T-Mobile’s former CEO, John Legere, is somewhat like Steve Jobs in that he prioritizes customers, whereas the two CEOs that succeeded Legere, first Mike Sievert and now Srini Goplan, are somewhat like Tim Cook in that they prioritize maximizing profits.
I wondered how you'd make this about Tim Cook 🤣 That guy lives in your head rent-free!

I find US carrier costs crazy… appreciate we’re far more densely populated but in the UK most people are paying the equivalent of $15/month for 50GB data. I’m currently on $9 for 100!
Yep, this comes up every time any US carrier plan is mentioned. Every time, some people from Europe (often quite a few) rush to tell us how much better their plans are. Every time. We get it. Your phone plans are better.

I think most Europeans have no concept of just how extremely ginormous (and in some areas, sparse) the US is. It takes an awful lot of towers in relatively unpopulated areas to cover it all, towers which still cost a lot even if they're not getting much traffic. And yeah, the industry needs more regulation and more actual competition. But, we get it: your phone plans are better.

US Mobile is the BEST Phone Carrier in America at the moment.
I recently switched:
I paid $14 a month for UNLIMITED EVERYTHING including hotspot. I can choose ATT / Verizon / TMobile as the backer or have it auto switch depending on carrier that is stronger in the situation (for a few dollars extra). I brought my whole family over and its been the best service I have ever used. Both in terms of network quality and ease of setup.

Took me all of 5 minutes to switch over. I will never use another service again. Been nothing short of a 10/10

I got the text this morning. We’ve had two lines for $100 unlimited everything for probably 15? Years. It is what it is at this point. Everything getting more expensive.
Me too... I just don't have the fight in this dog anymore.. Getting old and resigned.

I’m probs gonna check this out then. Might be time to move.

Got the same notification this morning. We were already thinking of switching away, and this is just the reason we'll be doing so. Did some quick research and found US Mobile to be a good alternative. Other family members are on Mint Mobile, and they say it's a good carrier, too.

I have a 9 year old Verizon plan that I am happy with. When I tried to trade in my phone last winter via a Verizon trade in, they were going to force me onto a new plan that would force me to pay $10 extra to keep my wireless hotspot for my phone that I currently don’t pay extra for, I refused. I bought a new unlocked phone and was able to stay on my legacy plan. If Verizon tries to change my plan without my consent, I will tell them to **** themselves and they will lose a 22-year customer. I will switch to one of the discount carriers. That is why I bought an unlocked phone. I want to keep my options open. I am not going to be abused by any carrier.

That has been my experience as well. I created a shortcut for my Action Button whereby one press and I am automatically switched to the DeathStar if the cell service gets weak with Verizon.

What’s the catch? Seems like one of those too good to be true
It is definitely not too good to be true. You can switch plans and or carriers any time you want, which can be done from the customer portal. Watch plans are $6.50 / month whether the pan is paired with phone or a true separate watch plan.

I have 3 phone lines and 2 watch plans and I pay $60/ month. I forgot to mention my unlimited iPad plan cost me $22, (I paid 1 year up front to get a cheaper rate) which I make use of every day.
