Steve Jobs Resigns as Apple CEO

The Telegraph (UK) is reporting that Apple shares have been suspended, presumably to avoid a run....but several on here are saying that the price is still moving....could anyone more familiar with how the US market works explain?

Apple Is Nothing Without Steve he was the heart of the company,

I have a bad feeling about it.
 
Wow, i don't even know words to describe this. Maybe it had something to do with that rumour about the board exploring a CEO succession plan, that steve called hogwash? I just hope he is healthy! Best wishes Steve!!
 
Steve has always been strategic in the timing of press releases, maybe this means a big product announcement is just around the corner, sooner rather than later.

Steve has served Apple and the tech world well. Thanks Steve

Agreed. As long as he is an employee of Apple, he will have the final word. Not because of his position in the company, but because of his wisdom and valued opinion. It's Cook's company now, but Steve will still play a large role.
 
Granted, he did good for the computer industry ( as well as a few mistakes along the way ).

But the way some of the posters on here regard him... it's like he invented the cure for cancer.

Oh, the irony.

LOL if you actually believe this. Shame on you for taking credit away from all the real innovators and engineers who designed the actual products.
 
I have to say that this doesn't surprise me, but it is very sad. I was sitting in my college cafeteria when the news broke on CNN- didn't really know what to think. I tweeted about it before Engadget though.

I hope Jobs still does keynotes- I just hope it isn't Tim doing them. Phil or Ives would be much better, IMHO.

I wish you the best Steve, and I am happy to see this day come and know that you're still alive, as I thought you would never leave Apple until you died.
 
maybe hes leaving after all the earthquakes and 2012 rumors sparking up...!!! time to hide out in a shelter being created under ground or the spaceship looking facility is actually a UFO to fly out of earth... lol 😛?? "with all the money he has why not"

Trading was suspended pending the release of the news. After a while, the aftermarket trading resumed (this is trading after 4 pm Eastern Standard Time) and thus you are seeing the price movement.
 
I feel like the day Disney died. While his company continued to grow, kept a quality product, and remained profitable, something was lost. They were never able to recreate that white-hot, game changing creativity. We only get one Walt Disney and we'll not get another Steve Jobs. Stay with us Steve.

Coincidence that most of them are at Apple? How do you think they got there? Who brought over the team from NeXT? Gil Amelio?? LOL

Suspended, and then resumed.
