LOL

A real ninja wouldn't have had them detected though...Sorry Steve, back to ninja basics with you...

But Master, why can't I bring throwing stars on my own private plane?

Ah, Machopper, you have much to learn since 9/11...

Now bring me that cauldron of boiling water... it's time for my tea... and use your arms to carry it!

But Master!!!...

I agree with Jobs. That IS insane. If I wanted to bring an M16 and 10,000 rounds of ammo onto my private jet, who the hell are the Japanese or anyone for that matter to say that I can't. It's my freakin' plane. I could run it into the ground and that'll do a lot more damage than any ninja throwing stars might.

1. Steve Jobs doesn't fly the plane, a pilot does. It is quite conceivable that the armed owner of a plane goes mad and forces the pilot to do things that he wouldn't normally do.

2. If you fly that plane with an M16 and 10,000 rounds of ammo to the USA, I think heavily armed police will be waiting for you.

3. I do not believe that this was Steve Jobs without evidence. I can't see him being the type who has any intent to own Ninja stars; he is rich enough to have someone take care of his luggage and that person would have put the weapons into the hold of the plane; and he wouldn't be so idiotic to refuse to ever visit Japan again because of such an incident. There are plenty of newspapers that wouldn't have any problems making up stuff.

Except ....

Apparently, he's used to it, driving around a car for years with no license plates on it and all.... :p

On one hand, Jobs has a very good point: Only the zero-tolerance/zero-intelligence policies of the security theater that takes place at airports these days would prevent him from taking something like this with him on his own plane.

On the other hand, it shows how removed from everyday life Jobs (or anyone at his level of wealth and power) is, to assume that he wouldn't/shouldn't have to deal with this nonsense.

"As your leader, I encourage you, from time to time and always in a respectful manner, to question my logic. If you're unconvinced a particular plan of action I've decided is the wisest, tell me so! But allow me to convince you. And I promise you, right here and now, no subject will ever be taboo … except, of course, the subject that was just under discussion. The price you pay for bringing up the iphone 4 signal issue as a negative is – I collect your ****ing head. Just like this ****er here. Now, if any of you sons of bitches got anything else to say, now's the ****ing time!"

as already commented in the other thread, this would only apply if private jets had a separate boarding area from other flights, which this airport doesn't have.
so the actions of security where perfectly justified in this case.

Your point two stands.

So they apparently don't let you check your luggage for private jets either. Guess if you own your own jet, you better pack light. Good thing Steve wears the same outfit everyday or he would be screwed.

The airport should have different boarding procedures for private aviation. Obviously there is no reason to screen for weapons a guy is going to carry onto his own plane! There's no such thing as "checking" luggage on your own plane!

That said, Jobs should have checked on the airport's accommodations ahead of time before choosing to use that airport.

So basically if this is real, Japan is going a little crazy, what next pencils. Unlike most normal people, a pencil is absolutely a dangerous weapon jajaja.

I thought Steve Jobs went to Japan to study Zen Buddism.

Instead, he is studying to be a Ninja Master.

I think he should not only not visit Japan ever again, but stop selling Apple in Japan. That will teach them...

Introducing the Ninja Star Nano.."it's amazingly thin can kill up to 2 thousand bad guys and it fits right in your pocket...Isn't that great???" "Available for preorder.....today"

Ok, this is one of those things that at first glance sounds ridiculous. But when thought out thoroughly, it makes total sense. Chances are that he would have had access to public areas and *could* use the weapons to force his way onto another plan and hijack it or cause damage to other passengers.
