How are you getting the $30/month plan with 5GB data? I went to Wally World tonight and they only have a $45/month plan with 5GB data. The $30 a month plan gives me 100MB of data.

Get a new sim from T-Mobile. Activate it on T-Mobile website and port in your number there and then. Select this plan and you are good to go.

You wouldn't be pulling those speeds on band 12, but it's possible more people are using band 12 which means less on band 4.

Manchester, NH

so you are trying to say that band 12 should have more speed?

If I am currently with T-Mobile but want to get the $30 plan through Wal-Mart how does that work? Do I have to pay off my EIP first?

Actually, I never went through Walmart. I think you can also get on it by going online, but I actually managed to sign up via a phone call to customer service. Does the plan show up if you go to your account online and click on the "Change plan or services" link? Look carefully, towards the bottom of the page.

Can my number be ported to the T-Mobile prepaid plan?

Yes, it can.

If I switch to Sprint though, will I be able to use that phone with the T-Mobile prepaid plan after I pay off the EIP? And do you know if the prepaid plan will work outside the US?

yeah i assume phone is factory unlocked. it can be used with any carrier. and sorry i have no idea about the prepaid plan outside US!

Nope. After using 5GB high speed data you will be throttled. Tmobile does the same thing.
