How did I miss this thread?

1) I'm 1/4 Russian, 1/2 Scotch-Irish, and probably some German.
2) Daniel Boone is my 5G Grandfather
3) I'm depressed and probably have been since I was 13
4) but I'm in therapy and on anti-d's, so it's helping
5) I have four cats...p*****d my wife off b/c I brought another home a few weeks ago. She's so cute (the cat)!
6) It took my 25 years to figure out what I wanted to do with my life (be a teacher).
7) I hate cubicles.
8) I think competition is unhealthy and promotes a winner - loser attitude.
9) I think everyone has a place in the world.
10) Desmond Tutu is my idol - I heard him preach when I was 20 and will never forget it.
11) Even though I'm a youth minister in the Episcopal Church, my faith isn't all that strong. Though I believe Jesus was a pretty cool dude who loved everyone, including and mostly people we have a hard time loving.
12) I'm a pretty big sap for a guy...I'm in touch with my feminine side but have never had homosexual thoughts. I love the pooty too much.
13) My wife is the outgoing one, I'm very introverted.
14) She just got a great job, which means I'm going to play Mr Mom a lot more. A role I'm very comfortable in.
15) I have a blind spot in my right eye from an airborn virus that ate away at my retina when I was 22.
16) I've lived in Columbus, Mississippi my whole life, although many, many people tell me I would thrive if I moved away. We're considering it.
17) I'm very close to my mom, but have very little respect for my dad.
18) I have two older brothers and we are all very different in a lot of ways.
19) I don't smoke or drink anymore.
20) I LOVE redheads, but never dated one. (Katie's awesome but a tad too young) :D

21) My wife thinks I'm immature, but my kids think I'm fun. But I also have to play the bad guy a lot.
22) The kids in my youth group think I'm more in touch than most priests. I have a hard time with priests, too, in their role of authority.
23) I don't play politics very well...thus my issues with priests (and authority at times).
24) I'm considered very liberal for my town.

3. I love my Motorola e815 cell phone.

5. I never go out without: Listerine Pocket Packs, cell phone, chapstick, a tissue, and my wallet.

3/4 of your 20 were like mirrored after my life. Especially age, body size, women, and habit of breaking the law.... I only wish I was going to inherit 1 million!!
 
1. I'm bilingual and also studied three other European languages (though not fluent in those)
2. My grandmother is 100 years old
3. I've been a veggie for 18 years and was a vegan for 5 of those years
4. My favourite food is Som Tam (thai spicy green papaya salad)
5. I think I have OCD when it comes to food preparation... I wash everything and my hands repeatedly
6. The first book I remember reading at school (aged 4) was James and the Giant Peach... while everyone else was stuck learning the alphabet
7. I don't like reading as I have a very short attention span

Ooo...fun!

1.) I'm 1/32 Native American.
2.) The rest is mostly German and Scottish (I have two plaids!).
3.) I'm related to the Wright Brothers (great-great-grand nephew; as direct as it gets since the brothers themselves never fathered children).
4.) I've been published (okay, it's just some examples I drew up for a professor's essay-for-a-book-to-be-published, but it counts and I'm credited ;)).
5.) I currently have two totally unrelated majors and two minors all to-be-completed in 5 years of college (ending up with probably over 170 credits).
6.) ^^that unrelated double major thing runs in my family.
7.) Musically, I sing and currently play two instruments (I also acted as chief drum major in my high school for a year).
8.) I aspire to earn my living as a composer, possibly scoring films.
9.) ^^as that won't likely happen right away, I'll probably do immunological research or forensics in the mean time (and to pay off student loans).
10.) I'm seriously considering becoming a published writer on the side (non-fictional studies in interrelation, for example).
11.) I tend to get involved in far too many disciplines (though that may be becoming more obvious).
12.) My favorite art and music styles generally come from Asia (Russia, Japan, China, India, Malaysia, etc.) and Scandinavia/northern Europe.
13.) I've only ever left the country once (to Denmark and Germany for our college's first international choir tour).
14.) Though you could see this from my profile, my Zodiac sign is Cancer (whose general characteristics fit me well) and I was born in the Chinese Year of the Rat; a Wood Rat, nonetheless (whose general characteristics mostly fit me as well)
15.) I've never broken a bone and only had two minor surgeries (for my ear drum: the doctor botched the first one, and incidentally he was indirectly the reason I had to have surgery in the first place).
16.) I love science fiction (any entertainment form) and secretly want to be a starfighter pilot :eek:.
17.) I also tend to enjoy philosophy, science nonfiction, and a good adventure book.
18.) I love video games, including Nintendo (Zelda, Samus, Mario etc.), pre-MS Bungie (Marathon, Oni), pre-MS RareWare (Donkey Kong Countries, GoldenEye, Perfect Dark) Blizzard (Warcraft, Starcraft), Unreal Tournament 'XX, Rogue Squadron, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis to name a few.
19.) I love Japan, its art (including anime), its music, its language, and its culture; yet I don't speak Japanese and have never visited there (yet).
20.) My mother was a musician and my father is an artist (generally working as a graphic designer).

Phew! I guess I didn't really point out anything that I'm not or that I don't like, but oh well.

Oh ok, I'll give in to this....

1. Except electronic music, I hate any music made after the mid-70's (there are a few exceptions)
2. I watch a movie almost every night.
3. I live on a lake.
4. My career is that of a software developer on Windows and Linux.
5. I was hit by a car when I was 14.
6. If you want an awesome freshwater planted aquarium, I'm your man.
7. I used to work on the flight deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln.
8. My first exposure to a computer was an Apple in 2nd grade.

1- I really was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

2- I worked as a chef in a Lesbian diner in Austin, Texas.

3- My apartment looks like the Apple store, but my website looks like Pee-Wee's playhouse.

4- I know how to fingerspell American Sign Language very quickly.

5- I'm terrible at understanding what other signers are saying.

6- My first boyfriend was deaf.

7- I know how to play the violin, piano, and jembe.

8- My youngest friend is 14 and my oldest friend is 84.

9- I don't think I will die on U.S. soil.

11- I was one of the very first people who bought the very first iPod. (I
ordered mine as soon as it appeared on the apple store website.) My friends thought I was crazy. I had also predicted that apple would make one out of a hunch. I also predicted the release of Garageband and the 12" G4 laptop. I was completely suprised when Apple made the switch to Intel. I still can't belive it!

12- I was one of the first podcasters- back when the total number of RSS audio shows was under 1000 in most directories.

13- I've been working as a professional drag queen for over 12 years, even though nobody thinks of me as one.

14- I never knew my grandfathers.

15- My father is 86 years old.

16- I can't stand the taste of mayonnaise.

17- My real blue hair is a result of not wanting to wear blue wigs.

18- I'm the only man in my family to have been breastfed.

19- My podcast has the largest number of listeners for a gay audience.

20- I feel like an outsider in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the city where I grew up.
 
1. To continue with the blood line thing I am 1/2 English, 1/4 American and the remainig 1/4 is an odd sock draw of Spainish, Polish, Italian and like everyone else, Irish.

We used to have to get up out of our shoebox at twelve o'clock at night, and lick t'road clean with our tongues... ;)

Anyway, to veer back on topic... the latest revival of this thread has made me take another look back at my list from last February – now four of my twenty don't apply to me anymore. At this rate, I'll need an entirely new list June 2008ish...
 
1. I'm 100% Irish.
2. I developed a huge crush on a person twice, without realising it was the same person.
3. After doing many unsuccessful swimming lessons, I finally learned to swim while doing a long bar-crawl along a beach on a Thai island. While very drunk. With a belly full of food. At night. I have no idea how I still alive.
4. I'm one of 7 siblings. My aunt had 11 children. My grandfather was one of 17. I'm afraid to look any further up my family true, it might fall over.
5. Women's accents fascinate me.
6. My most embarrassing experience was sitting down to eat lunch while on a work trip in Taiwan, only to realise I'd walked into a board meeting and was sitting in the CEO's chair.
7. Despite (..or maybe because?) I have 6 sisters, I'm extremely shy with women. Haven't had a any kind of relationship in over 4 years, longest ever was 4 dates! I am very independent though, it doesn't bother me at all.
8. Helping my family, friends and those around me is my only goal in life worth having. With all other goals (wealth.. fame), you just want more and more, they're insatiable.
9. Four generations of my family left to live and work in the US, but came back. Some day, I'll have to go and trace my "roots"! ;)
10. Women used to always come up to me in pubs and ask to run their fingers through my hair. ...not so much any more since I shaved my head..
11. I play the flute, learning the piano, and thinking about learning the double-bass (not very practical, but what a sound!)
12. My practice flute was very badly bent & broken after my sister held a hen party in my apartment. After seeing American Pie, I'm afraid to ask.
13. I often wonder how so many people have Irish ancestry - there's only 4 million living here! We must obviously be great lovers! :p

15. I've been using a Mac long enough to remember the 'floppy shuffle', the Dogcow (and the Talking Moose), and all the original apps - MacDraw, MacPaint etc.
16. I got my current job (Mac programmer) without applying for it, submitting a CV, or doing an interview.
17. My only visits to a hospital were for a broken nose playing British Bulldog, and for emergency surgery with a perforated appendix (which was misdiagnosed as indigestion :mad:
18. I'm trying to at least visit every continent, South America early next year, which just leaves Africa and Antartica.
19. My middle name is Florence, which surprisingly never got me beaten up.
20. Every time I look up (without moving my head), I'm slightly cross-eyed.
21. I hate cheese. My parents (but particularly my evil sisters) used to sneak it into whatever I was eating to see if I'd notice. It's almost a phobia now, even the smell!
22. Very confident, assertive children always freak me out. Don't know why.
23. I don't know if this is normal or not, but you can see my heart beating by looking at my chest.
24. I wonder if having more than 20 points makes one's life sound more interesting... ;)

:D If anyone ever asks, I describe British Bulldog as rugby without the ball but a lot more violent!
