Your phone has to be paid off to be eligible as a trade in.

I wonder how this would work for me... I switched to tmo earlier this year and brought my own device. I pre-ordered a 6s and the rep didn't put it on JoD as I requested. Instead it's just a regular 24-month EIP. Does anyone think I can take advantage of this new deal??

ETA: current device is a 5s (verizon; fully paid)

Signal was just fine for LTE in most areas, including Walmart's and Costco's. There was this one spot (might be fixed now, but it was problematic for several months) at the top of a large hill on the north side where calls on HSPA would always drop at the same exact spot. If my indecisive iPhone decided to stay on LTE, the call would stay. Forcing EDGE didn't have any issues there. HSPA signal when it dropped was fine, but it would just drop out, though sometimes the call would cut out for a moment, then come back. Just a weird spot I guess.

Thanks for the additional info. I appreciate it! Is that large hill area you mention in the vicinity of North Star Mall? Just trying to find a reference point without being too specific. Sounds like a real problematic area!

No, it's going up the hill on Canyon Golf Rd. before Wilderness Oak.

I'm assuming T-Mobile won't pay you for the value of your iPhone 6 to get the $5 a month. Aka that's a loss of around $500. And the savings from $28/month to $5/month are not enough to justify not selling my iPhone independently.

There's no real "savings" though it does offer a great incentive to stay on jump and keep jumping if they keep you on that lease deal. All you save at the end of it all is the same $126 bill credit after 18 months if you keep your device. Though you do get a nice way to spend as little as possible off the bat.

I paid $14.99 for expedited, and mine is shipping Ground. They credited me the $14.99 this morning and said "oops, sorry."
don't lose hope. just recently ordered my mom an iPhone 5C online, paid the $6.99 ground shipping, got it in 2 business days bc it got expedited.

That's what I'm saying. Sucks for the people who just used their jump to find out this is available. I know to go from jump to jod they give you credit for your phone and only owe the difference. Would be nice if this new plan was the same.

Sure they do. I got our 64GB 6 and 6+ in store.

Milage my vary then. No stores in my tri-state area carry them. Maybe more "trafficked" states like California, New York, Florida, and Texas. T-Mobile stores do not really carry over 16GB in stores. 80% of people come in for the lowest model and keep it moving.

He said to bring your phone into a Tmo store and they will adjust the payments.

I'm gonna do it maybe Sunday when the lines have died down. It doesn't matter that I could sell the phone for more. I have to turn it in anyway according to what the reps told me for JOD.

yes exactly i wish it was too when i talked to ERT yesterday he explained it much better then the normal t-mobile reps either way its best to stick what we have just for the one reason alone.

You'll have to turn in your iPhone 6s for the next trade in. What do you have now? Are you a new customer?

OK for those that were following along with the situation with my order (and another couple of posters who had the same situation) I now understand what went wrong.
To recap I joined TMO on 8/5 on the AMPED JOD with the iPhone 6 promo. I got a 6+ 64GB at that time and paid my 99.99 memory upgrade charge. I ordered my 6s+ 64GB on 9/12 at 12:30 PDT and was told that it was a zero dollar upgrade. The EIP came and it had a $430 charge on it. I had been told by 3 reps that day my order was for zero dollars so frankly I did not even look at the price part of the EIP (BIG mistake). On Sunday they did in fact charge my CC for the $430 +Tax.

Today I decided it was time to get into this and get this mistake fixed. Turns out there was a whole set of things that had been done wrong on my account and that lead to this charge. I'll share so as to provide info to possibly help someone else.

1) When I opened the account the rep gave me a phone # and used it to open the account. This is the # he tagged the original EIP to. He then immediately ported my existing Phone # to the account leaving the EIP on a # that I no longer have.

2) That caused problems with the order of the 6S. All JOD's have a fixed amount of device credit assigned to them and because the existing phone was on the wrong # the system did not prompt them to start the return process for my current 6+ (which would then release it's amount on the credit line). Because of this there was not enough open credit available (no one has enough per line to have 2 iPhones) and the extra ($ 430 in this case) got billed to be paid in advance.

3) None of the reps I have talked with since the 12th noticed this or noticed that I was going to be billed this amount.

I was fortunate tonight to get to talk with a person in a very high problem resolution team and we reached an agreement:

1. He bill credited me 1/2 of the charge ($215) to make up for T Mobiles mistakes.
2. He is leaving my $12 bill credit from the Amped JOD promotion in place.
3. With the $430 down and the monthly credit, this means my phone payment will be 41 cents! He is leaving it like that.

This service is in my opinion what makes T Mobile special. They make mistakes- lots of them as we are seeing this week- but unlike others, they care. It you take the time to call and express your situation then they ACT.
All of this was stressful, but I can say that I am happy with the resolution and even though I started our call unhappy with T Mobile , I finished full satisfied.

The idiots shipped one of my 2 JOD phones to a previous address, I got a month's worth of free service out of them for the screw up, but I just faxed shipping labels to get the doggone thing to me someday :(

Update on the cost after talking with rep :) It seems those who are on Jump on Demand are getting $7 off their lease payments on their phones for 18 months

And that's fine--I already know I want the 7. :) I generally do not keep my phone.

I am 4 months new to T-Mo on jump. Have the 6.
