to leave - a building you can see from the moon.

But won't people in the long run be working from home or the coffee shop?

I still hope the campus is secretly a giant apple logo.

I see the UK GHCQ has a big donut building already.

Ironic that the UK donut building was designed by US architects

...while Apple's donut building was designed by UK architects.

Are people commissioning major architectural works afflicted with the "Not Invented Here" syndrome??

In this case, it's just ego over everything else.
