I find it interesting that some people on this plan in this thread are being charged data-wise for music streaming.

I've only recently signed up for this plan (my first month ends on the 29th) and have been utilizing the hell out of Spotify and Apple Music, and with all my music streaming, video watching and web browsing, I'm only at 2.5GB usage! I should've been way over that if they were counting the music streaming.

On the 29th, I'm going to reset my cellular usage stats and carefully monitor and compare to what T-Mobile states I'm using. I unfortunately restored my device a few weeks ago, so I don't have any accurate stats right now.

Music Freedom was one of the main reasons I signed up for this plan and so far, for me, it definitely appears to be paying off.

So i just ported my number to this plan. somehow i am not getting LTE on my iPhone 6s plus. it only shows 4G. where as i have AT&T model which has Band 12 as well. can anyone tell me where i am going wrong?
 
I've had this plan for some time. I use it as a back up/emergency line for an older phone. I also like that I can stream radio and music without burning through my Verizon line minutes.

I have this plan and am pretty happy with it. I get everything I need.

I listen to music a lot and this plan includes the music freedom.

Yes, always keep some cash in account though just in case, the phone call from other party (could be important) will not come through.

I find in the Boston area I still drop to 4g much more often than expected (I moved here three years ago and never saw 4g with ATT). Conversely, when we visited SoCal it was a strong LTE signal everywhere.

I say this all because I'm wondering if you're simply not in an LTE area. Forget about maps and whatnot. They're incredibly unreliable IME. Do you have a phone or know anyone getting LTE where you are not?

Well if my iPhone was not switching between 4G and LTE while I lay in bed then I could understand I am not in LTE area.

I am confused. You said you weren;t getting an LTE signal. Now you say you are, but it's going away? Unfortunately at home I am in a bad reception area. I can literally go from Edge to 4g to LTE within my house. While laying in bed it is usually LTE but sometimes 4G. I don't think it's a fauly witht he phone or plan. I think it's just the network in your area.

Well after posting in this thread it started switching to LTE and then to 4G. Yeah I think it's the network in my area. Their coverage map shows it has good coverage.

Same where I live. :(
Literally in a pocket where data is bad. It's liveable since I have wifi at home and it's completely better when I leave home. Interestingly enough it's only really bad at home. No complaints elsewhere, which is largely why I am willing to deal. Calls work fine at home too, and so I have what I need.

yeah.i am in the same situation. lets hope for a fix in the future. lol
 
can anyone confirm this plan allows the use of wifi calling on a iphone 6s?
Yup. It works great And as stated above, it obviously counts against your minutes. The up side is additional minutes only cost 10 cents a minute for any over the initial 100.
 
till yet my wife is pretty happy with this plan. according to her the data is fast as well!
 
I have noticed lately that Music Freedom and BingeOn DO seem to work on this account now! I have heard conflicting info about this, BUT I have tested it myself and I AM getting both. I can also report that they will NOT give you the LTE booster or Cell spot with this plan which they give free (with 25 dollar deposit) to Simple Choice post paid customers.

I do the same thing. People get hung up on the 100minutes a month thing but either forget or don't realize that extra minutes are only 10 cents each. That means for $30 a month, you get 100 minutes, but if you use 125 minutes that month, it'll end up costing you $32.50. The best part is you never pay for more than you use really.

I have my account set to auto-charge me $30 a month, but I keep approximately $10 extra in my account. I rarely ever need it, but now and then I'll have an extra few minutes here and there, and it's covered.

I do get binge on offer under my account plan. But I can't see any music freedom there. Is it switched on by default or what?

I had the $30/5GB plan for 2 years, but switched to the unlimited post-paid plan 2 days before its price went up with the Binge On introduction.

I find that my download speed has increased with the unlimited plan. 40 Mbps on the $30 vs 50 Mbps on the unlimited. No way to verify why this occurred, although I had a T-Mobile rep. tell me that the towers give post-paid plans priority over prepaid. This is in the far southern suburbs of the Minneapolis/St Paul area using an iPhone 6 Plus.

Neither Spotify nor Apple Music streaming ever counted against my data usage when on the $30 prepaid. I never had to do anything on the account page to enable Music Freedom.

I tried WiFi calling to verify that it worked, but never used it again as it would still count against my 100 minutes. Instead I used Skype and Skype for Business for work related 800-number calls over LTE that counted against the 5GB data limit but otherwise free. Skype calls were of much better quality over T-Mobile LTE than over my cable company provided internet. And almost, if not as good as voice calls.

It's not the same, when people pay for unlimited access to something, they pay for a peace of mind. They no longer have to worry about their usage anymore.

Of course it's not the same. People who need unlimited minutes shouldn't even be looking at a plan like this. This is for light to moderate talkers. I was just pointing out that you aren't limited to 100 minutes, and can use more for an extra 10 cents a minute. For someone like myself, it's perfect. 10 out of 12 months I use less than 100 minutes a month. When I go over, it's usually only another 10-20 minutes over, which is an extra dollar or two that month.

Just coincidence. I got 110Mbps down on the $30 plan.
