But this thing is a huge pain in the ass to get closed, you have to use two hands to snap it shut. I'm hoping it'll stretch over time...
I'm loving my charcoal canvas, mostly...
The case feels solid, the built in stand / viewing angles are work great for me, and it feels like the iPad is really protected.

That's my only real gripe with the case (and the extra thickness). If mine doesn't loosen up enough to open and close easier, I'm going to ditch it for something else.
Be careful... I have a case affected by the velcro issue (almost no grip now), but Switcheasy isn't responding to my emails (4 emails in almost a week and no response from them).
Product is great except for this annoying velcro issue, but the after-sales service is leaving me a little worried.
Got the case today and really like it. I agree with the clasp being tight and that should work itself out over time. I don't understand the complaint about the stand positions, didn't people view the functionality and do their research before purchasing? Also, the smell is noticeable, if you have your nose within an inch of the case.
I love the look and its versatility. I will def need a better screen protector because this one will show fingerprints.
I ordered this case on Tuesday night and it arrived this afternoon. Pretty quick, since I received the e-mail about a 4 day delay.
Other than this case, I have bought both the Apple polyurethane smart cover and the Speck Pixelskin HD. I thought the smart cover's stand mechanism was flimsy (it fell apart on me the few times I tried it, and I checked to make sure I had folded it correctly) and was unstable on soft surfaces (lap, bed, couch). Plus it didn't cover the back, so using it as part of a case solution would've been expensive and inadequate for the way I wanted to use it.
I liked the look and material of the Pixelskin HD. It was quite slim (not much bulk) and made of a rigid but somewhat flexible, protective rubbery material. It was heavy, but that wasn't a dealbreaker. However, it didn't have the sleep wake feature, and having a stand mechanism similar to the smart cover
(except without magnets), it wasn't stable on soft surfaces. Since I like to use the iPad in bed / on the couch / on my lap, that wasn't working for me. Both of those cases are getting returned.
The first thing I noticed about the Switcheasy Canvas was that the material of the cover wasn't quite what I expected, even after watching video reviews. It was more fabric-y and not as smooth and plasticky as I expected. I'm more of a leather or silicone kind of person, but I can live with this material.
I like the canvas material because it doesn't slide around when sitting on the arm of my couch.
It's a heavy case, even heavier than the Pixelskin HD. It's also fairly bulky - not huge, but not as slim as some other cases I've seen. While I wish those aspects were different, I will keep this case anyway. Why?
It protects all of the iPad, even while in the stand positions. It seems quite protective, as far as cases go. It is very sturdy on soft surfaces - when I'm using it in bed or on my lap, I don't have to prop it up against anything and I can tap on the screen as much as I need to without the iPad feeling like it's going to tip or collapse or shift position. The look of the case isn't quite as
basic as I would prefer, but it's not unsightly.
I removed the case a couple of times after I received it, and it's not damaging as long as you're gentle with it. However, this is not a case I'd recommend if you plan on taking your iPad in and out of the case frequently.
I find each of the stand positions useful depending on the angle I'm in.
The latch that keeps the case closed has not been a problem for me. When i first got it, i tried the trick where you push slightly on the left side of the case with one thumb while you close the latch with the other. That worked fine, and even now after only opening and closing the case a handful of times, I can open and close it with one hand without much effort. Basically, it's a non-issue. Also, so far my Velcro works fine - nice and secure.
So, that's my review. It's not a perfect case for aesthetics or portability (not that it isn't portable, but it could stand to be thinner and lighter), but for security and practicality for my purposes (sturdiness, multiple positions) it's the best thing I've found so it will be the one I keep.
I only have one small issue - I have the black case, but the plugs that came with it appear to be the colour of the charcoal case. I assume that was an error, but I'm not going to bother contacting Switcheasy about it. For anyone else who has the black case - what colour are your plugs?
Are you sure their responses aren't going in your junkmail folder? They respond to me usually within a few hours with my questions. Also, I'm still finding it hard to believe that valcro (any valcro) would just stop working.
