Okay, I get it - you have no one to play with - carry on, soldier.
Are you for real. . This is a debate about android version ios, not liking when the truth hurts..
Don't you mind not getting personal pls..
I like to think as this forum and it's users as my friends.
don't everr change my friend, in my eyes you are spot on...Sure. Mind if I repost some of your past posts where you don't mind getting personal?
On second thought, that would be bad form on my part. Carry on.
Hi guys.
I am an android user for almost 5 years. Always had a good experience with it because I never used a samsung phone besides a galaxy nexus with pure android.
Also I started with ice cream sandwich so never used the laggy gingerbread.
I'm 24 now and do not have the time I had back then to customize, root, tinker with settings etc. So I always heard the iPhone is reliable and all the good stuff and it just works.
I think my current android phone is good, a htc m8 running the latest android version, but I think android is not a very polished OS.
I will tell some examples to make my point:
-my device got hot for no reason, I am used with android so a reboot fixed it.
-sometimes things stop working for no reason, like I open an app like whatsapp and it shows a blank screen is easy to fix, close the app and open again, or when I click a link in Twitter and it opens chrome but chrome do not redirect to Instagram or YouTube and I have to close and open again.
-when downloading a new game is uncertain the performance, i downloaded horizon chase, the game didn't opened until I rebooted, one of the problems of being in the newest android version, most apps are not made for it.
-gta San Andreas is almost impossible to run at max settings. I don't know how settings compare with android and ios but I saw some videos of it running on iPhone 6s and looks like most effects were turned on.
There is some other things that annoys me, like the battery that can stay at 100% for 9 hours in standby and other times some app gets stuck and drains 50% the battery. When playing a game or watching YouTube videos the phone gets extremely hot, is not like warm, is like will burn your skin.
I really want to try and iPhone because I think I will do not have any of this problems.
Of course I will miss stereo speakers, fast charging or taking pictures in 16:9 but I can live with that. I also will spend like twice the price on the 6s plus 64gb than a note 5, that I think that is a better device but have android that I am trying to avoid for now.
I am deciding for the plus model, i dont know if the device is too big. I think the iPhone 6 is a very good device to hold, but I don't think I can downgrade to sub 1080p panel, also there is the battery, i see most of my friends in the wall, while I am OK with my m8, maybe is the usage pattern.
What do you guys think? Is an iPhone really worth the price even if is the price of a motorcycle? What I am afraid is that I spend this much and it is no different from my current experience.
Also should I go for plus model? I am unsure because I am afraid about that rendering and downscaling that plus model do will hurt performance in games, I would prefer the device with better performance.
I hope you guys can help me with this, Thanks in advance.
No matter what you wrote in your signature: you clearly don't have an iPhone OR you actually don't know anything abut it.OP don't switch to iPhone. The whole ecosystem is extremely limited and very expensive compared to Android.
- You want to store photos in the cloud? iCloud Photo Library is your only choice and you have to pay top dollar for it. In addition iCloud Photo Library is very slow and very buggy. Yes, you can use Google Photos on iOS but it will always feel like second class and will not be integrated into iOS since you can't make it your default photo app.
- Want to mirror your iPhone to a large TV? You have to buy Apple TV to do that which will cost you $150, compared to $35 for chromecast on Android.
- Want to sync your photos from your iCloud Photo Library to a PC? Too bad, you will have to own a mac to do that. Want to edit iCloud Photo on a PC? Again you will need a mac.
- You can't drag and drop files into iPhone's file system. If you want to copy music to your phone you will have to use iTunes which is the worst and most confusing piece of software ever written.
- Do you want to have first party experience with Gmail? Too bad you will not have push in default mail app. Yes you can download Gmail's own app but again it will not be integrated into iOS and will always feel like second class app.
- In iOS you will have horrible experience with anything and everything that's not made by Apple and it's done intentionally to make you use Apple's apps.
Unfortunately in Brazil prices are out of the market ....Thanks for the answers guys. Is a really tough decision mainly for the price. Here in Brazil is a insanely priced phone. Is not like US that is the same price every year, here the new model is always more expensive than the older one. The smaller 16gb 6s is more expensive than the 64gb 6 plus.
If they were priced like a note 5 would be easy, I buy it and if I don't like I just sell and buy a note 5, but with this amount of money the phone really needs to be the best and reliable. And if I buy it I and like it I will probably use for more than two years because of the money invested.
What I usually see is that some apps arrives first and works best on ios, then it arrives on android and there is a lot of updates to fix.
One example was snapchat, all my friends were using it and I downloaded to check it out. The app was a mess, didn't even let me create an account. Months later I downloaded again and was completely different and working.
Another example is games that arrive first on ios. I'm not a mobile gamer but I was jealous when ios got fallout shelter. Also another awesome game called "framed", a cousin showed me on ios, it wasn't available on android, months later it arrived, i bought in the first day, then game crashed in one part, lose all progress and emailed the developer, it was fixed after some days. This is what I don't like, on ios, the chance of this happening is minimal.
So is a really tough decision, thanks for the help and if anyone still wants to add more content here I will be more than happy.
If you compare high-end models there's no match: Apple wins hands on.Tbh, that market share includes very cheap Android phones in a market that Apple refuses to compete in. If analysts are able to divide the Android share between flagship and non-flagship devices then that market share will shrink markedly. It will also make for a better comparison since Apple does not and will not compete in low end devices.
He wrote a full list of plain false points.False. I have access to view/edit my photos on iCloud using a windows PC.
It appears that you just did my friend..No matter what you wrote in your signature: you clearly don't have an iPhone OR you actually don't know anything abut it.
You can store your photo in Dropbox, Onedrive or other cloud services you wish.
Chromecast is a joke compared to AppleTV.
Using one of the above mentioned cloud services you can sync whatever you want with your PC, if you can't afford a Mac (which I highly recommend over a PC).
I don't like iTunes but it is not even close to the mess you described and it supports drag and drops for almost everything.
Gmail on iOS have PUSH since the beginning. Nothing "second class" about the iOS app.
You put in your post an incredible number of false BS pretending to be an Apple user while every single of your posts is downplaying Apple.
Unfortunately in Brazil prices are out of the market ....
I wouldn't buy an Apple product there.
If you compare high-end models there's no match: Apple wins hands on.

He's trolling the forum with anti-Apple propaganda.
I would invite you to do a very fast search on this guy's activities on the forum: he is actively posting only on threads bashing the iPhone. Amazing...
I won't feed it.

I back up all my photos to OneDrive and never had an issue. Dont edit so thats not an issue but if i did want to i could just download to any PC from OneDrive then save it back.OP. Here's more points against switching to iPhone.
- Apple will intentionally slow down your device with iOS 10 in order to make you upgrade to the newer iPhone.
- Can't drag and drop ringtones!
- Can't drag and drop your photos into iPhone. Yes you can use dropbox but they will always stay there in dropbox app. They will never appear in photos app
Some of what you responded to is the way things are with iOS, sprinkled with a healthy dose of hyperbole. But great response.I back up all my photos to OneDrive and never had an issue. Dont edit so thats not an issue but if i did want to i could just download to any PC from OneDrive then save it back.
I currently use my iPhone and iPad with a Chromecast and i can stream stuff no issue and mirror using Momocast app.
Adding music to my phone from iTunes is a doddle...i have a playlist that i update and sync to the phone. So to add stuff its select the music, add to playlist, sync...job done in three steps!
I've used Gmail for years on my phone, push email worked fine until Google turned it off unless you paid them. It still worked for users who had it on the same phone\ipad prior to the change but new devices, or what Google perceived to be a new device, couldnt have it any more. I restored my phone as new a while back and lost it then. That said i still use fetch every 15mins and works fine for me.
I generally use Google Maps over Apple maps just out of habit, use Chrome on the iPad sometimes and various other things.
I think you make a big deal about Apple doing things to make folk do what Apple want you to do without a lot of proof to be honest. No one is forced to do anything with an iPhone and you can use apps from all sorts of folks to do things. I use MS office over Apples stuff as another example. I'm also into my 3rd year on the same iPhone 5 and its running iOS9.1 without any issues and i feel no reason to upgrade unless i make the decision to have a new phone. Previously i ran a 3GS for over three years and again updated when i decided it was time to have a new phone.
I'll gve you ringtones but in the grand scheme of things its hardly something to gripe about.
As mentioned i back up to Onedrive that gives me a perfectly functional viewing option within the app after uploading to it and i can access from my iPhone, iPad or any web connected PC\Mac. I also use other cloud storage providers such as Dropbox for personal stuff, Google Drive for a back up of the My Documents on my laptop and the Box for all the digital camera photos we have...all for a total cost of £0.
I've literally never had any of those issues.OP don't switch to iPhone. The whole ecosystem is extremely limited and very expensive compared to Android.

iTunes confuses you?! Wow. I'll be 60 this month and it doesn't confuse me at all.
As for it being the worst piece of software ever written, hyperbole much?
I disagree. I have several phones that I use everyday: Note 4, Note Edge, iPhone 6+, iPhone 5S and even an old Nexus 4.leandronb: To make a long story short. Dont switch. You will regret. Android is better by far.
again someone not knowing iOS / trolling and speaking about iOS ...itunes in windows is just awful, and it is not any better in osx either. in windows it is very laggy, unstable and just horrible to use - i refuse to use it whenever it is possible (win/osx). it is uninformative, sometimes i have no idea what it does or if it even does anything. backuping your device is just from another dimension. some data is in the folder x and some are on somewhere when the rest are no where and it is abit difficult to change the drive where it stores your data (e.g. c is full but it only makes backuping for c)... using itunes to make a custom ringtone? i had to read step-by-step manual to do it. and i have been using computers since dos and know unix/linux/win/osx. so i have to agree, i havent seen so confusing software since.... ?
you dont need to buy AppleTV to mirror/airplay your content to tv from iphone. you just need to buy an android tv box that can do it. i use my android tv box weekly to airplay/mirror my mbpr/iphone/ipad... i prefer android tv box because i can use kodi/airplaying/mirroring and run GApps and use bt keyboard and mouse to control it. easy to stream and no connectivity problems.
sharing files isnt good in ios and sometimes you get gray hair. opening the file between apps causes that you have several copies of the file. some apps like "documents" (must have!) help alot but still... you cant choose default apps to open files which makes things complicated sometimes.
again someone not knowing iOS / trolling and speaking about iOS ...
Using cloud services/iCloud Drive you don't need to have more copies of your files.
If you can't handle iTunes Im sorry about you ... even my wife can (and she is the worst computer user ever)
Not an huge fan of iTunes , but it is not difficult (my wife is the proofWell in his defense iTunes is pretty difficult to use at times. I'm not in favor of using iCloud because I have to pay for it after 5 gigs.
I have figured out how to create a custom ringtone in iTunes but again somethings are more difficult with iTunes than with android. Just the nature of the game.
Not an huge fan of iTunes , but it is not difficult (my wife is the proof).
About iCloud, the 50 Gb plan is amongst the cheaper on the market ($0,99). The world is changing towards cloud services, deal with it. OneDrive, Dropbox or iCloud, choose whatever you want, but you have to pay to have an usable service.
I found quite ridiculous that people can afford $600-700 phones and complain about $0,99![]()
It's not only Apple.Any of the cloud services really don't work for me for a few reasons.
I use iTunes exclusively to manage what I have on the iPad and iPhone in conjunction with local storage on my computer.
Cool story bro, anything to back this up. . Nope.. didn't think so. .Loving this thread. Some good comedy from several drama queens.
At 10 this morning I'm going to my IT folks to pick up my work issued iPhone and get rid if my SGS5, the buggiest crappiest work phone I've ever had the misfortune of using.
The IT person who took my order said that the majority of the people who initially picked Android devices are requesting early porting over to the iPhone 6.
So......yah.....seems most of my agency has spoken and the iPhone IS that good.
Ha. And do you really think I'd take a video of the mobility program manager attesting to this so that you would be satisfied? Come on.Cool story bro, anything to back this up. . Nope.. didn't think so. .
Exactly! Most IT departments love Apple devices because they are already so locked down and dummy proof!
Nothing to do with it being a more productive or business friendly device.
