The FA have pleasingly confirmed that England will once again wear all red when we take on Germany this Sunday.

Watch the FA ask FIFA for the team to wear red as far as the team goes in the knockout stages.

By the way, I love all the silly nicknames the England boys have for each other...they come across all Jeeves and Wooster.

Footballer nicknames are generally easy enough – either go with initials ('JT', 'Stevie G') or add an 'O' or 'Y' on the end ('Crouchy').

Occasionally though, a good one does come through – my favourite is QPR's Fitz Hall who goes by the nickname 'One Size'. Heh.

It's some new fangled Adidas gubbins that the tri-striped ones are calling 'Techfit Powerweb'. A number of the national shirts they're producing have this, and according to the blurb it offers the wearer...

I was just watching the Danmark/Japan replay and some Japanese players had this while some just had normal shirts, so I'm guessing it's an optional choice. The two free-kick specialists Honda and Endo did not have it, so obviously didn't need this gimmick to enhance their accuracy.
