Sorry if my question has already been answered. Just not going to read ten pages of replys in this thread to find it, so here it goes.

I have a protective skin on the back of my iPad. Will this case fit over it?

I just decided to take the plunge on this case to see if I like it. I have the Apple Case and use it a lot for normal use. However, there are times that I take it out of the case to use. This is when I'd love to have something like this case. Has anyone that got this case tried to use it inside the Apple Case? Wonder how it would or if it would it. I'm thinking it would as it is really thin and the Apple Case seems fo stretch a bit.

Just got a shipping email today so mine is on the way! I'm a little concerned about the reports of sharp edges, scratches, and cracking...hope it doesn't scratch my iPad:eek:

Patty

I wouldn't be too concerned about scratching the iPad. I have multiple copies of this case and they are all smooth so my assumption is those having rough spots must be on the edges not the area that the ipad lies in.

I have not had any issues with mine whatsoever.

Hi Psychonaut,

Really enjoyed your case review videos on YouTube. I'm curious about the Switcheasy versus the Belkin - the Belkin, being softer, would seem to offer more impact protection than the Switcheasy. Is that correct, do you think? I don't mean protection from dropping it out of a second storey window, but I mean just in terms of the odd bump to the corners here and there. My impression is that the Switcheasy would crack, and it would just transmit the force through to the iPad. The Belkin would be a little more resiliant and maybe take a knock a bit better.

My other question is about the Hard Candy Sleek Skin. Would you be prepared to do a video review of it? It looks great to me, but the images on the website are limited and I can't find a hands-on review anywhere.

I don't have any experience with this since I didn't install BestSkinEver or Zagg InvisibleShield on my iPad 3G (I've installed them both before on my iPhone). I assume that SwitchEasy NUDE wouldn't fit on an iPad with some kind of wrap installed on its back or sides. It's a pretty tight fit.

I'm not sure why you would need a protective skin on the back PLUS a thin TPU/plastic case as well? Surely the Switcheasy (or the Belkin Grip Vue) supercedes the protective skin?

Are you in the US or UK? I ordered mine on Wednesday (5th) and it is apparently being delivered tomorrow (10th).
I'm a little bit worried about how good it will be now, since there are quite a few complaints on this thread.
I've ordered the clear version and I'll add to this thread once I get it (if people want me to), although I obviously don't have an iPad yet.

Neil.

Well my clear NUDE arrived today, after a quick look over I can say that all seems to be ok with it in regards to cracks etc. There is a tiny mark on the top where they have cut it from the mold, but really not at all noticeable without hunting for it. I can't comment on fit (UK here). No sharp edges or markings.
Hope this helps some of you make a decision. I can post pics, but I don't think it would be worth it without it being on an iPad.

Neil.

I've had my ultraclear for a couple days and have been happy with it. I didn't see any defects in the case.

The only problem was the screen protector that came with it. I had this five inch crease in the middle of it. I realized it after I put it on. You don't see it when it's on but you can see it when it's sleeping.

So I'll have to buy another screen protector for it.

Thanks for the feedback on the videos.

Yes, the Belkin will offer better protection IMO. Because it adds a little more bulk and because the material is TPS vs Hard plastic it will absorb bumps (like shock protection). The Belkin also covers some of the iPad bezel where the SwitchEasy does not.

I feel the SwitchEasy Nude is really meant for minimal protection but it works for me since I keep my iPad in a case when it's not in use and im very protective of it.

I would LOVE to do a video on the Hard Candy Sleek Skin, looks really nice but right now I can not afford to pick up another case. I have an email out to Hard Candy to see about a review copy but I have not heard back so unless that comes through I probably will not do one.

Okay, I'm totally up for starting a PayPal funding drive for you to buy some Sleek Skins and do a video review!

Just received my Ultraclear Switcheasy Nude on Saturday. So far I'm loving it, provides exactly what I was looking for, which was some type of protection against scratches to the back of the ipad.

One drawback so far is that even though it does fit on the Apple Dock, it will not charge. Only way to get it to charge is to force it down by hand, but once you let go it stops. I may just use an exacto knife and cut around it, but this is very annoying!

Anyone else seeing this issue?

I am hoping to do a video review within a week on a potential solution to these docking issues. The video I will shoot is more of a work around and while not ideal (involves spending more money) it removes the need to cut cases.

Basically what I am talking about is dock extenders. I have 1 dock extender cable and another dock extender plug on the way. They are the same size as the charging cable that comes with the iPad so if that fits this will fit. One end plugs into the iPad and the other has a female connector so you can plug in the dock, camera connection kit, etc...

Price ranges from $11 to $29 depending on what you get. I think the best solution might be the more expensive one made by Sendstation:

I got mine off Amazon and once it arrives I'll do a video.

Ah! I don't know which to go for  I pre-ordered my iPad this morning and would like to have a case with me for when I go to Hong Kong for 3 weeks. It'll be stored in a MacBook sleeve whilst inside a bag and I'm looking for a decent amount of usability (Like gripping), good looks (Bit subjective but whatever) and the ability to withstand bumps whilst in my bag.

I'm currently stuck between the Belkin Grip Vue or this.. I love the clear back of both and trying to force me to go with something with a black back would be hard to do. Any recommendations?

I tried the Belkin Grip, and now I am using the Nude.

Both are good, but I returned the Belkin Grip because it takes a little time to get it in and out of the case, and I want the flexibility of getting it in and out quickly. I can easily get the iPad in and out of the Nude, and that is why I prefer it.

I ordered a white Nude and I am not happy with the fit on the top (I have the Wi-Fi iPad). It's got a gap and it's loose on top (the side where the power button is), so when I use it in landscape makes a squeaking noise. Also it's sharp all around the edges and especially rough in the four corners. There is a deep mark on top where it was cut from the mold as well.

I keep my iPad in a Griffin Elan Passoprt when outside the house, so I realy like the fact that I can keep my Nude on, as it was too bulky with the Belkin Grip Vue in the Elan Passport. I hope the replacement case fits better because I really want to keep it.

From the very different stories we are getting about the Nude, there is a theory that they are not of the same batch. Mine is perfect.

All the ones I show in my videos are perfect so maybe there was a bad batch as the post above states.

I just received my case today. I was impressed with fast shipping. 3 days (HK to CA)

Mine has sharp edges and the top cut-out mark. I emailed them about it. Did anyone happen to know what they said about these issues?

Nothing in this world that can be considered as scratch proof, not even glass lenses!

Hello,

This is probably the most common mistake but the scratch resistant coating have a harder surface that is more resistant. It is does NOT make it impenetrable or ultimately scratch proof. That’s why anything that you may come to know as scratch proof is nothing but scratch resistant.
If ever it was indeed scratch proof then you could freely place your naked device, or gadget inside your pocket together with your car keys and expect
it to have no scratches in the end.

Another thing will lead to scratches, after a bit of time in and out of your jacket/pocket/purse your device picks up some dust, small dust builds up or dirt particles, between it and your device will create an ideal environment for scratches. Unfortunately, all cases leave scratches if dust and dirt gets trapped in between.

The iPad/iPhone/iPodTouch use a large glass touchscreen to interact with the user. The touchscreens need to be cleaned repeatedly. Improper cleaning of the iPod/iPhone/iPad touchscreen can result in scratches and damages to the touchscreen.

The bottom line is depending on how you treat your cases, or your devices in order to keep your Apple gadget working for many years to come. :)

"Treat them the way you want to be treated" All smile :D

Is there a possibility of scratching the ipad with repeatedly putting the case on/off?
