He may have not made or developed the products but he had final word on it all.l

He still needs a vote from the board of director in order to kill a project...

I'm stunned. He was and is still so devoted to Apple. At most I thought all he would do is take an extended medical leave... Not resign. At least he still will maintain a high position.

Oh and I'm not hater. I will say however, that it is my hope that Tim Cook will govern with a more sensible approach that involves restoring Apple's long neglected professional segment. That same segment which consisted of Apple's most loyal customers who kept the company afloat for more than 20 years prior to the iOS craze before being relegated as second class citizens.

Job's utter contempt for the desktops (i.e. Mac Pro) was, at best, completely unnecessary.

I must say I agree with this. I've sort of been waiting for this day. Perhaps now we'll see some of the things Steve was loath to provide. Unfortunately, they will probably not change much while he's still Chairman.

Steve is still the visionary creative director people...

Steve Jobs will still be an active creator & visionary force within Apple as the Chairman of the Board.

That is what he is truly best at & will be for many years into the future. Jobs turned Apple around in the 90's & hired high quality managers, like Tim Cook, to help him run the company - again. He has been successful at that, as well as keynote presentati*ons & continuing to be a visionary force within Apple's creative & engineerin*g staff.

All that has changed is that he is now not in charge of running a global corporatio*n Apple Inc anymore, but is still on Apple Board & is the Chief Creative Advisor to Apple.
