damn it cameroon ... such a ridiculous game from such offensive talent... what is it with african teams at the world cup ? so far all of them have been massive dissapointments
 
Ugh I had Cameroon in second in that group...some interesting stats:

Bags - just habit, hope they left space for the Cup.:)

The Cameroon display reminds me of the Manchester United performances where the players think they have all the time in the world, then realise with 5 minutes to go that they haven't.

Normally I'd say use the player in his club position, but Eto'o and Walcott?

Yes, if Green hadn't gotten a piece of Altidore's shot (and a little help from the goalpost), then Jamie might be the goat of the game instead of Green.
 
England vs usa

It was an interesting game and hopefully with these 2 points lost i hope (England) can see that our group is one of the easier ones, take advantage of that but dont get too cocky and pretend that we already have it in the bag. The current squad has only become worse and worse over the years but i expect them to do well.

USA played a good match and they won that point. If you can play like that these next two games you will be through to the knockout stages. winner and runner up will be playing the runner up and winner of the Germany/Australia group. Germany will most likely be the winner so the runner up in our group will play them, hopefully its USA.

to those who might not know it was England you played, not Britain or UK.

You mention that.... and although we're all very used to England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to be separate footballing nations, it's not always like that in the sports-world, is it.
In the Olympics and Formula One, for instance, it is the UK.

Kinda strange when you think of it.

BTW... a real UK team would be a gr8 team. Imagine having Giggs a few years back... ;)

yeh thats what i mean, it can be confusing for others who dont follow football/soccer and might think its UK. i was just pointing that out.

a UK team would be no doubt one of the best teams in the world. Given in goal for me would of been a nice addition to the team alone, giggs would be even better haha.

i don't think a UK team would be significantly better than the england team. it might even be worse if the coach felt that he had to 'balance' the team with quotas from all four federations.
scotland wales and northern ireland would of course be better, but i doubt their fans would be thrilled.

we'll see at the olympics i guess

in other news, japan's win was the first surprise of the tourney. now it gets difficult for denmark.

i never thought of that point actually, i guess its true. like i said about given though, since seaman we haven't had a good consistent number 1 and it has cost us big time.

could it improve the england team? probably but it would matter as it will not happen anyway.

I used to like the French when half of Arsenal was their national team, LOL.
The Italians have never been my favourite. I like Del Piero, but that's it.
