I ordered mine on the 4th...just got the Shipping Email so I think yours will ship way before the 20th....is it shipping from CA or MO? I'm in Midwest so MO would be much closer !

I ordered mine on the 10th and just got shipping notice, even though when I placed the order it said ETA of the 20th!

Fyi...

I ordered a black one back around 4/6, when the website was still showing an ETA of 4/12. I also got worried when the ETA changed to 4/20. But I got a notice last night that my case shipped out of the Hazelwood, MO facility at 11:22 pm en route to me in Virginia.

Too bad they don't have a bike courier:D I checked this AM and mine is shipping from MO which is great. Good chance I'll get mine today as I chose Priority Mail and live in IL. Fingers crossed.

Well my order from yesterday shipped today. Coming from San Diego and delivering to...San Diego lol. It'll be here tomorrow. :D

I went ahead and cancelled Radtech's order and ordered from ebags.com. They have 4/15 as the ship date and it was a tiny bit cheaper. I hope I didn't screw myself by doing that

Looks like I made the right decision. It shipped out yesterday evening and will be here Tuesday :D

Whilst I was looking around shops in the city for a sleeve for my 2, and being extremely let down, I stumbled across a store that carried this case, a black and olive colour. The store is NextByte in Adelaide (Rundle Mall) for locals.

I bought the black, $49, ouch but couldn't be bothered waiting for shipping. Overall, the case is really nice except one thing that annoys me. The flap that you slide into the back of the case to close it. I think its rather redundant, and moreso annoying to use. I wish it was a clip button (no idea what thats called) or velcro.

So all up, happy with it, don't think I'll ever get a different case for it unless something really awesome comes up. Considering cutting the flap off, but might wait for someone else to do it first :p .

I plan on rigging some velcro on the flap to keep it down when I have it folded back. I'll let you guys know!

Mine is out for delivery! It shipped on Monday from San Diego and it's in Houston now to give you an idea of the shipping time. I can post photos when I get it.

Did you buy the Skinny from Rad-Tech? I called them this morning and they said it won't be available until the 20th.

New Color!

Looks like they just added another color to the selection: Berry!

On a side note, I'm still waiting for the case that shipped on Apr 4th. Sucks to be in Canada! :(

Got mine! Just writing this to test the keyboard stand angle which seems to work pretty well. So far so good. I'll send photos later.

Here are my first thoughts:

Positive:
This is a really nice case, definitely the best design for a folio style case I've seen (I generally dislike folio style cases). Personally I don't think I would have liked it as much in leather but that's just me. The canvas/nylon material seems to be very good quality. The fit is very tight and minimal. The top and bottom edge is exposed but the plastic corners should prevent it from ever getting banged up too bad unless you smack it directly into a pole or a corner. To me it seems like the right balance of protection and weight/simplicity. It weighs 6.3 oz compared with my other case (the Incipio NGP) which weighs 4.3 oz so it isn't really significantly more weight for the added screen protection. One thing I like better than the smart cover is that if you rest it on it's edge on a table, the table doesn't press the volume buttons because of the plastic corners. In general this sort of feels like what I think the Smart Cover should have been.

Negative:
The flap thing for closing the cover is kind of redundant because the magnets hold the cover closed really well but it is required if you want to use it as a stand. I wish that flap thing could be folded away somehow when not using it as a stand. It makes me feel like it needs to be tucked in every time I close the cover otherwise it gets in the way which make opening/closing it slightly annoying. Maybe I'll get used to it though. I just realized that if you fold the cover around backwards the flap can be folded back into the slot as shown in the pictures which will probably make it less annoying while reading on the iPad.

Conclusion:
This case is definitely the best folio case I've used, and definitely better than the smart cover in a lot of ways. I'll let you know more about what I think after using it for a few days.

Had my case for about a week now and so far i'm pleased. I agree with other comments that most annoying part of the case is the useless flap. Magnets are pretty strong and hold the case shut perfectly. Flap is very stiff and its hard to maneuver it around. I'm going to see if i can also rig some sort of velcro to be able to use it as a stand and if it works, I'll cut the flap off.

Also have to give thumbs up for radtech customer service. Its definitely USA based :) and they are very fast and informative at their replies.

I ordered 2 cases and they only shipped one. All it took was 2 minute phone call and my 2nd case showed up 2 days later via fedex 2nd day no questions asked. Top notch customer service

I just got the Skinny today to replace the MacAlly Bookstand2G and I am extremely pleased with it. The fit and finish are excellent.

I replaced the Bookstand because it doesn't really function as a stand. Folding the front cover into a triangle ala the Smart Cover doesn't really work because the triangle unfolds and the iPad falls over. The flap system on the STM that secures the front panel in the stand position is much better. And unlike the flap in the original Bookstand for the first iPad, this one has a plastic insert and won't soften and become unusable.

A couple of comments based on what others have said on this thread:

The flap does not bother me at all when reading or otherwise using the iPad with the cover folded back. You can simply tuck it inside, but mostly I don't even notice it.

If there is a way to trigger the sleep function with the cover folded over the back, I have yet to discover it. Definitely a non-issue.

Some people have asked about using a screen protector. I have GhostArmor on my screen and it is just fine with the Skinny.

I've now used four different cases on the two iPads I have owned and this one is by far the winner.

Same here. I actually tried to make it go to sleep when the cover was folded back and I couldn't make that happen.

I can also confirm that the Incipio screen protector (really a pretty standard screen protector) works fine with this case.

I have had the Skinny for about a week now and have a couple observations. In general, the case has become less stiff and is becoming broken in. The tab is becoming a little curled, but it is also becoming easier to unloop from the beltloop thing. Because the case has softened a bit, for the first time today, it actually put my ipad to sleep when folded back. It was no big deal, and I had actually made it sleep when I first got it by stretching the cover far enough to trigger the switch. I'm hoping that the case won't soften to the point that the sleep switch is triggered under normal usage. The other thing I have noticed is that the nylon is getting a tiny bit frayed on the tab edge of the flap. Just a few fuzzy hairs, but I hope it won't worsen (they are working on a leather version that would solve that problem). Also, the point at which the tab is fastened to the flap seems very flimsy. Hopefully it won't tear off after repetitive use.

Fold the flap back and tug on the tab until the edges of the case are lined up and it will go to sleep.

Oh yeah... that worked. Not sure if it'll ever happen during everyday use though, and it wakes again as soon as it moves back into normal position (when I stop tugging). Has anybody contacted STM about this? I would hope that if this got bad enough to be a nuisance and STM comes up with a revision, that they might be willing to replace it.
