On a side note, I'm still waiting for the case that shipped on Apr 4th. Sucks to be in Canada! :(

Damn....this pisses me off. Mine is on schedule to be delivered today but now I want the red one but I just do not want to go through the hassle of sending mine back and waiting for another one to be shipped all over again.

Same here, mine will be delivered today as well - that Berry is nice.

Thinking of maybe cutting most of the strap.

Picked up mine today, and it is as nice as everyone is saying.

The flap is a bit annoying to me.

Im thinking about maybe cutting most of it off, leaving about 3/4 of an inch.

That way I can tuck the remaining piece of the flap into the loop on the back when I need to use the stand, but not have it flapping around all the time?

Does anyone else think thats a good idea? Wanted to get some opinions before I started cutting :)

I'm curious .... has anyone tried using this case with the new ipad 2 dock? It would be nice to have this sitting up and charging at the same time.

I'd leave it for a couple of weeks to see what you think of the flap before you consider cutting.

I actually had the sleep issue happen unexpectedly this morning. I had my iPad on a stand with the case folded back and the tab sticking out (the stand I used was the InCase Origami Workstation). With the tab sticking out and the angle of the case, I guess the flap was in the right position to make my iPad sleep..

However I could avoid the sleep issue if I pushed the tab inward so it was between the back of the iPad and the back of the case flap giving a bit of extra space. That was my first experience with an inadvertent power off due to this case but it was solved easily enough. I'm still not sure how big of an issue this will be overall.

The more I hear about these sleep issue problems with cases that are folded back, the more I feel this was Apple's oversight. They made the shell of the iPad thinner, but in turn, that allows the internal magnet to become accessible from either the front or back. Too bad Apple didn't put some type of inhibitor at the bottom of the shell to prevent this.

I'd wait and if it still bugs you in 2-3 weeks cut away

Depends how neatly you cut it off. You might want to sew it after cutting. I would be concerned about such a short tab slipping out of the slot and collapsing the stand. If it bothers you so much, why not tuck it in the slot when folded back. It slips in pretty nicely. I've had the case for a week and the tab does become easier to pull out of the slot when opening the case. One of my complaints when I first got it was that it was hard to grab the tab and pull it out, but it's much easier now.

I don't have a dock but I've heard others comment that since the case is wide open at the dock end, it should work well with any dock.

This was clearly a design flaw that Apple probably encountered with the smart covers. Certainly the ideal smart cover would fold neatly back onto the back of the ipad magnetically attaching itself, but their own switch design foiled that plan. The fact that they expect you to take the case off or fold it and hold it is ridiculous. It should just flap back and stay there.

Hmm yeah I think thats a good idea, thanks!

Tab

I got my black Skinny today altho I am annoyed they didn't have the berry earlier as red would have been my 1st choice and why I ordered the stinky yoobao case before this one. Oh well, at least the black is more "stealthy" . I'm very happy to report no magnet issues (yay) and the tab is tolerable. I am using it kinda as a support as the angle of it tucked in is too steep. Am typing on it now with perched up with the tab bent back.

Got my case today and I must say I am very pleased. Appears to be very well built and much more functional than my smart cover. The typing angle when folded over is just right and when used as a stand it is much more stable than most of the other covers out there.....The flap is a little stiff but I think after some wear it will loosen up a little making it easier to use. I give it 2 thumbs up and I think my search for a case is over.....I am still disappointed that they did not have the red one out when I ordered but overall I am very satisfied.

Tab is very loose

After a week, the point at which the tab attaches to the case seem very weak. I'm worried it might detach. The material forming the tab doesn't seem to extend at all into the flap, it is simply sewn to the edge. Could be a problem. Unlike a lot of people in this thread, I think the tab is essential.

It seems to be designed as a hinge. I like that it moves freely/easily. After a week with mine I see no signs of stress or anything to think it may fail prematurely.

Time will tell.

I know what you mean. But when I was pulling it out of the loop, while in the folded back position, because it's a little awkward to get it out, I heard what sound like a thread popping. I inspected it and didn't see any evidence of damage, but I will definitely be more careful next time.

Does anyone have any raised "bubbles" on the inside micro-suade part of their cover? I have one that feels like there is a small piece of something stuck behind the fabric. It's not big or sharp, so I don't think it will cause any screen scratching, I'm just wondering if this a common manufacturing defect with this case.

No, mine is smooth. Maybe cut a tiny slit with a razor to get it out, then glue the fabric back down. Just make sure you let the glue dry before touching your screen with it.

I don't know why, but the accidental sleep problem is happening to me a lot tonight when I fold the case back, especially if I set the iPad on my lap to type. It didn't happen at all accidentally until today and I'm not sure why. Peviously it only happened if I pulled the tab (ie I had to free it to happen). Now it is repeatable and very annoying. I has gone to sleep about 10 times in the last hour with the case folded back. It seems to happen less often when I am holding it and more often when I set it down with the case folded, but it happens both ways.

pop

If you dont see a loose thread I suspect it may have just been the tab "popping" back as it is flexible. I think there may be a super-thin piece of aluminum in there to give it support. To me, it seems very sturdy.

When I first got mine I could not make it sleep by folding it back, now after it has got broke in it does it all the time. I just turned off the sleep function because it got really annoying.

I think it might be about breaking it in too, as it didn't do that for the first few days.

I also think that if it is held with the tab at the bottom it is less likely to do it than when the tab is at the top. But I kind of like holding it with the tab at the top. Also it's less likely with the tab folded in rather than sticking out.

It hasn't happened again today yet (strangely) but last night it was so annoying I was thinking about returning it. I still like the case though. It's the first folio case that I liked enough to use for more than 1 day before returning.

I'm also interested in how many other people can duplicate the problem.
