Does anyone know if they added user based notifications? It's in the official Twitter App! Pleast TweetBot, make this happen!

I bought it but had a couple questions. Is there any way to toggle mobilizer on or off? What gestures are you talking about? And all the white is going to tax your battery. The icon is fugly too!

I wish apps didn't charge for an update. I understand games charging for an update, but apps like this? Alien Blue, a reddit app, was a one time buy. It is fully supported by a great dev. I wish more companies did that.

How much was that coffee you bought this morning? More or less than $3? Do you get to drink it 20 times a day for months? This app gives you that for $3.

Perspective.

Seriously though. This is the gold standard that every "made for iOS7" app will be held against from now on. Incredibly responsive for something so feature rich. Deleted Twitteriffic minutes after getting this. Well worth the wait AND the money.

To be fair tapbot has tried to milk money from customers. The separate iPhone & iPad versions and the $20 osx version. They could have thrown a bone to customers and at least made the iOS version universal.

The app doesn't show the number of unread tweets at the top of the timeline. Any way to turn this on?

It's smaller in the top left corner. Looks like a little tab. It's still there.

That's up to Twitter. They haven't released the API for that feature to third party devs.

For apps I literally have had running 24/7 over the last 2 years I am happy to throw them any money they want. Developing apps is hard. Developing GREAT apps is even harder. I have no problems supporting that continued development when it delivers like TB3 has.

They love milking the paid model, which is working against them as many devs switch to free w/IAP or lite and paid versions and manage to get more monetization of their apps. Even Apple is playing the free/IAP card with their apps (i.e. Garageband). From a user standpoint, I personally prefer allowing the user to try an app with restricted features than forcing them to pay.

Luckily for them, they have loyal customers.

The white is just too much. If they made a dark theme an in app purchase I bet they'd make a killing.

I did too. I liked Twitteriffic alright, but this is SO MUCH better. I do have one wish: full screen capability. Or at least hide the bottom bar when scrolling. But I love it, regardless.

I must be blind. Where is it? Top left corner under the timeline bar?

Read the article before bitching about the paid upgrade. It's the same reason that the OS X app is expensive - Twitter impose stupidly strict limits on how many users third party clients can have. If the app was free, that limit would be hit very quickly indeed.

Twitter should be the recipient of your ire, not Tapbots.

I agree with you to some degree, but on the other hand, if they released this as an update for the existing app rather than a separate app, it would only go to their existing paid users and would not make them hit their user cap any more quickly.

Don't get me wrong. I love Tweetbot. I gladly overpaid for the OSX version. Being able to easily switch between multiple accounts that I run is priceless. But it's also the only app in my library (free or paid) that has had the stones to charge for an iOS 7 update.

Huh! I didn't even know about that. Still, I'd rather be able to set it independently of the rest of the system.

Totally agree - seems a few people have this complaint. Hopefully it's added back as an app-specific option with enough requests from users.

After reading this thread and decided to take the plunge and buy it, and on first impressions it's looking nice! I used to use Tweetbot as my go-to app for twitter, but have been using Twitterific for the most part of this year.

One thing that I've never understood though is why do people moan SO much? I think the OS X version is a little too expensive and haven't bought that, but why can't people spend an extra couple dollars or pounds here and there to buy an app (update or not) when your gorgeous device that you're using cost whatever amount! It's these guys jobs developing these apps and just think how often you use it - £1.99 is nothing, and I know it's on sale at the moment, but no-one can say any less than at this current price, it's a bargain.

So much complaining over THREE DOLLARS. I spend more than that every day on things I get far less usage out of than a Twitter client. Tapbots does good work, they have bills to pay, so I am happy to support their efforts.

I'll try a "cracked" version before deciding to pay for it again. When devs force you to pay twice for the same app (aka the older version is still functional), you gotta wonder if the upgrade is really that worth it. That being said, it probably is, but I'm not paying head-first. I've been with echofon for a while now and if tweetbot 3 fails to convince me (unlikely), I'll just stay on that.

And I'll break into an apple store at midnight and steal an iPad air just to "play around with". Don't worry though, I'll return it.

And for those complaining about three dollars, that's LESS than a cup of coffee. You'll likely use this app everyday!

I used to love Tapbots, I think I have purchased all of their apps. But many of them are now abandoned (for example, Calcbot STILL has no 4" sreen support). The same story with other apps. Ridiculous.

We haven’t abandoned our older apps, but we have to make tough decisions that keep our business running. We already have many great ideas for the updates to our older apps and are just waiting for the right time to implement.
