Good luck with the recovery, Steve. You've got a lot of people thinking about and praying for you.

If Michael Dell suddenly choked on a filet mignon today, and then died hours later (due to complications of filet mignonitis), would anyone even read the news? Nope. Would millions of people send their heartfelt prayers? LMAO. Not bloody likely.

great, this is none of our business, it shouldnt even be in the public domain, end of story.
It is our business because he's a guy we love and respect. For god's sake, he's made my world a little bit easier since I switched from MS seven years ago. So it is my business to wish the guy the best (let alone that the shares will plummet just that little bit more). Amor tio!

Listen to those bastards on CNBC. They're behaving as if Steve is the entire company and that he's never coming back. They're already declaring the company dead by implication. This blatant manipulation makes me SO angry. Bastards have been waiting for this story for weeks.

Welcome to 1996...those stupid analysts and tech magazines, as well as the moronic PC fans that sometimes populate this forum, have been saying the same thing about Apple for years. The fact is: Apple is the STRONGEST, RICHEST and MOST ADVANCED consumer IT company in the world.

We have the BEST media players, the BEST computers, the BEST OS and the BEST phone; anything else to wish for? I don't think so.

When Jobs left Apple in 1985, it was the result of losing a power struggle with the board of directors. At that time, his influence at Apple was not preserved. This time, it is.

Yes, this is very true, and this gives me hope about Apple's future without him, when that time comes. I think his lessons have been absorbed.

:D That's are sick media. They have everything to say except for the facts!!

Shoot the lawyers? No way. We should shoot the media.

I think so. Don't expect him back in June, or probably ever.

As I stated in a previous post (which I was thoroughly trashed for) he was far more ill than he stated and the letter was simply an act to halt the stock slide. I wish him very well and I hope he is able to make a full and complete recovery - as does everyone. I do think that maybe Apple will adopt some of the more successful aspects of mainstream PC vendors such as Levona as they listen to their customers needs. Apple has a tendency to give you something you did not ask for (albeit nice, and usually useful) and expect you to like it and the religious Apple zealots gravitate towards said new feature - all while ignoring the base with things like removing FireWire, no matte display, no push notification - but boy we can have a built-in battery in the 17" MBP and we get iFart!

I wish Mr. Jobs well and I wish him the speediest recovery. I also hope Apple will shift towards actually listening to their customers needs - as well as hoping all the fanatical nut-bag Apple fans who defend each silly Apple move and introduction WOULD STOP! Just because it is Apple does not mean that cannot and will not screw-up.

My best to you, Mr. Jobs and thank you for a great product and platform - as an a former Windows user I can honestly say I appreciate your effort. Now someone at Apple please listen to your customers. Thank you.

D

How can you be so naieve?? He hasn't shown his face in months, withdraws from the keynote, is not in the audience and one week after his initial letter "surprise" finds out that is condition is worse than he thought?

We are being lied to plain and simple. If you wish to believe otherwise, that's fine. Steve is NOT FINE and he has not been fine for a long time.

Not saying I like it or anything, just stating the obvious.

Were you there? Do you have access to his medical files? Are you a family member or member of the board? No?

Then you don't know any more than I do, and anything other than what has been said to the public is pure speculation.

I'm glad that steve is finally doing something for himself for once and taking some time off. Even if he wasn't sick, he still deserves the time off. Apple can and will survive when he decides to step down. I'm quite sure his envisionary thought and logic was instilled in others and will be continued forward. I wish people would leave steve to his own personal matters and life. No one else would want everyone prodding into their own personal life and matters... :apple: Here's to steve becoming well once again :apple:

apple stocks will be ok. they'll take a hit short term but the outlook is golden. with the iphone the sky is the limit, the mac is continually gaining market share and this is not even mentioning the ipod touch.

The first post to bring some intelligence to this thread on AAPL - finally.

It's a good thing you were able to back that up with medican reason, blood work results, years of experience, etc etc.

Tell me Dr., what exactly is wrong with Steve from all the pictures you've seen? You've got all the answers, yeah?

Good Luck and get well soon. All the best in the future and I hope you will get better. Very Sad to hear this.

Of course I wish him well; he is a person.

As a shareholder (and please do not read into that wealthy shareholder), I am a little annoyed at how this has been handled. He is someone who has to control the narrative--his life has been about controlling the spin, but this is one story whose path he did not like and one story he has not wanted to tell.

Based on what can only charitably be considered half truths of the past made by Apple and Jobs, I don't have any more trust in this latest letter either. He makes no claims except the possibility that he can return in the summer, but based on their untruthfulness in the past, I am not sure I can believe that.

There were a lot of people fired from Apple recently with babies on the way etc, so I excuse myself from not feeling as sympathetic as I should because I see the way they (and I) were let out the door with a you have hereby been terminated e-mail and nothing else. Apple loses the magic when you've seen it from the inside out. Anyhow....

this forum shows how gullible many people are :(

Last week, when the "letter" was published, mostly everyone said something like: "See! I told you he was A-OK!, it was just a tommy flu; this will take care of all those rumours about his health."

Today: "Oh no! he's not better after all..."

I hope SJ gets better, he's an amazing person, but we'll never know the degree of his illness, will we?

As sad as this is for him, he is not El Cid. Some of you act like it is the end of the world. I'm going to burry a very fine colleague this Saturday (he died of colon cancer) and that saddens me more. Before we know it, Steve is declaired a saint.

So him finding out it's worse than he thought is lying? I can't believe you have the gall to call him a liar when he's in his current position.

He specificly said in this letter

Thats not lying

I'm betting the treatment isn't working like he hoped two weeks ago. That said, stepping away takes the pressure off of him to disclose this crap all the time.

We should expect to see him once he returns, hopefully for a long time, but there is the chance he'll continue to slide and the treatment won't work.
