You can quickly switch to the Emoji keyboard like you do with the standard keyboard. It does have quick access to one smiley face, but I don't know if you can customize which face it uses.

I'm guessing that for some reason the GM version cannot see Swype! I have the GM as well and could not find it in the APP store for the device I had to locate and purchase it in Itunes on my PC!

Must be a GM bug or issue!

It's more likely that you just can't see it in the store yet. Apples servers are running full out pumping iOS 8 to lots of people and updating the store with many items. Within a few hours you should be able to find it. (And apparently the public release is the same build as the GM, so that isn't the issue).

Yeah. Watch some YouTube videos. Swype, you basically trace the word on the keyboard. Swift is a more traditional keyboard, but aggressively guesses your intent after learning your typing patterns. It looks pretty neat.

I might try Swift. Swype, um, no thanks.

Just don't see how tracing the word is any faster. Maybe with one thumb typing..

It doesn't look like it. And it seems like after you use quick reply, the keyboard changes back to the default and you have to reselect Swype. Not a huge deal, just annoying.

Something definitely wrong with the keyboard. After adding and setting up no keyboard appears on any app just a large blank box.

FYI - I am on the GM build not the release today. May have something to do with it even though thespy have the same build number.

Swiftkey Flow is the same as swype, you can trace the words out. It's user preference which they think is better at swiping. Though generally it looks like swiftkey is better at tap typing and predictions.

I am having the same problem that a lot of y'all here seem to be having. I just get a blank box, and now I don't even get a keyboard at all in any apps until I uninstall Swype. Deleted for now.

Yeah. Super stupid. I wonder is if that's just how these keyboards are going to work for now or if Swype is bugged. If it's the former I'm not going to bother with new keyboards

YES! First app going on my iPad. I would upgrade my iPhone to 8 but I promised the new owner I would leave it on 7.1.2 so no Swype on my iPhone until Friday! (That means bigger screen for more swyping!)
