apple and att is compatible system ,,, apple will pull up att account with existing phone number , they able to access all plan and upgrade ...

i wont go to carrier ... they dont have stock and they still go waiting inline like anybody else .....

I'll definitely be getting the iPhone 8. Not until early December though as I'll order it through a tax-free scheme at work, which doesn't start again until November.

Thousands of iPhone users do. It's primarily a tradition for some and it's not just about the iPhone, it's the experience behind it.
The experience is what the campout is all about. I know I can get a phone by preordering or waiting a few weeks or whatever but camping out is a blast. The atmosphere at the Apple Store is wild, the hype is almost tangible in the air, you're around a bunch of other Apple nerds who can talk tech for hours on end, and at the end, you get your phone. The employees come running out the door, high-fiving everyone and getting pumped, they usually give you coffee/hot chocolate/water and donuts, and everyone is buzzing with excitement about getting their phone. It's awesome!

I'd recommend it to anyone who calls themselves an Apple fan. I used to look at the campers on TV and think "Why would you waste your time?" but then I tried it and it was definitely a good time.

Ugh. That sounds like my worst nightmare.

That said, I think I may have to lineup this year since I’m on T-Mobile and I do want a phone on launch day. Sucks.

I really want the phone on launch day, wish it would come out next Friday... right now I am leaning more towards lining up.

I go lining up 3 times in my life already and here result

first time= 6 got it in hand at apple store
sec nd time = 6s miss it out of stock ( but got it next day in bestbuy )
third time = 7 miss it .... apple announce dont go wait in line but i still try
2017 = this time i will have some fun again :):):):)

The only reason why people would want it the first day is to show it off to people. To be "cool".

LOL...it's a phone. Please...

I’m sure there are plenty of things that are very important to you that other people couldn’t care less about.

No need to judge. Different things appeal to different people.

So tell me why else you would want it on day 1 so badly? Its a phone.

Its not a transformation from Nokia to iPhone 3GS
If it was then I would understand.

I want it because I’m excited about it. I upgrade my iPhone every year, on launch day, because I enjoy getting new phones and it makes me happy.

I have no intention of showing it off to anyone and, honestly, I don’t even want people to know that I have it because I don’t feel like answering questions about it or having people ask me if they can handle it.

The bottom line is very simple - I’m excited about the new phone and I’d like to have it as soon as it’s available. It’s the same reason anyone buys anything the day it comes out. If it’s something you really want, why wait?

We post on an Apple message board, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to understand the concept of Apple fans being excited to get a new product as soon as it’s available.

Apple is very nice

- chips
- water

What I care about is not pertinent here. My comment stands. It's a phone. Standing in line or camping overnight is crazy ridiculous. But hey, if it floats your boat...go for it.

I thought Apple did away with store lineups?
They did last year and hopefully this year is the same. I hate it when the scalpers/resellers are in the front of the line buying 2 each only to sell at a premium price. I think Apple has learned their lesson.

Just lol at the idea of queuing for a phone. In fact, I won't even pre-order this time around as I want to read the reviews first and make sure there are no significant issues.

As the question states... if iPhone 8 is all of what you feel it will be... will you be lining up outside the Apple Store to get one given supply will be limited? If so, have you lined up before for other phones or will it be your first time?

What is this 2008??? Why would anyone stand in line overnight when you can place your order in 5 minutes online? People never cease to amaze me.

Still undecided on buying on launch day, but I really hope that they refine things a little bit. They really need to sell everything through the website. The only reason to go to the Apple Store on launch day should be to pick up a phone that has already been purchased.

There won't be any iPhone 8 in stores at launch. Same like the Jet Black version last year.

Of course there will be phones available when the stores open the first day of the sale. Apple will certainly provide a limited amount if for no other reason than the local news showing the lines waiting for the store openings. FREE publicity for those who haven't heard of the IP7 S, IP7 S+ and the IP8 (or whatever Apple is going to name them).

NO, I'm not lining up all night or even showing up on the off chance I'll score one just be showing up at the store openings. Instead, I'll be waiting for the FedEx, UPS or whoever is delivering them in my area. I've been very successful in getting one by dialing in the wee hours for preorder.
