My phone was draining faster than usual too. Last night I ran the battery all the way down and charged it overnight. I took it off the charger at 10:30 am and it's still at 98% with light usage. It seems back to normal but I'll have to use it more to be sure.

It's starting to look like that's the culprit for both my phones. Been messing around with it some more and I only now have a few games and Cydia installed and so far no drainage. Going to put on ultrasn0w on one of them to see if I can confirm that is the problem on my phone.

I've restored and installed all apps(lockinfo, 5 column dock n sb, winterboard and MIM) except ultrasn0w and sbsettings and my battery is back to normal now. So it's either one of those or both that are the culprit!?

I think SBSettings is the culprit since i dont have ultrasnow installed and the battery is being drained quicker than usual.

Ive been restored for a little while now and i can already see the difference. I sm back to where i should be. Charged to 100% left it for a few hours and it'd still at 100%

I used pkgbckup and restored my phone from backup so my phone is basically exactly as it was beforee. For me, anyways, this was not an application issue.

Pkgbackup is new to me, is it similar to AppBackup?

I've never used appbackup... From what I've heard Pkgbackup is the best - it worked wonders for me. It was the easiest restore I've ever done with a jailbroken device.

Looks like the culprit for both my iPhone 4 is ultrasn0w. As soon as I added it, I notice my battery draining utterly fast, compared to the one without it, both have the same apps.

im starting to think its either ultrasn0w or sbsettings now.

In a period of 12 hours with only 30 mins of talktime and 5 mins of fb browsing my battery sits at 65% now.

All i have on the phone is sbsettings, ultrasn0w, infinifolder, makeitmine, bitesms and signal. SSH is off this whole time. 3g and wifi enabled but ive been home the whole time so i assume its connected to my wifi.

Question: if i uninstall ultrasn0w does that mean i uninstalled the unlock? or do i actually need to restore to get rid of it for good?

I have SBSettings but not ultrasn0w. I had battery issues until last night. After a battery calibration it's very close to the way it was pre-jailbreak. I took it off the charger at 10:30am today and now at 8:21pm it's reading 93%.

I've used twitter, made a couple of phone calls, checked the weather, did some customization via SSH and played around with different wallpapers. It was a light usage day but it's seems to be like I remember.

A full discharge and then charge is an easy way to see if the battery meter just needs recalibration. I charged it overnight with airplane mode on to insure it wasn't interrupted.

I'm 99 percent sure it's ultrasn0w. I ran a test also with two iphone 4's. One had ultrasn0w; one just stock. In about a 9 hour period, the one w/ the unlocked went from 100 to 88 %. The stock w/ jailbreak went from 100 to 99. Reversed the phones etc. Identical results.

I think ultrasn0w is my problem. I had installed sbsettings and winterboard as soon as the jailbreak came out, and my battery only got better since I could toggle sertings and adjust brightness on the fly. It wasn't until after ultrasn0w came out that my standby time was taking a huge hit. I'll find out for sure tomorrow since I just uninstalled it.

Ok.

So I uninstalled my3G and SBSettings to see if they were draining my battery. Yesterday I got over 26 hours standby time with about 3 hours of use. That's very nearly back to normal, though i usually use the handset more than that.

I charged it before going to bed, and left it in standby overnight. This morning, after 10 hours, the battery is down to 80% which obviously isn't ideal.

Basically, I'm confused. It seems very hit and miss - some days it seems to be fine, others it's awful. I just uninstalled Activator (though that also took Notified pro with it) as that's the only other thing I can think of. I now only have BiteSMS installed.

Starting to wonder if we'll ever get to the bottom of this!

My battery performance has been really poor since jailbreaking. The phones been off charge for 3 hours now, out of which I used it for about 45 minutes of heavy use and now it's down to 75%. Before it would be on about 90% at this point.
I've installed Sbsettings, 3g unrestrictor and a few other tweaks and such. I haven't installed ultrasn0w. I just deletect 3g unrestrictor as I thought that might be the culprit.

Well mines at 47% still from the previous charge I mentioned (Charged on Thursday and it finished at 3:10). One thing I noticed is that when I put Winterboard on, my battery was definitely draining faster so I took it back off. I didn't think not displaying text for undocked items was worth the worse of battery.

My iPhone 4 battery usage appears to be unchanged since my jailbreak. I only installed Rock and MyWi:D Both Notifications and Push are off and Mail is set to fetch hourly. Only downside is that I'm going through my 6GB of data much quicker now that my iPad is sharing the data using MyWi over a wireless N connection. Running Speedtest.net app on ipad shows 3.26 Mbps down, 3.55 Mbps up.

Really loving my jailbreak;)

My phone had 13% battery left, and 6 hours later I woke up to find my Phone was switched off because the battery was drained. All i did was install the updates in Cydia.

My battery was awful after I jailbroke also.
I uninstalled SBSsettings and lock info thinking
that would probably fix things. It did not fix the
battery issue so I decided to restore my phone as new
and then I installed Rock, MyWi, and My3G only.
My battery is back to normal now!

I believe it was SBSsettings causing the battery issue
and only restoring the phone got rid of all that residual
code.

Right now I have 1 hour 7 minutes usage and 14 hours standby and I'm at 92% battery.

Before I restored I would have been down in the 70% with the same usage.

Hope this helps!

UltraSn0w makes my battery drain very fast.
I JB my phone and installed only ultraSn0w. 10% is used overnight. Then, I restored my iphone and JB again and did not install UltraSn0w.Only 2% is used overnight.

Image Capture on a Mac or the Camera Wizard thing on a PC (forget what it’s actually called, but it comes up when you hook up the iPhone via USB).

My JB of the iPhone 4 has had no affect on battery life whatsoever.

Agreed, I've seen zero difference in battery life between charges. I have myWi, my3G and FakeLocation installed and I kill them with the task manager when I'm done using them. I've actually more problems with MLB at Bat and the camera app draining the battery then I've had with Cydia/Rock apps.

For me, it's Rock and MyWi. I remove those two and the battery is normal, install them and it starts draining faster than normal. Doesn't matter if I never even used them a first time.

Those are the only two apps that I installed after I restored from backup and jb again. Now, I don't have battery issues any more. Previously, in addition to Rock and MyWi, I also had My3G and SBSettings. It was either one or both of those apps that was draining my battery faster than normal.

Thanks for the info. My battery is down to 20% after 8 hours, only 1 hour of which is actual usage.
I'm going to restore now and re jailbreak, I don't think I will install SBsettings this time, it's shame because I use it quite a lot.

my battery was draining faster after jb'ing but BEFORE i installed sbsettings... only had winterboard, intelliscreen installed. so not sure where the real culprit is...
