Switching from android, is iPhone really that good?
Good, worth, etc are all highly subjective regardless of topic. You're asking on an Apple discussion forum site so you should know what sort of replies you'll get. However, to answer your question you have to try and decide for yourself. You can't poll others to determine what you find to be good and worthwhile. Adding yet another thread on this topic isn't going to reach a conclusion that has not been reached by the countless prior threads on the same topic.

No option is universally best. Every option has pros and cons and one has to decide where one is willing to make compromises and where one's priorities lie. If selecting a smartphone was universal matter like fanboys make it out to be then everyone would use one smartphone and no one would use any of the alternatives.

Some switch from one to the other and stay. Some try the other and switch back. Some go to yet a different smartphone option than an IOS or Android device. No matter how much info you include in your OP we can't tell you which is best for you. You have to find that out. Make sure you're aware of your return period when you make a purchase, take for a test spin and fully test before your return period runs out.

What do you guys think? Is an iPhone really worth the price even if is the price of a motorcycle?
What motorcycles are you buying? Yikes.

Also should I go for plus model?
Also your call to make. Try the devices out in store. Select one. Again, take it for a test spin and really use it before your return period runs out. We really can't tell you which is best suited to you.

So I always heard the iPhone is reliable and all the good stuff and it just works.
I think my current android phone is good, a htc m8 running the latest android version, but I think android is not a very polished OS.
IOS isn't immune from problems but on the whole I find it to be much less trouble than Android.

Many years ago I was tired of coming home from fixing other people's problems at work only to have to fix problems on my smartphone so I switched from Android to IOS and have been very happy. I recently took advantage of Samsung's test drive offer and while the device was well made with premium materials and build quality, had an excellent screen and excellent camera I still found that I couldn't stand Android. The Settings app crashed on my multiple times and all I was doing was navigating the menus. YMM certainly V. IOS seems to suit me best.

Most IT departments love Apple devices because they are already so locked down and dummy proof!
Nothing to do with it being a more productive or business friendly device.

The SGS5 was equally locked down through the use of Good. I can't download anything to either device. I can't even copy and paste from one email to another. I can't even email to a non recognised address. Forget sending attachments outside the agency. Forget trying to get rid of the policy. You'll end up with an ugly brick.

Both devices are equally locked.

The difference, having experienced it for one whole painful year, is that the SGS5 is a bug infested hot mess.

So try another Apple and iPhone and iPhone user insulting and bashing cliché. But before you do, inform yourself on how different MDM solutions work.

It was indeed locked down, how would it have the ability to be a mess?
You're basically saying a fully restricted phone was buggy? Normally third part apps on Android are what makes the phone buggy or your administrator wasn't allowing Samsung's updates.
Good one...

Don't you even know what bug infested even means? And do you have the technical knowledge to recognise what is a bug and what isn't. . Or are you just spouting off.

So now you're onto attacking me personally?

I'm an IT PMP. We do development, O&M, and systems integration for several customer facing systems as well as intranet. My team and I troubleshoot interoperability issues ranging from PPFs to db errors. I push new functionality to production every two weeks for all my systems. I oversee UAT, FQT, performance, and regression testing for all my systems.

Our big push right now is responsive web design throughout all of my agency's web portals.

I know what a bug is. I'd take a picture of my SGS5 to illustrate a perfect example of a bug infested hot mess but thankfully it's no longer in my possession.

Good one...

Oh dear.....

MDM manages the use and the functions of the device. What it connects to and what it can't connect to. The IT policy set in each restricts the communications and access of the device.

That has nothing to do with the OS. Which is indeed a hot mess.

Third party apps are white listed. I can't go and load anything off Google Play. Or the App Store due to IT policy restrictions.

Now...you can go rogue and go to a forum and root your device. And you can kiss your phone goodbye and you could have some rather nasty things to deal with considering that you tampered with government policy and accessed government systems without authority. You hacked in. Sure.

And then you'd be in an orange jumpsuit.

Good one yourself. Try to figure out the difference between an MDM solution and an IT policy and its enforcement vs an OS that's buggier than a summer picnic. Then try to give me "good one."

Lol we all have stories filled with hyperbole and ******** to prove our point so it really doesn't carry any weight on here anyway but feel free to bash Android and worship iOS!

So showing a picture of a mobile phone proves it's a buggy mess.. I think not..

I have a great deal of experience with Samsung devices over the last few years, along with all the major OEMs, and buggy mess. Is not something I would tarr samsung with.. too much faff maybe.. maybe over complicated ideas. . But not once have I ever experienced what I would call.a.bug.. but then.i do the have any.bias, I just tell it how it is..

You do realise the most bug infested piece of software in the last decade is ios9 don't you.. it bricked people's devices for crying out.loud.. and this.is the end of the rainbow that you are suggesting folk should run towards. . Jeez..

And Lollipop trashed both my Note 4 AND the SGS hot mess. To this day FB in my Note 4 is nearly unusable.

And don't get me started on my Atrix or my SGS3.

Try another one.

Just cause you proclaim it doesn't make it a fact!
Maybe you need to read up on the definition or what a fact is.

Oh brother. You really don't get it. The joke went right over your head. That's OK.

Bias. That's a good one.

I'm concurrently using four platforms. And I've had three Samsung phones and one Atrix.

The Note 4 was good until Lollipop. The SGS 3 and 5 were nightmares. The SGS2 I actually enjoyed. The Atrix was passable when I removed Blur.

The One Plus One was a joy.

If I were biased I would simply say they were all trash. Instead I'm saying specific ones were a buggy hot mess.

LOL!!!!!

What isn't a fact? That the SGS5 sucked?!?? It did. That's why so many people are trying to get rid of them at my agency.

Maybe you need to stop attacking people and counter with an intelligent opposing viewpoint.

iOS 8 had more issues for more people.

Defensive much? Nobody is attacking you personally, just that your claim your opinion as fact.
But then again you don't know what facts are so you're forgiven!

.
So.... because a handful of people worldwide at your agency out of the millions and millions of people who owned s5's Had issues.. that means it sucked. . FACT!!!
Wow, how black and white is your world...

I got nexus 6 when it was 199 this past black Friday on amazon, i have to say, i really like it so far compared to my 6s plus. Ill say this, not one phone out there, and i have tried a plethora of phones over the years (been smart phone user since Motorola mpx200 days and numerous symbian phones), has auto brightness down like apple has.

OP, if you haven't left yet you can see what a mess it can be to ask your question here. Or same question on an Android Forum. Fanboys of one phone or the other, slanted views, wrong information etc. I have owned Android phones from Froyo and the first Nexus phone. Rooted all of them. Got tired of it and at my son's pushing got an iphone. No regrets. He and his wife have owned Apple products for 2 decades. Never any issues. It was not that I was unhappy with Android, but if I never rooted, updates would be long coming. Apple gets them to everyone immediately. And any issues are quickly fixed and sent out for the most part. The iPhone ecosysytem is great. Now my wife has an iPhone and iPad Air and other son will get one soon. And the phones now have a back feature (one thing I missed from Android on my 6 Plus) and I can share to whomever I want thru several methods. I use iCloud only now and prefer it. But, there are many storage methods out there. iTunes does have a little learning curve. You are not restricted to it. Use Google Play if you wish. But, most things do. I am not a Fanboy, but my 6s Plus 128gb is the best phone I have owned. No yellow tint, buttery smooth, good battery life, perfect IMHO. I will not go back to Android. That doesn't mean I think they are inferior. Just not for me anymore. Pricing, value is a personal thing. I don't know if you can test one in Brazil. But, that is what I would do. I can't see you disappointed as most of your concerns with Android will be resolved with the iPhone.

I also had an S5, and thought it sucked. It was so bad I went back to an iPhone 4 with a bad battery while I tried to get rid of the S5 to buy a 6s.

Are you suggesting this is a big thing..

Better still, no one has best moBile display down like samsung had... is that better.

Wow, how black and white is your world...

Why would I attempt to speak for the world? I spoke of the fact that the majority of people in my agency who had SGS5s are trying desperately to get rid of them because they're simply horrible.

I regretted having got mine just days after getting it. From the stupid little charging port door that required digging my nail into the slot every single time it needed charging to the overheating to spontaneous crashes to the ridiculously poor implementation of Good, to the screen not responding where I touched it but rather somewhere where it deemed appropriate, it was a hot mess, literally.

Fact is that we can't do a wipe cache partition task on the enterprise SGS5, which is one of the options for dealing with bugs so we're stuck with a buggy laggy slow freezing crashing hot mess.

And if you talk millions of users, there are far less millions of users worldwide than Samsung expected. Devices just weren't selling.

Don't know why you feel compelled to argue against something of which you have no personal knowledge.

Passive aggressive much? When your words are filtered out of a post as in the one below, generally they're not complimentary.

Seems you feel better equipped to discuss my agency's mobile fleet than I do. Which is, of course, ludicrous.
