And someone who knows what they are doing when they prepare it.

The sushi I buy has been prepared by a Japanese lady who trained professionally.
I want to fly to Japan next month just to eat some good sushi and Japanese food. If you want the next thing next to actual orgasm some of the sushi and dessert places just really hit the spot.:D Call me a sushi foodie freak :p

I have been to this place. For those that love sushi I recommend this place

If you are in Irvine or Walnut this place is pretty good. I come here and I am just like "Take my money".

For street food this place in Osaka has pretty good Sushi also at the 4:50 minute mark.

It's always hard to decide between salmon and tuna toro. It's best to get both.
This is one of my favorites. They add a little lemon and Salt on top of it. Lightly seared and it melts in your mouth :D

This is lightly seared also and pretty much instantly melts in your mouth. I used to have these almost every other day in Taiwan.

This is the boss, he is at the fish market every morning between 3-4:00 am after he closes his restaurant. He picks it out himself and is very picky about what he picks out.

This is one of my favorites as well

Well, if you fly to Nippon for a foodie trip, don't get stuck on sushi. It's great, but Japanese food, in general is totally awesome! Even the smallest shop in an alleyway may have some truly unique food! I was fortunate enough to go to school in Kobe and ended up addicted to it.

This is so true.

I haven't had a chance to do a foodie trip to Asia, but I have been living vicariously through Mike Chen/Sreictly Dumpling and can't wait for my chance for a foodie trip.

The old days many people used to travel to see and these days many travel to eat on foodie trips :p:D

Why bother to inform a thread that is about sushi (which, by definition, will attract those who like sushi and who wish to discuss sushi) that you don't like sushi?

Why is this relevant to this discussion?

Like going to a Mustang Forum and telling the members that you don't like Mustangs or coming to a Mac Forum and telling people that you don't like Apple products :p

It is one thing to answer such a question in a poll - which, by definition, offers several options, usually including a option to indicate dislike - but, in an ordinary thread that discusses a specific matter (sushi, coffee), I remain at a loss why someone would waste their time, my time, and take up space in the thread to inform me that they don't like whatever the subject matter of the thread.

Really?

And why do we need to be informed of this, - that someone dislikes sushi - especially in this thread?

Dark reasons suggest themselves, (attention seeking, adding to one's post count, among others) but one would prefer not to have to give lugubrious voice to this, just now.

Why not focus on the positive - stuff that someone likes - instead?

We often make food related road trips. One of our oft repeated ones is through Alabama for BBQ and pies, down to the Gulf Coast for Seafood done right and then over to New Orleans for days of Cajun/Creole and regional delights! Our last trip was over to St. Louis for weekend to sample their food scene. We had some truly awesome BBQ and the best frozen custard on the planet at Ted Drewes (twice!). I love foodie trips! (Hence why I am also a member at the Roadfood.com forum).

As for sushi...that's what I had for lunch today, as I do every Wednesday. It was pretty good!

More good sushi today :) Salmon this week does not look good though so I passed on it.
