Meanwhile websites are all 100% wrong, macworlds a dud, and even the manufactures of the rubber nanos (remember those images) are wrong.

There's nothing unusual about that at all. That happens with every keynote to a certain degree. There have been dud Stevenotes with almost no rumors turning out to be true before.

People..... this WWDC will most probably the last time Jobs ever takes the main stage for a short time to announce his successor. Its really as simple as that! Unless PR tells us tomorrow that Mr. Jobs is in coma for the last 20 days.......

Yes it is possible to remove the pancreas completely.
Turns the patient into a severe diabetic… but most absorption of nutrients can be controlled by medication.

But you won't make old bones…
:(

Strange. This editorial is almost a word-for-word copy of another post in this thread. Either Daniel Lyons is writing in this thread or he is plagerizing this poster.

Or,

c) the poster in this thread is plagerizing the article, or just copied and pasted from it without attributing it.

I'll go with (c). However, if you post a link to the exact post, I may revise my choice, upon further examination.

Won't he need insulin and other various enzyme supplements the rest of his life?

Yep, according to Wikipedia:

The most common surgical procedure involving removal of a portion of the pancreas is called a pancreaticoduodenectomy. Among common consequences of complete or nearly complete pancreatectomy are deficiencies of pancreatic endocrine or exocrine function requiring replacement of insulin or digestive enzymes. The patient immediately develops type I diabetes, with little hope for future type I diabetes treatments involving the restoration of endocrine function to a damaged pancreas, since the pancreas is either partially or completely absent. Type I diabetes can be treated with careful blood glucose monitoring and insulin therapy. Due to the fact that the Pancreas is responsible for the production many digestive enzymes, a pancreatectomy should only be given as an option for pancreatic disease which is life threatening, such as pancreatic cancers. It is very important to note that even after a pancreatectomy, pain still exists in most patients.

Someone mentioned that a CEO does not design the products. That may be true but they are the ones that approve things to go it the market are they not?

Strange, I know.

But think about it.

First, no more Mac World, then, Jobs won't be doing it, meanwhile there are rumors on many sites about new products, even the updates in the OS show new products, then comes mac world, no products, every SINGLE rumor site was wrong? A-huh. Then comes the hormone problem and now the leave of absence. Meanwhile websites are all 100% wrong, macworlds a dud, and even the manufactures of the rubber nanos (remember those images) are wrong.

Additionally, I just read something similar and articles like the one below, I wouldn't put it past them, not one bit.

They didn't release any major products at MWSF, for two reasons.

1. They are done with MWSF

2. Apple will have their own media events from now on, where they can release their products on their schedule.
Oh, please tell me you're kidding.

Yeah seriously. "Messiah", that's like creepy stalker talk:eek:

Don

CNBC reports Jobs is having his pancreas removed? "Oh, just one more thing...."

i come from a family of doctors and even when this hits deep inside of my heart and hurts me i can't say things are going to get better for SJ.

I wish him well but wishing is not what happens in the real world.

I think we should all take a step back and honor the man and his ideas and we need to stop posting insulting words and think of SJ and his family and how hard this all must be for them.

Apple will NEVER be forthcoming about information regarding Steve's health as a way to not shake their stock.

According to the powers that be with stock trading if a CEO is ill enough that it'll affect control & direction of a company - the company by law is FORCED to make a public statement or else face charges, and all stock trading during that time will be rescinded. If the false information about Google that had their stock drop by almost $100US in after hours trading back in October 2008, later rescinded then I'm sure info about a CEO that is ill and actions affected by that illness needs to be reported.

Steve Jobs was smart about delivering this email and having Cook change hats without intervention from outside sources.

You're right. The post in question has since been edited to give credit to the washingtonpost article.

Get well soon Steve.

I am sure once he has rested and listened to his doctors advice that he will be back better than ever...

Prediction - Snow Leopard to launch when Steve is back- July-ish

Medical leave ...... Probably from all the emails from "angry customers" about the "missing" firewire ports...........

Jk..take care Mr. Jobs, take a breather and keep the innovation coming

Interesting quote heard on the radio

...Steve Jobs has been an individual who has actually created things. He has been a producer. He's been an original thinker. He has built wealth. He has helped improve people's lives around the world...

I heard this today and thought it was very interesting to hear. I wish Steve and his immediate family and extended family at Apple the best. Thanks Steve. Hurry back, your "vacation" has been too long already.
