Just got notice that my brown Canvas is on the way. Going to do a head to head on my own, against the iFrogz Summit I have now, and one is going to be the winner!

umm....just got an email that my brown canvas has shipped.

Has anyone returned their canvas 'successfully' for a refund?

Reason I ask, since it took a bit, I bought a regular targus case from bestbuy and the more I use it, the more I feel it meets my needs.
it's light, has a couple of stand options, does not add a lot of bulk and order-able from amazon for $33....just can't beat that value.

Alternately, I have to be fair to this canvas and use it for a bit to make sure this is one of the best portfolio cases for my ipad and hence, not return it.

decisions...decisions...

I got mine tonight!

I ordered the Canvas on the evening of 5/17. I was so surprised to get an email the next morning that they have shipped the item. It was delivered today 5/19. I live in southern California.

It took less than 2 minutes to take out of the packaging and install the iPad.

I am very happy with it. The quality is pretty good and it works as advertised. The hinge is not tight as some people have reported. My wife wants one but keeps asking if they have it in red. hopefully they will have other colors soon.
:)

Hi I am a new member, so my first post. I ordered the Switcheasy Canvas last night around midnight, UK time. Checked mail this morning, and I have my shipped email already :) had to choose the brown case, as that was the only option in stock, and ordered through the international option. Really hope it is all I think it will be.
Cannot get away with Apples smart cover , I also have a Cygnet case, lots of protection and very sturdy, but a pig to get to the port and buttons.

Regards
KathG

Ordered on Tuesday (5/17) and it was at my house on Thursday (5/19).

I was a little worried reading the stories here, but everything worked out well.

Thumbs up for Switcheasy.

I should be getting mine today. Hows the SP? Is it Crystal or AG? Is there another SP you can compare it too? Thanks!

I got my canvas on Saturday and for the most part I like it. There is one issue I see, and not sure if it's really an issue. When I fold it into the book position it seems like it doesn't crease right. Should the outer canvas and inner microfiber be glued together? I know mine is not. It doesn't fold flat very well unless I coax to crease right. How is everyone else's spine.

U know I never lOoked at the spine.

Are you having issues with the way it creases ?

I doubt there is any oil (Ie baseball glove)

Here is a pic with just folding it over

...and this is one where I had fold in the crease to make it lie flat

i dont see anything wrong there.

anyways - my new canvas is shipping out today - should have it tomorrow.

the latch never broke in on mine. hoping the new one resolves that issue

i just want to commend the switcheasy customer service for handling my ipad canvas case issue.

like some other members my latch never broke in and my velcro stopped holding.

i was prompty sent a new case.

it closes easily and the velcro holds

:D

Is there anyone who ordered internationally who asked for a replacement? How should you return your first Canvas? Do they cover the return costs?

ordered on the 24th and arrived this morning..very fast shipping and i am located in canada.

Canvas didn't work for me...unless someone can help...

SOLVED: I found the answer--thanks to watching psychonaut's YouTube comparison of the Canvas to the ifrogz Summit (thank you!). Whew--lots of "folding" options I hadn't thought of; I guess I don't have a future as an origami artist.

DH heated the clasp up a bit to soften it and now that works well, too (much too tight before, even when I tried the tips offered elsewhere on this forum; now it still holds firmly but I can open it without needing to visit the gym again).

I originally wrote: My Canvas came in and while the quality is good, color (brown) pretty closely matches website, and price was reasonable, I don't think I'm going to be keeping it. The reason? I haven't been able to figure out how to "fold" it into a low-angle typing position. I've contacted Switcheasy and they just referred me to the product page with its photos of the more "upright" iPad positions.

FWIW, shipping time for me was one day (but I'm only a couple of hundred miles from Tracy, CA, where they seem to ship from).

This is case and/or cover number four that I've tried (Apple Smart Cover, incase Magazine Folder, Zagg/Logitech bluetooth keyboard/case, Origami carrier for Apple keyboard). Sigh....

How is this case different than the Toblino one (leather) and seems slimmer to me? Toblino is cheaper by 10 bucks.

Hard to decide on a case!

The toblino doesn't protect the entire iPad. It leaves the ends exposed and when it's in stand mode, it leaves half the back exposed. The tabling is th same exact case as the targus Vuscape which I have. I've scratched up both ends. Not badly, but the fact is it's scratched. Plus the toblino doesn't. Come with the extras. It's a weak case.

true colors

Question for charcoal case owners and Psychonaut:
So I was looking at the review on ilounge and it looks like the charcoal is more of a bluish color compared to the way it looks on the switcheasy site. On your video review, it doesn't look as blue. I kind of like the idea of it having that bluish tone, if it is really that way but just curious what the actual true color is in real life: gray/graphite or bluish?

The gray looks more like lite tan on the ilounge page too.

Thanks! I have yet to buy the ipad2 (birthday present to myself...why was I born in July?!? :p) but decided to get my accessories ready so I could protect it right out of the box...just a little paranoid of breaking/scratching it. Husband says I'm going through ipad nesting. LOL!

I purchased this case for my Dad and while setting up his brand new iPad last night with the case attached, I couldn't enable the Auto On/Off iPad feature. I've read on the forums that it needs to be activated, by magnets, before the option shows up in the Settings/General Menu.

Do I have a defective case or am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

What did you use to heat the clasp? I got my second Canvas last week, and it's worse than the first!

All the pics I see in the wild of the Canvas seem to be of the black or the brown. Anyone have a grey or charcoal they would be willing to post a pic of? I'm curious what the real colors look like. Thanks.

I just ordered charcoal case today so hopefully I can put pictures up in a few days.I went back and forth between keeping the smart cover and getting the cover buddy for the back, or getting the canvas and finally just got tired of trying to make up my mind.
