Aside for the cosmetic issues I have with my nude, I really don't like it. It's a poor design. Naked, the ipad had nice chamfered edges where the alu case meets the screen. This makes it feel nice in the hand. With the switcheasy nude, the edges don't wrap around the iPad the way they don on their iPod cover, and as a result there's a definite edge that annoys the palm of your hand when holding it. It's also much thicker than their iPod cover. It feels crap, rushed to market to cash in ahead of a proper moulded release.

Coversely, the photos of incipio's feather show what appears to be a thinner case which follows the iPad profile and wraps over the chamfered edges. That case looks like it's gonna be much nicer in the hand. My money is going there.

Switch easy are still ignoring my emails regarding my scratched and poor fitting case by the way. Don't buy the hype, this case is not something you'll want to use for long. I reckon it's a stop gap.

Are you sure about that. Some reports here on MR say that the Incipio Feather has fit issues.

See how the lip does not come all the way around. How does it say on? Double stick tape?

As for my Switcheasy's fit. It fits perfectly and I even have a protective overlay on the back of my iPad.

Really. Didn't know that. Their website must be misleading. Oh well. I'll wait for the next round of cases from someone. All I know is I'm not happy with the nude. Though I do love my iPods nude. Will wait.

Complete and utter horsepoop. My feather snaps all the way over the edges and doesn't require tape. Anyone who left their case like that didn't snap it over the edge fully. I made that mistake initially and then realized that it need a little more force to snap it on. The fit is perfect.

The only reason I'm following this thread is that I wish the feather had more coverage on the top and bottom.

Any chance of some pics darkAether? I'm tempted to order the feather, but might wait to see if they hit the Apple Store.

I'm hugely disappointed in how the Nude looks and feels in the hand - the biggest issue being that it is quite thick and doesn't wrap over the chamfered edges of the iPad - making it uncomfortable. If it weren't for the edge, I could live with the poor fit along the top of my wifi iPad, and the scratches and mould marks. But the edges make it horrible in the hand if like me you hold it with your thumb wrapped over to the border.

I gotta say that I love ny Nude so far. I have the clear and it fits great! The screen protector isn't bad, either. It's no Power Support and it only cuts glare a bit...but it does help some with fingerprints. I am a bit concerned how it will look over time as it gathers scratches, but I suppose that' what it's for. It even fits in the Apple Case with it on...it's snug, but it works. Great for typing and still protecting the screen. I was considering the Power Support, but don't know that I want to pay another $35 for protection. $39 for Apple case and now $29 for Nude...I think that may be enough.

Run your finger around the top edge of the case. On mine, and I suspect everyone's - judging from the pictures posted - the case is flush with the top surface of the iPad all the way around the bottom and sides, but at the top it's clear the case isn't quite the right shape which causes it to sit slightly below the surface of the iPad and causing a little movement htere too. I think the mould is slightly incorrect. 30 notes for a bit of moulded plastic is a lot of dosh - worse when you consider that it's not a perfect, nor comfy fit. I'm guessing that so many people don't want to accept that, that they are smothered in emails and are now ignoring them.

That aside, I don't like the fact it doesn't wrap over the chamfered edge of the iPad, nor the fact that it is twice as thick as their superb iPod nude.

edit: I guess if you are using it inside the Apple case then it's short comings aren't gonna be apparent.

Look at the top edge. You can see on all those photos that the top of the case sits flush on the side and buttom, but on the top you can see it moving further and further away from the top face as you move towards the middle of the top surface. There's even a slight bulge and curving of that face. It's definitely a slightly better fit than mine, and either way, the fact the edges don't wrap the way they do on the iPhone/iPod Nude is really disappointing.

what color did you order? I ordered the black and it has all the exact same issues that you mentioned. The replacement black also has same issues.

I'm wondering if the color has anything to do with the fit and maybe they corrected a mold issue when they started the other colors?

I was wondering the same thing.

Mine is clear. I imagine they all come from the same mold and all are identical, it's just that it doesn't bother some, rather than some cases being perfect vs some not.

My case is perfect. Perfectly aligned and flush with the top edge of the iPad. (perhaps you have a different definition of "perfect")

another thing i wanted point out was the miscommunication between various staff at Switcheasy.

I contacted them to explain tyhe issues I had with the case (fit, rough edge, etc etc all the same issues as everyone else)

I spoke w/ Zoltan and asked instead of exchanging for the same color, could they send a clear instead of the black.

He replied no problem, send me the address and color and we'll get it out pronto.
a tracking # was sent. After 2-3 days, no case and the tracking # did not update just showed as electronic notification. I'm in So California so it only takes 1 or 2 days for them to send me thru the US Mail.

they bungled up and thought that I was waiting for a 3G case. This has been well documented already. anyways, I ask again please send the wifi case and as I discussed with Zoltan please send a clear.

Sat I received the case and it is black. It also has a lot of the same issues as before. NO improvement. Same case, same issues. I then email Zoltan again, and explained that we worked out that he would send a clear case.

Lexi replies and states that they can only exchange for the same color. It is company policy.

I reply I understand her policy. But in my correspondence w/ Zoltan I asked for a clear case and he approved it. My beef now, is if it is company policy - Zoltan should have clearly stated that in my communications with him. When i specifically asked for a clear case, that should have been his opportunity to explain their company policy in detail so not to set up any false expectations.

I explained that I was very unhappy in how they did not address this and that they should stand behind what they said they will do.

They will not budge and I can return both cases, pay for return shipping out of my pocket for their defective case. Then I can reorder the case that I want.

1-I shouldn't have to pay any return shipping. The cases are all defective.
2-an employee at Switcheasy said it was okay to exchange for different color. This set up the expectation on my end that I was to receive a clear case.
3-they did not stand behind what was promised by Zoltan

I will not pay return shipping for a defective product.

Looking to get the clear. From what I saw/heard/read the stands that come with it are pretty decent and you can also put the iPad in the charging Apple Dock with the case on. Two questions:

1. Does anyone also have a skin (BSE, IS, XO, etc.) on their iPad? Does this make it a better fit or will it not fit with a skin?

2. How is the quality of the screen protector film? Does it reduce fingerprints? Is it anti-glare or clear? Does it make text duller/blurry?

Thanks.

The iPad CANNOT be put into the dock with the case on. It technically fits most of the way, but not enough to "connect".

2. The quality of the screen protector is worth what I paid for it: zero. It is clear and does not dull the text or blur the clarity of the screen. It is serviceable enough (for now) to not be worth spending $20 for a separate protector. It reduces fingerprints SLIGHTLY but it is more difficult to remove fingerprints. Without the protector it was very easy to remove fingerprints with the microfiber cloth that came with my MBP. But with the protector, it requires a bit more effort.

I like the switcheasy nude more than I thought that I would.

I thought a few other people were saying that like the Incipio Feather, you could use the SwitchEasy Nude with the Apple Dock. I am talking about the regular dock and not the keyboard dock which I heard stands taller. So it will fit in the dock as a stand but couldn't be charged with it?

Just discovered that yes, you can dock your iPad in the Apple iPad dock. But it will not charge. Simply because the case will not let your iPad seat completely into the 30 Pin connector.

That may be the one upside to the Incipio Feather. I think the entire bottom except for the corners is exposed allowing it to completely dock. The thing I like about the SwitchEasy from what I have seen is the folding stands that are added in. Maybe more stands like this will come out soon. But I would pay $4.99 to $7.99 for the pair of stands and skip the case, especially since I have a Bestskinsever on my iPad and an Apple Case and Apple Dock, I don't really have a need for an ultra-thin non-impact snap-on shell like this.

EDIT:

So I emailed SwitchEasy for info if they will or can sell just the stands. Their answer was that they can at their discretion send out replacement parts that they have extra of if I request it and they have it. Just email them my receipt, info, etc. I emailed back that I have no receipt and was confused. They wrote back that I could request with my receipt, info, etc., but if I did not have a receipt they could not help me. Umm, the point was I just wanted a stand or two. If they won't sell it to me, I can't request it, because I would need a receipt. But duh, if I order a Nude I get the stands and I don't need to request anything. So unless I bought something else from them that I did want/need, I wouldn't be able to request a free stand and they aren't going to package them separate from the case.

I am very worried now.

Is it confirmed if you order this, then it won't fit the 3G iPad? Doesn't seem there's a conclusive answer in this thread.

I just emailed them with my concern.

This case looks awesome, I'd hate to have a bad experience with it.

I cancelled my pre-order with play, despite waiting for 2 months and them fulfilling some orders, mine wasn't one of them! (black iPhone case)

I ordered direct from Switcheasy in German and received my case in 3 days, shipping was only 3€.

The case looks brilliant, it's so thin it's like there's no case at all!
