I ordered 6+ / 128GB / Gold through a store as a new business customer porting from AT&T ...

You: Hello, I would like to check what the expected delivery date is for my phone. Online tracking just shows “Backordered” with no date.
[Removed tmo rep name]:*Thankyou.
[Removed tmo rep name]:*I'll just be a moment..
[Removed tmo rep name]:*It is still pending.
[Removed tmo rep name]:*9-19-2014 is when your phone will be shipped.
[Removed tmo rep name]:*The Gold's are not on back order.
You:*wow that is very surprising
You:*so even if i ordered another 6+ / 128GB / Gold today, it would ship in the preorder?
[Removed tmo rep name]:*It should. I am not sure how many are left. But it is showing that the Gold is not on backorder.
You: What about other colors?
[Removed tmo rep name]:*Other colors are not showing. Were you looking to upgrade another device?

Does this sound even remotely plausible, or was she just trying to make me happy and disconnect?

I'm confused. I've been a T-Mobile prepaid customer for a while, and decided to get a plan with the iPhone 6 Plus. I don't have any credit, and thought I would give this a try. Looks like everything went by smoothly until I received an email from my bank saying there has been some unusual activity. I've been in Mexico since June, and just confirmed it was me. I did the electronic sign, and got an order number. I checked the status with a phone call, and it says that order number doesn't exist. I checked online, and I've been charged already. I haven't received an email though. Should I just wait since it's new to see if I receive an email with the order number?

I had this issue before. What I did was email John Legere with the details and he forwarded it off to the proper channels.

What seems to happen is that the card rejects the transaction as being fraud, and then you approve it, but T-Mobile has to resubmit the charge, which they evidently cannot or do not do.

What happened for me was that they said my original order could not be processed (placed 9/12 at 4 AM as the site went live) and so the rep who called me said that he would create a duplicate of my order and place it for me. Sure enough, he did that, and today I called in and checked the order status on the phone, and it says that it's set for delivery on the 19th as my original should have been.

For my inconvenience, they've also credited me for a month of service and upgraded me to overnight shipping for free.

I am trying to think of something good to complain about to see if they will upgrade my shipping as well, not for free but at least to a faster method then ground.

When did you order that? Sounds plausible according to what they told me at least. They said "most" Friday orders were going to be shipped out on the 18th. Though, I have no idea of the cutoff time for "most." Maybe "most" means Silver and Gold models.

Tl;Dr = The order was placed at 9:30PM on saturday 9/13 after a lot of stress.

I tried to order at 3:01 am but ran into the well documented issues. I then tried to use the website at 8AM which ran into an error and blocked my SSN for 62 days (as explained by a phone rep after being on hold for a a couple of hours). I went to a store and they figured that they could open it up as a business account since I am a business owner, which would unblock the SSN restriction -- but then they ran into a problem with the ordering system having errors, and they were only able to place the order finally at 9:30pm on Saturday, nearly 24 hours after I started trying to buy the phone.

But anyway -- they are saying that they are still not sold out of Gold 6+'s which I find very surprising.

Is this phone like the 5s where the Verizon version works on all carriers? Or basically does any of the other carriers phone work on T-Mobile ? I'd rather just buy it from somewhere else because T-Mobile obviously has no clue what they're doing.

Crap, really wish I had splurged on the Saturday delivery. I tried calling to change it, but they said the only way to change the delivery was to cancel and re-submit my order. Yeah, I'm not going to do that...

lol that's a understatement.

I agree with you and I am in the same boat.

Oh my. Well, seeing as that is the most expensive model and the gold phone (can't remember where I read it) was the last iPhone to have availability on Apple and the other carriers, that might be correct. Or, maybe T-Mo just got their hands on the gold shipment.

Here's hoping for Friday deliveries all around! :D

To forget the fact that I don't have a tracking number yet, what cases is everyone getting?

I pre-ordered 3 iPhone 6+ and according to the rep, they're saying I'll get it latest by the following Tuesday. They're unsure if I could get it by Friday or Monday, but they're more confident about Tuesday. We'll see... I still need a case

i Chatted to the third t-mobile rep (2 phone calls earlier) and this one said that my order (64 GB iPhone 6 - Silver) is on backorder (as most of us are) and will ship within 4-6 weeks from the date of pre order (5PM 12th of September). This is totally opposite to what the first two reps had to say which was that my order should ship out and arrive to my by the 19th of this month i.e. launch day. Don't know who to believe but i guess there is no other option but to wait for a couple of days to see where it goes. As of this moment, I have not been charged on my credit card (for any amount).

This is a disaster. I ordered my phone at 3:20 PM pacific time on Friday. I've talked to a few T-Mobile customer service reps trying to figure out what the heck is going on. I'm posted excerpts of the important info below.

9/14
8:43:20 PM

DarrenR: Do not worry, we will send you an email once the order has shipped as well as your tracking number to see the estimated delivery date.

You: SO my phone will be sent out in the first batch of phones, with those who ordered on friday as well?

DarrenR: You are correct!

9/14
9:12:26 PM

You: From what I;m gathering talking to Customer service representative, Friday orders are fist come, first serve, orders made f'rom Saturday-Sunday, priority will be given to JUMP! customers. Is that right?

Charles J: The informations you have gathered is correct Matthew. JUMP order will be prioritized for shipping but all other orders like regular upgrade and for new customer's it will be a first come first serve basis.

Charles J: This is just for Sept 12 to 14th.

Charles J: JUMP upgrade after this date will be included on first come, first serve basis.

You: So, does that mean that JUMP customers who ordered Saturday will be ahead of me, when I ordered Friday? I did not use JUMP, as I am a new customer

Charles J: I sincerely apologize but that's how the process goes as our long time customer's who is doing JUMP upgrade is prioritized.

You: So since I ordered mine on Friday, will it be included in the first batch of phones to ship out?

Charles J: Yes, it still be included.

You: I paid for overnight shipping, but still do not have an estimated shipping date. If I ordered on Friday, and my phone is in the first batch, will it arrive on the 19th for launch day?

Charles J: The phone will be launched on September 19th. If your order is processed has been processed that day and you requested for overnight shipping, you will receive the package the next day which is on September 20.

Charles J: The priority line may change since JUMP upgrade will be prioritized.

Are they really only getting 16gb's? i was thinking on going early friday to a t mobile store here in my city, i was looking for 64gb's. I was just going to call and cancel my order if i found them.[/QUOT

The T-Mobile store only carries 16gb phones. You can get a 64gb phone, but you have to order from T-Mobile.

Wondering this too. Is this the first iPhone pre-order launch that T-Mobile has has the iPhone for? I know they had it last year, but there was no pre-order period for the 5s. They didn't have the 5, right? I wonder if its a symptom of ATT and VZ having a few pre-order launches under the belt for Apple. Its a massive undertaking, something that I am sure dwarfs the pre-orders of any other device.

Keep in mind that sprint and Verizon iphones are different from AT&T and t mobile . Sprint and verizon are CDMA models and AT&T and T mobile are gsm models. Apple probably has so many of each model to distribute to each specific carrier

I got a Spiegen off of Amazon, but I'm thinking of ordering an Otterbox. I hate how bulky they make my phone, but I've got a 1 year old and don't really want to have to pay the $175 deductible on the Jump insurance if I don't have to.

I will probably order an otterbox commuter series for my 6 plus

I just ordered a spiegen case, going to be here Friday-Monday. I usually always end up taking cases off anyway, so I'll see how long this last.

I never liked otter cases, however, the phone is so thin that it shouldn't make it that bulky

I also ordered a spigen case off amazon. I like the added lip around the screen. In my experience having a case can help with those unforeseen drops along the way. But id prefer the look if it were caseless for sure.
