I bought the iPhone 6rg 64gb through jump on demand but I am not sure if the purchase option is right. I am paying $600 including the $100 down for a span of 18 months but if I want to purchase the phone it says I need to pay additional $182 which doesn't include taxes. So is the purchase option too costly? Since the phone price shoots up to $800 or more (because of taxes) if I am purchasing. But the phone is worth only $750

I ordered on the 16th and still no tracking number or anything. All I have is order being processed and expected to ship by the 24th. This is for a 6s 64GB RG

I think you might have some facts wrong.

Leasing in the case of the iPhone 6s on JOD means you receive a $7 credit off your bill and a Payoff at the end that equals a $126 discount after 18 months of paying your lease (you still have to pay the full tax on the device though). While financing for 24 months has zero credits and you end up paying the full retail cost of the device including tax.

Everyone who leased under JOD is getting "Free Overnight Shipping" per your my.tmobile website, look it up yourself. On UPS' website it's listed my type of delivery as "Next Day Saver", which is essentially over night. This is not the same as expedited shipping.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear, as I was comparing a traditional 24-month EIP versus a traditional 18-month lease with payoff. Yes, in the case of the previous Amped JOD and the current JOD, we are all getting a discount this round. I was only trying to diffuse previous arguments that leasing in general wasn't worth it, and financing was the way to go.

I just checked the status of my order and it is showing this:

Item: Apple iPhone 6s - Space Gray - 128GB
Status: Your device is reserved in our warehouse. Item will not ship until all items in your order are available. Please call 1-800-937-8997 if you would like for the items in your order to ship separately

I had that happen to me last year when I ordered two phones. they told

Item: Apple iPhone 6s - Gold - 128GB
Status: Expected to ship by 09/24/2015

I called and they said that my order is partially backordered. They can't split the shipment without cancelling and creating a new order. I thought they had plenty of stock of the 6s gold in all sizes so one can only wonder what the hold up is. Anyone else's order look like this?

I had that happened to me last year when I ordered a 6 and a 6 plus from T-mobile. The 6 plus was backordered and they told me they couldn't split the shipment, but I received my 6 on release date and 6 plus a week later. Two different shipments on the same order.

FYI to all worried about shipping speed:

Pre-order iPhones are tagged when they ship from China, so, if they charged your card or status is shipped, you're good to go. Pre-orders are supposed to arrive on the 25th, whomever you order them from will do whatever shipping method it takes to get it to you on the 25th. That may mean it is on it's way to the US, or in the US from China already, but, on it's way to a warehouse or shipping center, from which it will be overnighted on the 24th so that you get it on the 25th. It's also possible some shipping companies already have iPhones ready to ship and will ground ship them part or all the way as long as it makes it on the 25th.

Every cell phone I've had shipped to me was overnighted for free, it's standard practice.

Are UPS Customer Center the same as a distribution center? And will it change the pickup/delivery date if I choose to hold it for pick up?
Debating whether I should hold for pickup and get it in the AM or just get it delivered in the PM

If you paid for "overnight" shipping, you should probably get your money back, since T-Mobile is supposed to be sending every pre-order via overnight shipping (UPS Next Day Air Saver).

I was visiting in May. I had my 6+ and a T-Mobile LG G4. The G4 connected to band 12 fairly often, but it wasn't much stronger indoors than LTE. HSPA+ and of course EDGE were both noticeably stronger than band 12 LTE, so I'm not convinced by it being so amazing just yet. Band 12 was in the city for a number of months before, so I figured everything should've been better tuned. FWIW, I wasn't checking too often, so band 12 may work better in other places.

Not true the only free overnight promised is for jump on demand customers not the traditional payment Plans.

It should tell you on UPS my choice when it is available for pick up before you confirm it. But yes, customer center are the same the ups hubs(distribution center). I believe they are usually available for pick up once they open which is 8am in my city.

Ok finally got my tracking number! UPS says they can't locate the shipment details for it but I'm sure it'll update. I ordered the RG s 16gb on 9/12 at 6 pm.

i got a tracking number yesterday for overnight delivery. so is it gonan arrive today or tomorrow? or on friday?

Thanks for the info BeSweet. So would you say the Tmobile signal in San Antonio was reliable in general? Do you recall any experiences with call drops, no signal/service at all, etc.?

Interesting about the band 12 experience you described. I may have to lower my hopes and expectations about it... It is the main reason I bought the 6s though... Tmo is pretty good where I live but I know of a few spots in town (and especially inside one of the Walmarts!) where signal just goes to almost nothing. I'll be testing my 6s in those areas for sure!

  • 4/ How does getting the new #iPhone6s for as little as $5/month or $10/month sound on @tmobile w/ #JUMPonDemand?! OK - DONE!
  • 5/ On Friday, you can get the new #iPhone6s at @tmobile w/ #JUMPonDemand for $5, $10 or $15/month - depending on model and trade-in #BOOM
  • 6/ YES – you read it right! Trade-in an iPhone6 & get a new #iPhone6s for $5/mth or trade-in your iPhone5s & get a new one for $10/mth!

Signal was just fine for LTE in most areas, including Walmart's and Costco's. There was this one spot (might be fixed now, but it was problematic for several months) at the top of a large hill on the north side where calls on HSPA would always drop at the same exact spot. If my indecisive iPhone decided to stay on LTE, the call would stay. Forcing EDGE didn't have any issues there. HSPA signal when it dropped was fine, but it would just drop out, though sometimes the call would cut out for a moment, then come back. Just a weird spot I guess.

Again has anyone's status changed from oct 2-Oct 16 to shipped or got a tracking number. I'm still so confused on even though they said they have problems why are some ppl here getting tracking for multiple orders and for the rose gold 16g 6s plus. Please up my spirits someone. Ugh
