Damn it. My started doing the same thing now. What i did to trigger it is fold the front cover back and insert the flap into the loop. not in the stand position but just like folded book. now there is a little room where the crease that is used as a stand part is sagging a bit. No sleep mode triggering. Now if i use my left hand to straighten out the crease and make it flat against the back of the ipad and then use my right hand to hold the ipad, sleep mode activates. This can get annoying really fast. I guess I'll shoot a video little later of how this triggers. I guess its time to involve customer service as this is only going to get easier to replicate as the case gets broken in.

I just had the same thing happen again and I confirmed that when the tab is down it is not happening as often as when the tab is up. I also had it happen when the tab was up and tucked in but not when it is down and tucked in.
magnet activator on the ipad is actually not where the flap is. its located right below the volume rocker. I have a small rare earth magnet and i was able to pinpoint the location of where the magnet is on the ipad.

Anyone else having issues with a really strong chemical smell on their case?
I got my STM end of last week and the smell is overpowering. It makes my eyes water and it transfers to my hands when I hold it.
Trying to figure out if it is just mine as nobody has mentioned this yet.
I love the form factor and build of the case, but I'm not sure what to do about this particular problem.

No odor issues whatsoever. Maybe try leaving it outside in the garage overnight or something.
I'm so surprised that I'm the only one with this issue. The odor is totally overpowering.....
I e-mailed RadTech about it. We'll see what they say.

I couldn't duplicate it in the beginning either. Then I decided to try it after I saw Jax post and it happened

If I had to guess, I'd bet they'll replace it. They seem like a pretty responsive company.
Saw the video. My question is 'when does this really happen?". I use mine folded back on my lap all day but I don't stretch my case flat which seems the only time this happens?

It's weird. Sometimes when I just gently lay it ony lap it sleeps, no pulling or adjusting required to make it happen. Other times it doesn't do that at all. Yesterday it did it a dozen times but today not once. I am typing on my lap with the tab tucked in while the cover is folded back now with no issues. Weird.

I got mine in from ebags.com and one of the corners is scuffed up a bit. I spoke to ebags and they said they couldn't do an exchange because they are out of stock and that it would take 3 - 4 weeks to get more stock in. They said I could return it, but I guess I'll just hang on to it.

Man, I ordered mine on the 5th back when the ETA was the 12th. I sent an email to the company at the beginning of last week and they said that the expected ship date would be "up to the 20th". Still haven't gotten a confirmation email. If it doesn't come today I'm going to be really annoyed.
Mine smells a little and it smells like a new car, not too obnoxious whatsoever and I'm sure it will fade over time. BTW I cannot replicate the sleep issue with cover folded back, even when pushed flat and pressure applied. If it ever does happen I'll simply deactivate the auto-sleep function since I'm not sold on that feature anyhow.....really digging this case.
About to pull the trigger on this case. Is everyone still happy? Does the undercoverage of the top and bottom bother any of you?
