Here's a pic of the brown Canvas case with my white iPad2 that Dzine wanted. I like the overall design of the case, but I'm unhappy with the stubborn clasp that I have to fight and fiddle with every time I open or close it. It has loosened up some with use, but it's still a pain (literally on my fingertips).

Thanks, just ordered it. Nice contrast the white with the brown.
The clasp thing is hopefully a matter of breaking in and stretching the fabric or cover a bit. It should arrive the 29th.

For those who have their orders recently shipped, what method of shipping did they use. Mine is USPS Priority Mail.
Got my shipping notification yesterday evening as well. USPS. Can't wait for it to arrive. Really hoping I'll enjoy using it.

I'm taking my Canvas case on a trip next week, and hopefully the material will loosen and break-in, which will make the clasp work easier. It's already getting better with some use. I do really like it otherwise, and the different viewing positions are great.

does anyone find it annoying to flip around the iPad when you switch from the viewing position to a typing position?

I just realized this could potentially be a big issue, especially if you have the screen orientation locked.

-read through MR, then decide to reply
-flip the iPad around and reset the stand
-why isn't the display flipping?? oh yeah it's locked. *click*
-type
-flip it back for browsing
-relock the orientation *optional*
-repeat

I find this is especially true because the viewing positions seem to be all pretty upright on the canvas(compared to CEO hybrid). I could see myself typing on the lowest stand position on the CEO hybrid, but not on the lowest stand position on the switcheasy canvas.

Congrats. I really hope it arrives today. My iPad 2 has been naked for over a month now. I can't take it anywhere until this arrives.

If you're browsing a forum where you usually respond, why not have the case in typing mode to begin with?

Well depending where you are browsing (couch, table, desk, bed, etc), it may be more appropriate to be in a slightly higher standing position.

But true, if I am in a dedicated "forums" mode or "email" mode or something else with heavy amounts of typing it would always be in your best interest to remain in the typing angle. But how many of use the iPad while focusing on one specific thing for a long period of time.

I would probably browse the news for a while, watch some youtube, then write in these forums, but then go back to other non-typing intensive apps for a while, then write an email... The point is that it takes more effort to switch between ideal viewing and typing modes than it should.

I might migrate to only using the typing angles all the time to avoid this, but doesn't that defeat the purpose?

:) I guess my point is that you'll have to adapt and exert some effort no matter what case you end up getting.

Has anyone got the Grey version? Is it the same colour as it looks on the switcheasy website because that looks more of a light brown to me.

Some had mentioned that the gray one is actually a khaki tan color, or a warm gray.

Ah okay. I found the charcoal version in stock now anyway from a place in the UK (Not in stock at the minute but just ordered for when it is back in stock)

But there is a difference between adjusting your stand one notch lower and flipping around the iPad 180 and setting up a new stand position.

I know I'm being nit picky here

All this is why Im wishing Id kept the Targus 360, it doesnt compare in the looks department, but it has the angles figured out...

The back bends enough to both hold like a book in one hand and set in a typing position without exposing the microfiber lining...At first i didnt like its bungee/elastic closure, but now i realize i prefer it because the cover will close flush without having to clasp anything shut, then strap the elastic when it needs to stay shut.

Cant have it all I guess

has anybody else noticed that the velcro on the back has completely lost grip after just a few days? i hadn't even been using it alot since im using my original ipad, maybe just a dozen times or so, and the velcro is hardly sticking anymore.

Not yet for me, hopefully it won't happen but I'll keep my eye on it as I just switched my iPad back to the Canvas after having the Marware CEO on for a while.

I hope this isn't true. I'm thinking of ordering one.

Anyways Switcheasy has a two year warranty, so if you just shoot them an email I'll bet they fix it for you.

This is one of the reasons I didn't order this case and when I mentioned it I had people telling me their astronaut suits had velcro which is still working after 15 years (ok, maybe im exaggerating slightly :p)

Anyway, tell them your case is defective and get it replaced. Hope everything works out for you! :)

Be careful... I have a case affected by the velcro issue (almost no grip now), but Switcheasy isn't responding to my emails (4 emails in almost a week and no response from them).

Product is great except for this annoying velcro issue, but the after-sales service is leaving me a little worried.

Is the velcro actually sewn into the case or just glued on? Is it possible to just glue a couple of magnets near the strips?

How does loose velcro affect the case? Seems like it wouldn't be much of a big deal - at least to me.

can someone take a picture of the case closed next to a mbp for comparison? Thanks

I think this is what you want. Let me know if you need something different. This is a 13" Macbook Pro
