John Lewis Regent St none
Covent Garden has silver and gold in stock limited.

Picked myself up a gold one. Beauty!

John Lewis in high Wycombe taking orders but has no stock. No payment taken over the phone and no obligation to take when it comes in.

Now also tried Currys option and should collect tomorrow, but slightly doubtful.

Re: The post about Trafford Centre stock selling out within minutes of opening:

Or put them aside for pals and favoured customers...

When I got my iPhone 6plus for pick up at Apple Store and they were hard to get hold of I arrived for my collection and the person who dealt with me seemed rather reluctant to fulfil the order, he said less than enthusiastically I will go and see if it has arrived. When I told him that I had my confirmation and had caught a train to pick it up he was a bit more lively, but got definite impression he was testing water on my reaction. First time that I had that feeling.

Well just had a telephone call from Currys, enhanced security check. Lady confident order will be with me before 12 tomorrow.
'Processing Order' email received shortly after.

So far so good.

It does seem a bit crazy Apple's two stores closest to me (Liverpool/Manchester) don't have any stock to sell and point me online with an updated 3/5 week delay?

Many thanks for the update re covent garden. Just popped in and got my base gold. There's still stock.

Order from Currys dispatched and tracking number provided.

They still have all three colours in the base model and Gold/Space Grey in the higher spec model

I cracked and ordered from Currys. Delivery to store tomorrow for a pick up. 1.2 space grey. As soon as I have it. The apple order gets canceled.

I also got myself a Gold 512GB! Thanks for the heads up, I only got it because you posted the availability.

Sold out in Covent Garden. They had a delivery of 9 units today...

Went to the Covent Garden one and managed to get one. This was a couple of hours ago, very soon after VSEDI posted.

I actually was torn between the Gold and SG. I ended up pre ordering a SG one but bought the Gold since the store had that in stock and I don't want to wait until the end of June for it. I have 14 days anyways to decide. I won't cancel my SG order until I have made up my mind. All I need now is a case...

I did too. Still saying on for collection tomorrow. Just received processing email and said will provide tracking number when available. Ordered AppleCare from Apple.

Managed to get a USB-C to USB cable at the regent street store. Not on shelves so got guy to physically check and he had two left (I only needed one).

I couldn't bring myself to give up the 14 day open-box return window. Especially with a first-gen product.

It's Apple or nowhere for me.

Not so despite what the website says. Here is a copy of the PDF sent to me with my order confirmation...

You have changed your mind
If you change your mind and would like to return your product, we're happy to exchange or refund it as long as:
It is within 14 calendar days from the day of delivery:
Following The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations, we will accept items back even if you have opened the goods to inspect them.
You notify us of your wish to cancel within the above time frames and you have proof of purchase (receipt, delivery note, bank statement).
The goods are in 'as new' condition and returned in the original, undamaged packaging along with any accessories and free gifts received with them.
You can examine the goods as you would in a shop but you must not have used or installed them or input any data on them. Whilst the goods are in your possession you must take reasonable care of them.
DVDs, CDs, memory cards and software must be sealed. If you want to return a Software Product Activation Key card which is not faulty, the silver strip on the back of the card must be fully intact as new.
In the case of a service contract or a contract for the supply of a digital download, the cancellation period will expire after 14 days from the day of the conclusion of the contract. If you consent to a digital download starting within the 14 day cancellation period and acknowledge the right to cancel will be lost, you will not be able to request a refund.

The Currys I was in last night still have the silver model in stock - unsure on Space grey.

My original Apple order was for gold.

I am not much of a fan of the space grey really. I like my tech in white or silver (or gold! ha) but unsure.

Anyone with the silver think it's a nice looking device? I can get one with Curry's finance paying roughly the same as what Apple uoted me but could have it tonight.

Would you pull the trigger?

It really is a personal choice. You are the one thats going to be using it every day.

You can't use it. You can open the box, look at it, and send it back. The minute you turn it on, you cannot return that item to Currys.

I want to use it - test that 1.1GHz for 2 weeks. It's my own personal preference, I realise.

Yeah I get that.
I forgot to look at the silver model when I went to Trafford Centre as I was so focused on the gold / space grey.
I knew space grey wasn't for me, but someone posted a silver pic in one of the other threads a few days ago and it looked gorgeous.

Think I might go for it.

It says you can open the package and examine the product.

Providing you restore it back to new after use nobody will know if you've used it or not if you decide to take it back.

It can't be that hard to keep it pristine for 14 days.

The silver one is gorgeous (same silver as they have used on all their other laptops like the Pro and Air).

Thank- you for the tip on Curry's, shall be picking mine up tomorrow rather than waiting another 3 weeks! :D (Space Grey, Base model)
