because it’s still being tested the developers beta version third seed of watch os 6.1 was released two days agoPlease explain how you know that.
How does that mean they’re not in a hurry? The post I replied to suggests they don’t care. It was a silly comment.because it’s still being tested the developers beta version third seed of watch os 6.1 was released two days ago
Don’t rush it. Make sure it works. Who wants a 6.1.1 within a week? When is the 6.1 update being released? You would think Apple would rush it as many are impacted with battery life issues
I’m thinking the Apple podcast app really was the reason for my messed up battery
Might be a 13.1.2 issue
How did you fix the podcast app issue?
My s5 was fine until I removed the beta profile from my phone and then had to re-pair the watch. Now my 44mm is at 20% after 12 hours light use. My wife has the 40mm s5 and e we have spent the day together using our watches a similar amount, she is at 67%!Am I the only one with terrible battery life since this update? I have the decible meter on as well as as the hourly ho ur notifications. Apple said this uses hardly any battery but I got up at 5 am with a full charge and now I’m at 9%
S5 is my first Apple Watch. From the beginning, I have always gotten the advertised 18 hour battery life. However, I developed a serious case of battery envy/anxiety due to reading posts from people who had owned Series 3/Series 4 watches that had gotten 2 days out of them.
I wish for 6.1 to drop so I can experience this mythical 2 day battery life!

So does your sarcastic tone make it any less true? My series 2 used to use about 35% of its battery in a day and I would charge it every 2 days. The series 5 has around 30% left as I put it in charge from 1 days use. Hardly mythical.S5 is my first Apple Watch. From the beginning, I have always gotten the advertised 18 hour battery life. I don't disbelieve people got 2 days; I was joking around.
Goes to show how inconsistent these devices can be I suppose.Wow ... never got 2 days out of my series 4
Depends how people use their devicesGoes to show how inconsistent these devices can be I suppose.
Haven’t noticed a big difference to be fairDoes the always-on feature of Apple Watch 5 make its battery life worst?

Exactly, when I heard during the presentation the words: always on display my reaction was "Oooh". I had initially had no plans to upgrade my S4 but when I heard those words I knew I would upgrade. Now, that I upgraded and have AOD, I don't think it does much of anything. It is so dim most of the time that I have to flick my wrist anyway. Apple needs to do something with upgrading the battery. There should probably be 3 options with the AOD : AOD (all the time like a regular watch- at brightness of choosing), AOD with dimming for more privacy, and AOD off for those that dont like it or want to preserve battery. On my series 4, with normal use, and a daily 40-50 minutes workout (either elliptical or an outdoor walk), I would end the day around 60-70% of battery. On my series 5, same routine, I'm down to around 30-40%. So yes, AOD does make a difference. Is it a concern? Probably not since I put my watch on a charger when I go to bed.
What does worry me somewhat is constantly draining the battery down to that 30-40% level every day. In the long run, it will impact the long term life of the battery with these deeper cycles of discharge and recharging. Is that a concern? For me probably not again as I'll upgrade to a series 6 or 7 or something, long before I have to worry about long term battery issues...
After having my S5 for a few weeks, I've actually turned off AOD. Not because of battery life, but honestly, it doesn't really do anything for me. Never had a time where I needed to discreetly look at my watch for the time...Even when I do, you still have to bring your wrist up somewhat to see it, and by then, the normal display kicks in anyways.
My S5, for the last week, with a workout a day of 60-90 minutes was averaging a lost of 5%-6% a hour- AOD on, raise to wake on, refresh off, noise off, medium brightness. Yesterday, I unpaired and paired again including a hard reset. I did a short workout, (20mins) and today at 12:30 pm I was still at 47% after 18 hrs of standby including 2.5 hrs of usage, with very light notifications. Will see if the better battery life continues after a longer workout. Just FYI, my S4 has never lasted me 2 full days, maximum was probably 24hrs with 20-25% left before being put back on the charger. My S5 battery life was fine. It had a cosmetic problem though so Apple sent me a new watch. For some strange reason, I couldn't see the back up from unpairing my first S5, so I set up from new for the replacement. During the first day, the battery life dropped like a stone at 5% an hour. Second day, it improved to between 2% and 3 % an hour but hasn't really gone through a full charge cycle. - AOD on, Noise off, Walkie talkie off. Brightness at max. Will monitor over the working week and see how it performs.
