For what I know in all these years he did not donate a single penny to Research. Not a Foundation. Not a Grant or a Fellowship for any kind of medical Research. He should learn something from Bill Gates.

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that you don't know a damn thing about what Jobs has done with his money, what's in his will, etc. Do you?

yep, he is no philanthropist compared to gates. Jobs is a great business man, but as a human being, Gates is way beyond him. And, if I were waiting for a transplant, I would be pissed if Jobs got one because of his dollars.

I love apple products, but the idea that on some sort of personal level that Jobs is a great man is a little too much - didnt he even deny the existence of his daughter?

He is a great business man, and I wish him the best of luck as I would wish any human being. His products are special, but his ethics or morals dont stand out as particularly noteworthy in any way. Gates on the other hand, may not have made the best business decisions in his final several years with MS, but he is an amazing philanthropist - perhaps the greatest ever.

Unfortunately, pancreatic cancer often times isn't one of those very treatable types.

No pancreatic cancer is good, but the form that Jobs was reported to have suffered from is a very rare type that is much more treatable than the usual kind that you immediately think of when you hear "pancreatic cancer."

First to the press: Leave Steve Jobs alone, it is his private matter and no need to publish this just to get site/advertisement hits or sales numbers of stupid papers (don't think most of the press really cares about Steve, they need hits and sales)

Second: Best wishes to Steve and get healthy soon.

When you are the co-founder and current CEO if the company with the 2nd highest market cap in the US, you give up a modicum of privacy. Steve Jobs knew this going in.

Yea, cuz Jobs does absolutely nothing.

Here's the thing about someone as private as Jobs, he most likely donates anonymously as (apart from in relation to Apple) he tries to stay out of the spotlight as much as possible.

Enough speculation...

Tabloids will publish anything with any amount of photoshopping. Thankfully none of us really know what is going on (Privacy is a fundamental pillar of medicine). I've seen enough transplant patients to know that he could have any number of problems that would necessitate a leave of absence without meaning that he will die imminently. Mr. Jobs has brought so much joy to so many of us, lets hope he's around for a long time to come. Thank you Steve. Be well...

Ummm, they did win a Pulitzer bro. In fact, they actually break some of the biggest stories. But no, its cool, keep acting like you know....

Ummm, actually, they didn't win a Pulitzer, bro. But it's perfectly understandable why a dude such as yourself would think they did. And, even though it broke that tawdry Edwards story, about the only thing the National Enquirer is really good for is lining bird cages.

This should NOT be reported. Everyone should be allowed to have a private life, especially when it comes to something like his or her health. How would you like it if YOUR medical records were open for the world to see?

I somewhat agree with you in my "old" self. I've come to realize that in the age we are in, it's only a matter of time before someone who is particularly interested in uncovering personal information, and thinks outside the box will be able to find out secrets about everyone else.

I'm HIV+, diagnosed 3 years ago: my health is great, other than being overweight, elevated cholesterol, and elevated blood sugar. Everyone's body is different, and I've been blessed that I haven't had any HAART side effects from my HIV medicine; my ID doctor has point blank told me "this is manageable" condition with medicine today. So, the HIV issue aside, I will probably pass away after a normal life from old age related conditions common to generations before me.

I'm not trivializing death: I'm just realistic; it's a simple fact that any biological organism will at some point cease to exist. Spirituality issues aside, death unites us all as human, therefore there is no shame in death. When Steve Jobs passes away, it will be a sad day, yes, but life goes on, there will be another who takes the reins, yet, hopefully someone who shares his like of aesthetics, simplicity in product design, and the values that have helped Apple kick butt the last decade. Hopefully, he will continue to improve and complete projects.

Ironically, Steve did say in a melancholy fashion during the iPad's introduction, that the iPad was perhaps the most important project he had every worked in his entire life, almost dejected, almost realizing that it may be his last. Although I pray that he will be well, the reality is that man is ill, and perhaps may not make it through this time. I pray I am wrong.

Steve's DNA is a big part of Apple and it's followers.

Pointing fingers at others when anything went wrong is one of his favorite techniques. Always blaming others: "you're holding it wrong" is one of hundreds over the years.

MacBook Pro running hot? Blame flash, yeah that's it. Ignoring the millions of PC's running flash very successfully without a thought.

Now it's his followers attacking the press as though he's the only one being targeted by them.

If were discussing Google or Android, the routine is the same, attack & point fingers.

Apple will continue to do well, but what about all the fanboys that rely on Steve to think for them?

All the followers that constantly quote his words? " Steve says this, Steve says that.

These are the ones in jeopardy.

Are you kidding? Jobs is the Lady Gaga of technology industry.

I take it you can't read things in parenthesis?

Show me when steve tries to make headlines for anything other than apple related things.

Unless more photos are released that give more evidence or a face shot, I call bogus on these photos.

Everyone dies, even Steve Jobs. You'd be a fool to sell Apple stock when this inevitability occurs. Like selling Disney stock when Walt died. Bad move.

The stock will surely plummet as AAPL holders are notoriously reactionary to the point of insanity, but it will bounce back and continue to climb. Apple is just beginning its golden era.

Unless they hire Ballmer as their CEO, Apple will continue to thrive and innovate. Reactionary investors are poor investors.

I am not a fanboy of Steve but I truly admire what he has done in his lifetime. Everything he has touched he has done with unsurpassed passion and dedication. I look at my iphone, ipad and mac computers and think he was the person who made this all possible (him and a great team of talented people).

All the money in the world can't save him now.......sad.

I wouldn't believe anything coming out of National Equirer. Even if they have photos of a "gaunt" Steve Jobs I wouldn't put it past them to have doctored those photos. They've done it before and they're slimball enough to do it to anyone just to sell they're crappy rag.

Steve Jobs you are the MAN!!!!!!

With the money he has, I don't know why he isn't going to Houston, TX for treatment. They have the absolute best doctors and cancer center in the world. I wish him the best!

Its an unfortunate situation that Steve Jobs is currently in and I wish him the best, but I think he fully deserves his privacy right now and I will be sadden if the purported photo(s) of Steve Jobs gets published in the next issue of The National Enquirer.

I understand he is a High Profile person, but sometimes boundaries need to be set.

Unless of course, the high profile person happens to be a conservative, right?
