I had a similar situation. Called at 3AM and only got "confirmation numbers" and was promised I'd get a call in 1-2 days, but because of the "free memory upgrade variant" and hearing others were actually giving credit card information and getting actual order numbers, I didn't want to jeopardize not having an actual preorder if the promotion was only available until Sunday night.
So, after I naturally woke up late that Saturday, I called back to check on these "confirmation numbers" only to find out that no one else at Customer Care could locate or reference them. Upset, I made sure that I was getting my preorders placed right then and there, but they continued to have system glitches. I spent most of Saturday and half of Sunday on the phone, back and forth with managers at the Solution Center, who finally told me that those confirmation numbers where "draft orders" that just needed to be completed, I still have my original place in the queue, that I still have the highest priority as an early preorderer and as a JUMP! on Demand customer, and most importantly, that my monthly payments will not increase from the Amped JUMP! on Demand promotional pricing of $15 and $19/month that I got when JUMPed to the 6/6 Plus before Labor Day.
By the end of the night, one went through (EIP signed, order number received), but four still remained "unable to place order."
It was only until Tuesday that I got the remaining preorders through, and just yesterday, I got status updates that my
Silver 128GB iPhone 6s+ and two
Silver 128GB iPhone 6s will ship by 9/24, but the
Rose Gold 128GB iPhone 6s+ is still awaiting confirmation from Apple, so I guess they kept their word regarding priority.
Seeing the
Estimated Shipping Updates page showing that the
Rose Gold 128GB iPhone 6s+ is only "2-4 weeks" and not "Early November" like the other memory variants, I'm convinced I'll still get it by 9/24, or worst-case scenario, maybe 2 weeks after that.
